Lifting

To lift is defined as to carry from a lower to a higher position, to raise; to raise in condition, rank, or esteem; to uplift; to elate.Oxford English Dictionary

“Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.”
—Psalm 86:4

Lifting is an abstract principle and an act of love. The Elect must lift everyone and everything into the Light. Lifting is a law of being; you must remain lifted up in consciousness. Lifting is a law of doing, an expression of your love, and a soul virtue.

Lifting is the right response to any negative thought, emotion or situation, the right use of imagination by seeing on a cloud of Light every person, place, situation or thing on your lines of Light, and speaking the Word for their healing: This is good. Let there be Light. All lifting is Priestly service to God and man.

Edna Lister on Lifting

Compassion begins as mere sympathy for one other person, yet ends with lifting the world into the Light and holding it there.—Edna Lister, Love: The Highway, October 24, 1930.

And I, If I amam lifted up, shall draw all to me.—John 12:32. I am now ready to be lifted up. I am now being lifted up into perfection. I am now accepting my responsibility as one of God’s lifters. I am now a joyous lifter. I am now pouring out love, which lifts the world. I am now faithful in my lifting. I am now receiving my reward for lifting. I am now complete success because am lifted up. I am now lifting through great understanding. I am now thanking God that He has given me the power to lift.—Edna Lister, Summer 1931, Edinburgh, Scotland.

If you know the truth in the instant a conflict is brought to your attention, there is no danger of first taking it into your consciousness and then later having to lift it out and up. You lift instantly by knowing the truth under the principle of nonresistance. The finest results come from dealing with a situation the moment it touches your consciousness, lifting it into Light, refilling yourself, and being ready for the next call.—Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1933.

Every time you call upon the power of love, speaking the Word to send it forth to do something to increase the Good, you free the Heavenly Councils to send legions of angels to lift up, to destroy and cast into the fire, that which offends against God’s Law.
You may be the only soul in the whole world who is available to lift some particular person or situation onto a cloud continent of Light.—Edna Lister, Release the Indwelling Power, January 11, 1933.

To heal, you lift. To heal you must lift the one to be healed, and see them permeated by Light. If you radiate the power of love, you automatically lift everything you touch.
After lifting, speak the Word, and watch as God’s Power does the work
Walk in graciousness and you cannot avoid lifting your whole family. Radiate graciousness, and lift people with a sense that it is your privilege to do so. The Power goes into action and the person is lifted to be controlled by the Good. As Abraham Lincoln said, "We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
Obtain mastery, which is freedom over hate and negative thoughts. If you can lift, nothing in heaven or earth can be withheld from you. Yet you are not a Master until you have lifted the fellow who has despitefully used you.—Edna Lister, January 16, 1933.

Do not ask to be lifted, but thank God that you are lifted into the heart of the fire, that He has armored you with Light.—Edna Lister, January 20, 1933.

You are under no responsibility to take back into your life anything or anyone that has ever left you. Yet you must lift them into the Light, onto a cloud continent of Light, according to our ability to lift your enemies.—Edna Lister, Get on the Receiving End of Life, January 23, 1933.

To praise lifts the self of the soul who is praising and clothes the praise-give in a cloak of glorious Light. You must dedicate yourself to being a master of life, a conqueror of life, lifting and creating perfection.—Edna Lister, Your Royal Birth, January 24, 1933.

Lift your desires.—Edna Lister, How to Make Your Dreams Reality, January 25, 1933.

As you study the Beatitudes, remember that each is an invitation to lift self, which gives you an opportunity to unfold and lift the past to be filled with Light.—Edna Lister, January 29, 1933.

Leave a cloud of love in everywhere you go, even if you are only walking through a store. Carry a love-mister and spray everyone with love, for it lifts people.
Our whole world stands at the threshold preparing to enter the Golden Christed Age. We, the Elect, are honor-bound to live on a high spiritual plane and thus to lift the world.
"If any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain."—Matthew 5:40-41. To go two miles with an adversary gives you an opportunity to lift. The more evil they are, the heavier they are, the higher your lifting will lift you. Supposed adversaries are simply opportunities to advance and conquer.
God has given you charge over your family where you are. You stand at the head and like St. Paul (Acts 27:24), you have the lines of responsibility for all the people on your ship in your hand. Your privilege is to lift them into the Light, and to live by the law. You can fill them so full of love that they cannot live by anything but the laws of love. You can lift yourself, your burdens, family, and the world. You can love anybody into the Light and see them change into it. The higher you lift them, the higher your lifting will lift you.—Edna Lister, January 31, 1933.

Do not dare to take time to judge the other fellow. You must lift, not push him down. Declare him perfect, whole and complete, that he is standing beside you in glory, freed of limitations. When you judge and criticize, you are condemning yourself. "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. If I lift all men, I shall be lifted up. If I am busy lifting everybody, every condition and circumstance, I am doing the right, thing. Lift everything you see and you can be sure of serving the Good.
We, the Elect, are God’s lifters, lifting the world everywhere we go.—Edna Lister, February 1, 1933.

Lift yourself to expand into contact with God. Lift all outside things into your inner kingdom, into the heart of God.—Edna Lister, Imagination, March 1, 1934.

Lifting is universal selflessness. You lift people and situations to release Love and Wisdom. I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.—John 12:32. When I lift all men (things) up, I too shall be lifted.—Edna Lister, The Silence, Saturday, March 17, 1934.

The law of lifting is "Let Light overcome all darkness. It is now good and very good. It is finished." Do not speak of it again.—Edna Lister, July 29, 1938.

Let nothing interfere with your hidden purpose, which is to lift all darkness in the Master’s name.—Edna Lister, September 6, 1938.

Lift each world vibration to the altar in sacrifice as it approaches.—Edna Lister, September 6, 1938.

No soul may ascend higher unless they return all the Substance, Power, life and Light upon which they drew or demanded of God during their sojourn upon earth. Each descended soul must lift all, and cross its number off the Book of Life, or that ascending soul may not pass above. The law is just, for many would misuse and leave it behind if it were possible.—Edna Lister, November 13, 1938.

Lift your desires of self, mate them in love to your intellectual will, and they will act as one, perfectly balanced.—Edna Lister, March 30, 1939.

All old forms fastened in greed of power, lust for money and persons shall be lifted from earth.—Edna Lister, September 10, 1939.

When you lift all else, you, too, shall be lifted very high. That which you lift will be exalted, and that which you lift shall exalt you.—Edna Lister, October 30, 1939.

Always recognize when your vibration falls, or you are as deflated as an old, cold flat griddle cake when God needs you as a perfect instrument to "let" and release His Power to lift the world. No Power can quicken the soggy mass.—Edna Lister, July 24, 1945.

"I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. Someone else is always depending on your expression of strength and courage. Each of us is always lifting someone else. Everyone has the deep soul desire to lift at least one other person higher. Your lifting ability, your capacity for lifting, depends on constantly increasing your efforts in practicing all the laws in your chosen method. It means to seek God first more eagerly, to be more agreeable in your contacts, avoiding delay and wasted time in following the Light of the Christ. In short, it means reaching to everyone who comes to you with arms of divine love, compassion and understanding. This is the high and glorious "lifting."—Edna Lister, Six Creative Laws: The Keys of the Kingdom, September 1, 1945.

Your living lifts, pushes down, or is so indifferent that it cools ardor wherever it touches.—Edna Lister, February 7, 1947.

First, you lift. Each prayer is a lift upward. The gestures of your hands start vibrations, so you reach out, lift up, and say, "I lift you up." It may take material light millions of years to reach earth, but when God moves, His Light arrives instantly. The Light of God finishes what began as a thought or idea in the mind of man. The one who lifts sets the keynote of Light in mind.
Lift everything, always. Lift the past and difficult personalities onto a cloud and call down Light upon them to redeem our soul substance. If you lift everything, Light lifts you. When you are "down," you know you haven’t lifted. Get on a cloud yourself and lift everything on the cloud. You do the lifting and all the letting. Do not ask "why." Just lift it because it is there for you to take the responsibility of lifting it.—Edna Lister, Jesus’ Prayer of the Ages, April 27, 1947.

Divine Power is seeking to lift the world. You are responsible for all about you, and everything in your place. Let the Light do the lifting.—Edna Lister, An Encompassing Faith, May 4, 1947.

The Law of Personal Responsibility: I accept all that comes to me as mine. I earned it in past lives, created it in this life, or it is something of darkness that only I may lift for my Father; therefore, I do accept and lift all that comes to me. I now accept my great responsibility to lift all that comes to me, which entails these three things: 1) assuming responsibility for all darkness around me, 2) the responsibility to sacrifice self and 3) the responsibility of full surrender to be the servant of all Power.—Edna Lister, July 5, 1947.

When you mind your own business, you are lifting. You may not question the Master about what another is doing.—Edna Lister, July 6, 1947.

As you lift those whom you love, and humanity to a cloud, all else is added to you. You must change the "get" and "keep" for "me" attitude to the "let" and "hold" for God attitude. Irresistible love draws your own to you as a magic magnet of attraction.—Edna Lister, July 26, 1947.

To lift once is not enough. Lift all ways, always.—Edna Lister, January 8, 1948.

When traveling, lift the country through which you pass.—Edna Lister, March 15, 1948.

Lift all good from all old.—Edna Lister, February 3, 1949.

When you can think of no one and nothing else to lift, you have reached the outer fringe of the golden silence.—Edna Lister, The Golden Silence, December 6, 1949.

It is a law that self can give itself only to the white Light for lifting for the soul’s release. When others give you extra darkness of any kind, it is your sign that the white Light of the Christ is using you more powerfully.—Edna Lister, The Seven Churches, December 13, 1949.

Lift all your darkness, clean house. Light can stir you up. Sacrifice every bit of self that comes to the surface, and return all misused substance of self to God. Ask Light to move through and say, "This day, I ascend. I lift my resentments, opinions and prejudices."—Edna Lister, God’s Eternal Purpose, February 24, 1950.

While acceptance is crucial to ascension, it is important to not accept resentment, blame or criticism as being yours before you lift it.—Edna Lister, Five Steps in Ascension, April 16,1950.

God is working with you to lift earth.—Edna Lister, Promises Given, September 10, 1950.

All that comes to you through experience is yours to act on and lift.—Edna Lister, To Seek the Light, June 10, 1951.

You cannot be lifted up and reach balance if you do not lift your family with you. Ask God to make you good so you may lift the other fellow as well as yourself.—Edna Lister, Be-Attitudes, June 12, 1951.

Your desire to be perfect is perfect, and it takes you to heaven. The Father advances you credits so that you can release Power for lifting earth. You are always working on advanced credits you have not yet earned. You must be like an atomic bomb of Light to lift the darkness. You can cover everyone’s transgressions, including those of the wicked. Reach with arms of Light to sustain all until everyone can gain balance.
To lift your enemies we say, "I accept the fact that this has come into my life. Within it I find my own lost soul substance." As you lift it and declare it good and very good, God adds as much soul substance as you have redeemed for purification.—Edna Lister, The First Days, June 17, 1951.

When you catch yourself sighing, breathe deeply and lift.—Edna Lister, Secrets of the Hidden Mother, July 22, 1951.

If you want to lift darkness, call it by name, for instance, jealousy. But do not put your name on another person; lift your own. Say, "Let Name desire to be lifted."—Edna Lister, The Flaming Sword, July 29, 1951.

If I am lifted up into the Realm of Love, I draw all men after me. If I am lifted up where there are no offenses, for pure love cannot see offenses, I will lift all others up with me. People run out of ammunition when you are lifted up; it leaves them wandering without a target.—Edna Lister, Forgiveness: The Path of Glory, October 21, 1951.

Bite your tongue under trying circumstances. Look upon your adversary with true, deep compassion and lift!—Edna Lister, Prove Me Now, October 28, 1951.

Conscious mind governs reasoning, comparison, deduction, induction, and synthesis to lift the unconscious. When these faculties fade, you reach a place called the burning sands of the desert. All your difficulties come between your high points of happiness, because until you fully cleanse the self, it is vulnerable to dark suggestions. So, the tests must come until you lift all remaining darkness.—Edna Lister, The Golden Chalice, September 21, 1952.

When you ascend, you have greater love to pour out upon your loved ones. You see their frailties only to lift them in love and compassion. This draws them up with you because it is soul-satisfying to the one who is loved.—Edna Lister, The Mantle of Messiahship, October 12, 1952.

You have a choice. You need not roll in the ditch to consort with darkness, and becoming part of it does not lift darkness.

Only Light lifts, heals and closes out darkness.—Edna Lister, December 18, 1952.

Lift instantly anything God sends you, darkness in you or in others. God charges the debt to the one who builds the vibration of darkness, but credits the account of the one who lifts without recreating more darkness.—Edna Lister, Surrender and Transfiguration, July 12, 1953.

If you do nothing to lift the emotional life, you reach a point where something stops you, because you have coordination in everything but your emotions.—Edna Lister, Success Through Divine Action, July 14, 1953.

Everybody picks on you when, after arising and lifting them, you fall and sit on them.—Edna Lister, Dynamic Nonresistance, October 2, 1953.

The most evil things are starving for the love of God. If it comes within your range, God is giving it to you to lift. You lift that part of God, not the evil, but its effects.—Edna Lister, Look Up and Be Alive, October 11, 1953.

Every time a seeker has illumination, it releases Power over all the earth. No one can prevent his personal illumination from lifting all earth. The whole earth partakes of the glory. You may descend from illumination, hide under an awning or an umbrella, but the glory of the illumination shines from the Source forever.—Edna Lister, Seeing the Salvation of God, November 22, 1953.

Declare that all darkness is good and coming to the surface for lifting. When someone curses near you, it brings together darkness for you to lift for cleansing. No challenge can touch you because you have Light moving forth. Separate what people do from what they are. Look at the person and declare him good. See no darkness except to lift it. This is how to lift what he is doing.—Edna Lister, Seeing the Salvation of God, November 22, 1953.

Jesus came to live through every earth experience and lift every line of darkness and took those lifted lines of Light with him through the Gates of Light. Someone on earth has to draw in and lift the fallen lines of darkness. You are responsible for keeping those lines of Light lifted if you want to ascend, follow the Via Christa and be an instrument of all Power.—Edna Lister, I Arise, June 20, 1954.

Missing the mark in lifting means that your opportunities may go to the next in line in chronological soul age.

A mother’s love lifts according to her degree and kind. Every stage, every degree, every class uses the Mother Love of God, which is credited to the individual, from the lowest to the highest, as their 100 percent ability to love. When one gives his "all" where he is, that is his 100 percent.—Edna Lister, Every Mother’s Domain, May 8, 1955.

When you discover how to meet a problem, you lift every person or group with a similar problem.—Edna Lister, What Is Freedom? July 10, 1955.

If you can hear negative words and criticism instead of lifting, your subconscious is running you.—Edna Lister, The Well of Living Waters, July 31, 1955.

When chosen to lift, take it as an honor. Be a strong one. Reach with your arms of Light and say, "I’ll lift." It does not matter whose it is, as long as darkness is being lifted.—Edna Lister, The Bread of Life, August 7, 1955.

Lift earth when you cannot lift the masses’ consciousness; they will come.—Edna Lister, August 11, 1955.

"I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. Don’t drag people or the negative past with you; put it all high on a cloud of Light. When they pester you beyond endurance, lift them high and call on fire from heaven. When you ascend, they have no option but to ascend, too, because your lines of Light pull them upward. When they’re on a cloud continent of Light, they no longer drag on you.—Edna Lister, Heavenly Manna, August 14, 1955.

Your lines of Light and responsibility run all over earth. You weave lines wherever you go, and lines can cross. When you are happy, you leave a line of light. Another’s lines can create a fog, an illness or evil, which can enter your aura if you are in low spirits. Remember to invoke the Power to fill your aura with Light substance, and cleanse your heart before going out.
When you make forceful demands, the lines tighten and can choke those near you. When someone throws backstabbing words and anger at you, wind the line like a skein of yarn and put it on the altar. Call it good and God sends the sender a cloud substance footstool upon which to stand. Prepare the strands but let God weave the pattern. Your readiness is the practice, and "let" extends the line of Light.—Edna Lister, June 6, 1957.

Put all you have into this moment’s lifting.—Edna Lister, August 12, 1957.

Everyone on earth is lifting darkness, but doing it consciously with declarations and prayer treatments is our work.—Edna Lister, August 22, 1957.

The brain never tires, but your recording set, the conscious mind, gets clogged when you become tired. Lie down and form a five-pointed star with your body, to overcome fatigue. You do have "universal time" in which to do this, in which to live. You can’t lift others when you are tired.
A true Master is one who is quickest to assume responsibility for lifting.—Edna Lister, The Brain, Your Instrument of Power, September 24, 1957.

You are responsible for redeeming, lifting and reintegrating your soul substance life sparks. Everyone must do this sometime in some place. You draw the soul substance from the physical cells to the desire body molecules. In turn, you draw the desire body molecules into the mental body atoms, and from the atoms to the electronic fire body, which is purely spiritual.—Edna Lister, Conquering Space, October 15, 1957.

People ask, "What should I do?" The answer is always the same: move up in consciousness and lift.—Edna Lister, The Wheels of Ezekiel, December 17, 1957.

You lift evil from earth by spiritual arms. The need is so great to lift pain and suffering from earth, and you lift it through pain and suffering on earth.—Edna Lister, March 6, 1958.

You must stop individualizing your God into "those who drink," "those who smoke," "those who steal," etc. Lift all these people from your clutches and assume that everything that comes to you is right for you to lift.
You may not ignore what comes to you or have a tantrum about it. Accept everything as yours to lift.—Edna Lister, August 28, 1958.

See evil for a second only to recognize it for lifting.—Edna Lister, October 17, 1958.

To stand with God means lifting everything that comes to you. Your business is to lift the other person if you dare to think he does not live law. "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. Don’t ask when or why. Just know that when you have lifted enough darkness, whatever you desire shall be added.—Edna Lister, A Charted Heaven, October 21, 1958.

"Bridle the tongue" since no other avenue of misuse squanders soul substance as rapidly. One hour’s idle gossip undoes the lifting and conquering of an entire month. Lifting includes covering others’ transgressions in speech. Never repeat gossip or another’s opinion of a situation.—Edna Lister, Ten Commandments and Beatitudes, November 4, 1958.

Draw in and lift all your contacts. Then, though they may think they are turning in the opposite direction, they are only backing up an escalator.—Edna Lister, November 11, 1958.

The one you lift responds to your very heartbeat after you make a strong stand.—Edna Lister, April 6, 1959.

Only your self-created devils can bedevil you. These include the "dweller on the threshold of consciousness," the total substance of past negative thoughts, words, emotions and actions. Lifting all self-concoctions is part of your responsibility in earth life. Your personal responsibility on earth is to lift everything that comes and to declare it good for God to move in. Lifting is declaring a person or situation good, imagining the subject on a cloud of Light, and perfect before God.
Anyone desiring to ascend in consciousness under love and selflessness can climb on an ascending Mystic’s vibration, if he can give up the "little self" and become law. The Mystic’s lifting power lies in his devotional attitude toward God and the respiratory rate of balance he attains at the heart center. On an ascending vibration and sincere desire to lift, a mystic can enter a room and raise the vibration until everyone balances on the same high vibration, which is how you can spiritually see on another’s vibration. "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. The mystic’s power to lift is so great that he could heal anyone on his ascending vibration.
The Master lays self-will upon the crossbar of the Master’s cross and assumes full responsibility for lifting everything.
The Neophyte obeys the first law of expression: to lift desire and emotions to achieve physical balance. The Disciple obeys the second law of expression: to lift the self-will to a state of calm under trial. The Christos lifts all fear of old age and death.
Affection for animals lifts them, while love raises them to become human in form and receive bestowal of the living soul.—Edna Lister, The Pioneering Mystic, May 5, 1959.

Any demand carries its own power of fulfillment. Everything you are presented with is possible to lift, even another’s outrageous demand.—Edna Lister, All Substance Is Universal, May 12, 1959.

You may not kill desire, but you can lift it.—Edna Lister, The Kabbalistic Four Worlds, May 26, 1959.

Each is in the hardest place he can be to pay his debts, but do not expect God to set aside His laws. Use this opportunity to conquer and you will be promoted. Lift yourself to the place where the little people do not bother you anymore.—Edna Lister, God as Personality and Principle, June 9, 1959.

Learn to go to God first and pour love upon your neighbor. Lift the situation and stand in and on the Light to adjust in harmony.

Nothing is impossible to God, but He cannot un-commit a deed. You can lift it, wipe it out and ascend the substance, but it remains in the eternal record of the Book of Life.—Edna Lister, The 33 Degrees of Soul Conquering, October 20, 1959.

Whatever comes to you God sends for lifting. No one else is aware at the time. If you are aware, it is a sign that you are to do the lifting. Declare, "I accept that this is mine to lift now."—Edna Lister, The Covenants Between God and Man, December 8, 1959.

When someone compliments you, lift it and return its substance to God, cleansed and purified.—Edna Lister, February 4, 1960.

Just go up in consciousness when you notice a stinker. Make it a natural habit to say, "Here is another stinker, Father."—Edna Lister, March 3, 1960.

Keep lifting your taints so you do not "slide down the greased pole" on tests.—Edna Lister, How Can I Help Myself? May 31, 1960.
  {Legend has it that the British deliberately greased a flagpole they used to fly the Union Jack before they left New York City. On Evacuation Day, November 25 1783, John Van Arsdale climbed the greased pole to replace that flag with the Stars and Stripes.}

You mold your character in the image and likeness of God by lifting and sublimating impulses, emotions, and mental processes. You make mistakes until you properly direct and control subconscious impulses.
See evil only for an instant and declare it good for lifting.—Edna Lister, Is it Right to Ask for Myself? June 14, 1960.

God lifts evil through the prayer of man, as His creation; prayer ascends evil as smoke to be absorbed.—Edna Lister, Is Praise Necessary? July 5, 1960.

You can set aside any prediction through lifting and prayer. God is waiting for you to pray and lift.—Edna Lister, What Is Virtue? July 12, 1960.

God knows all the diseases, taints, sins, hurts and brands of darkness. Don’t spend time describing them for lifting.—Edna Lister, The Ladder of Faith, December 18, 1960.

Nothing can come that is too hard or takes too long to lift, for if it comes to you, it comes because God has no one else. "What is that to thee? Follow thou me" (John 21:22), for whatever comes to you, comes for you to release Power to lift.
You are the law when you lift.—Edna Lister, January 12, 1961.

You cannot fully ascend until you lift the life sparks you have invested in idle words.—Edna Lister, The Seven-Branched Candle Stand, October 10, 1961.

Jesus’ whole message was to lift humanity from self, the creature, to soul, the creator.—Edna Lister, Healing, November 3, 1961.

Rejoice the soul of Thy servant, for unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.—Psalm 86:4. To be exalted is to be "lifted up." The Psalm tells us to lift up our souls in praise. You can experience no exaltation without aspiration. You must aspire toward something, for life is as dull as ditch water without some goal.—Edna Lister, The Soul’s Exaltation, November 13, 1961.

To ascend and to help others to ascend, lift them to what they really are, pure Light. It’s easy to lift for others, but hard to lift our ideas about them.—Edna Lister, Christ Shall Reign, March 12, 1962.

The pattern of law is cut to suit our potential, which includes all spiritual gifts. We lift the difference between our potential and our practice.—Edna Lister, Heaven Is a State of Consciousness, April 3, 1962.

When "it" comes, reach up with your left hand to the Master, and hold "it" in your right hand. If it is violent, put it in a pitcher in your right hand, and lift it to God as quickly as possible.—Edna Lister, February 27, 1963.

You can lift misused Mind and Substance through prayer and declarations, but must lift misused Power, which is force, through a physical object [like your car] or your body.—Edna Lister, Earth’s Earliest Ages, June 11, 1963.

Prayer sets predictions aside because it lifts them into the River of Life to be absorbed.—Edna Lister, The Void and the Light, June 18, 1963.

Declare, "This is good! Let the Light come forth and manifest through him" to one who is in darkness, because you cannot lift an evil that sits under tons of personality judgment.—Edna Lister, God as Principle Applied Under Logic and Reason, November 5, 1963.

Lift your self up into the Light and treat from Light.—Edna Lister, November 27, 1963.

"I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. Being "lifted up," and accepting your responsibility for "all people," are the two working halves of a whole and perfect law. To be lifted up means to have a Christed consciousness through ascension of the soul and surrender of the little self. When the joy of God possesses you, it goes forth with a lifting quality that does draw all things into its radiance. It can transmute depression and discouragement into itself, for its whole reason for being is to absorb darkness into Light.—Edna Lister, Five Keys of the Kingdom, 1964.

Your responsibility for lifting does not mean assuming dozens of obligations you are unable to fulfill. It does not mean you must take another into your home to live, or to permit others to encroach to breed resentment. All this is mystical inner work, which you do from Christed consciousness and the golden silence. It does mean you must hold fast to your high place in consciousness, for you can draw no one higher than you have already lifted yourself. Love of God is your "lifter." The higher you have lifted, the higher your state of consciousness, the mightier the stream of substance pouring forth to serve you, to bring your decrees into outer expression.—Edna Lister, Five Keys of the Kingdom, 1964.

You dare not allow yourself to take your eyes off the goal for an instant when you are lifting others. See them only as the perfection you know God wants them to express. Any wavering in your vision of perfection for them only delays the perfect result. You cannot allow any distraction or interference when it comes to holding fast to lifting everything in your lives.—Edna Lister, Five Keys of the Kingdom, 1964.

"Gird your loins."—Luke 12:35. Inhale deeply to draw in your abdominal muscles, stand tall to speak, and God does the lifting. When you "gird your loins" and say, "Let this be so," it is so, but you fall flat on your face if you go lax as you lift.—Edna Lister, May 25, 1965.

It’s a sign of freedom from slavery to self when you must lift something.—Edna Lister, February 12, 1966.

When a natural event — a prediction, storm or earthquake — presents itself, lift. Don’t talk about it.—Edna Lister, June 22, 1966.

When you say, "I AM good," it lets you be used by God. Call on the name of "I AM" to lift yourself above every negative circumstance.—Edna Lister, Eight Great Powers of Being, October 18, 1966.

You may not know whose debt you lift, but you don't need to; just lift like mad.—Edna Lister, June 1, 1967.

Always be ready to lift, though you see no one to lift. Sometimes the need is someone across the world praying for a miracle.—Edna Lister, January 12, 1968.

To lift is like focusing a camera and snapping a picture, you never look again, just declare it perfect and good.—Edna Lister, March 16, 1968.

Lift everyone and everything, and every word you speak shall be a miracle, healing, lifting, and making perfection wherever you send them.—Edna Lister, April 20, 1968.

At the Adept Degree, you learn that control is the first step in soul conquering, and begin the process by controlling negative expressions—emotional jags, anger, and so on. To complete the Adept Degree, you must recognize that control is not an end in itself, but only the first step in a long process of lifting negative expressions up and out of the consciousness. Controlling the self only halts a negative expression temporarily. Soul conquering lifts the negative expression up and out of your being and fills the void with new added substance and Light to remake you.—Edna Lister, Religion in the Modern Western World, October 22, 1968.

"I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. Lifting includes responsibility for lifting the other fellow. You must do God’s work wherever it comes to you. When someone or something comes to you for lifting, give it to God; put it on an altar, where it belongs. You can’t lift another soul even an inch higher than your own state of consciousness.
Full attention to details lets nothing get by without lifting.—Edna Lister, November 7, 1968.

If you fail to lift, all that comes to you, you stumble over the same thing repeatedly because you have not conquered it.—Edna Lister, The Wheel of Life, June 10, 1969.

Bridle your tongue! Don’t recreate what you have already lifted to be purified.—Edna Lister, The Keys to Revelation, May 12, 1970.

As a creator, you must lift your time and space into infinite eternity now.—Edna Lister, Ascension Makes All Things New, July 5, 1970.

Everything that touches you is yours to lift. You must accept every vibration that comes to you for lifting. "This is mine to lift, or I wouldn’t know anything about it." That it comes to you doesn’t necessarily mean that it is your personal debt, but you are responsible for lifting it. Don’t try to determine who’s guilty, just lift it.—Edna Lister, The Fiery Furnace, November 17, 1970.

What do we mean by lifting? "Let there be Light. I lift this into the Light." When you reach out with arms of Light and gather in misused life sparks, the Father sends forth a magnetic vibration that calls the life sparks, named and numbered. As you reach out and say, "Father, please use me to lift," you gather all ruptured life sparks in your city and put them in purifying fires. For example, a stroke explodes the brain cells, which the soul then must rebuild. The brain cells are composed of primordial life sparks, the same as those that fill all space. When blown out on earth, they float as tiny life sparks, yet retain individual name and number. To build back the brain cells takes at least a decade.
Your name and number are on every life spark of your fire, mental, desire and physical bodies. That soul substance belongs to you as a soul, an identity. You must take your life sparks back with you as you ascend. When you incarnate, you are supposed to have equipment for a beautiful body. When you misuse your soul substance, you must wait until someone offers to lift it. You can ask that an individual’s life sparks be lifted and his guard will receive them. Principle, Mind, Substance and Power go forth as Light when you raise your hands. If you send Power out as force, it becomes "sinful." It must rejoin Mind and Substance. Call down clouds of Light to absorb it.
Idle words create clouds of darkness. Yet declarations will not eradicate the force you create through idle words or in anger. You redeem force through your body. If you are an ordinary sinner, you use your own soul substance. However, if you have made soul vows, you cannot use your own soul substance, so you pay through the body. God originally gave you substance from the Source for which you are responsible. When you pass over, you attend school and gather your own neglected life sparks. You seldom return until you have gathered in your own soul substance again. Every incarnation you build your body sheath in the ark of the mother (the womb) with your own soul substance, named and numbered. Each is himself, and no one else can be you.
When I say, "Let there be Light," I draw in my own misspent life sparks. You can invest your life sparks in another through love, hate, jealousy, etc. To redeem those life sparks, you can only unfasten yourself through lifting them and the person in whom you invested them. Pure love is an investiture, but not bondage. It is bondage only when you base it on grief, criticism, resentment, etc. God has given you the Power to speak the Word, "Let there be Light," and to let that Light be a magnet for lifting.
When I am told to speak a name, I reach out, and the guard who has charge over that embodied soul appears. Then I say, "I now reach out with my arms of Light and gather in the life sparks that Name has misused." The vibration of the Word reaches out, the Father sends a magnetic vibration that calls the named and numbered life sparks to my hands, and the guard receives them.
Reach up, contact a high vibration and ask that a thousandfold magnetic attraction radiates from your hands to do the needed lifting. You must recall every misused life spark to be purified in fire, and it takes centuries to complete. Life sparks cannot be lost, but identity can be.—Edna Lister, May 20, 1971.

Declarations to Empower Lifting

"I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."—John 12:32. "I am now being lifted up into perfection. I am now ready to be lifted up. I am now accepting my responsibility as one of God’s lifters. I am now a joyous lifter. I am now pouring out Love, which lifts the world. I am now faithful in my lifting. I am now receiving my reward for lifting. I am now complete success because I am lifted up. I am now lifting through great understanding. I am now thanking God that He has given me the power to lift."—Edna Lister, Great Britain Tour, 1931.

Lifting self: Father, here is all this past; it is no longer a part of my life. Let it be fully and completely melted, dissolved and absorbed back into the pure Substance of Light. Let the white Light of the Christ descend from above and through every memory cell of my past, cleansing, purifying and filling to overflowing my memory with only the true, the just, the beautiful and the perfect. Thank you, Father. You always say yes.—Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1933.

Lifting soul substance: I now reach out with Arms of Light and gather all my misused and unwisely invested life sparks. Let them be ascended unto Thee, oh Father, for cleansing and purification upon Thy high altars of fire. Let this soul substance be returned to my Star for investment in Thy perfect works. Thank You!—Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1933.

The white Light of the Christ surrounds me and lifts me into all perfection. The white Light of the Christ goes before me, lifting me and extending me, goes before me and lifts me into the Temple of Wisdom.—Edna Lister, February 2, 1942.

Lift all your darkness, clean house. Light can stir you up. Sacrifice every bit of self that comes to the surface, and return all misused substance of self to God. Ask Light to move through and say, This day, I ascend. I lift my resentments, opinions and prejudices.—Edna Lister, God’s Eternal Purpose, February 24, 1950.
