Aura, Your Sphere of Light

The world defines an aura as an "invisible emanation or radiation, a distinctive intangible quality that surrounds a person." An aura is "a subtle emanation or exhalation from any substance, a distinctive impression of character or aspect, a subtle emanation from and enveloping living persons and things, viewed by mystics as consisting of the essence of the individual."

“The aura is the soul's garment of lights and colors.”

The aura is the soul's garment of lights and colors, your personal sphere of spiritual influence, the Light that emanates through you (Hebrew urim = lights). It is a vibration of Light that radiates from the soul, containing all spiritual, mental and emotional attributes of Light modified by your present state of consciousness.

The aura's patterns of light are anchored in the body's glands and plexus centers. No soul always emits the same "lights" (the aura's radiance and hues), which change with each passing emotion, yet constant undercurrents of light reveal a soul's basic character. The aura is like a rainbow, but its well-defined colors blend.

The aura (lights) is a law of being and a law of doing. The aura displays your state of being under the principles of Light and Color, and is thus your personal law of being. The aura responds instantly to what you do; thus it is your personal law of doing.

Edna Lister on the Aura (Lights)

The solar plexus radiates into the auric envelope of light around your physical body. The aura takes on the form of the thoughts and the emotions you entertain, in colors such as yellow, blue, red, violet purple, green, etc. Brilliance comes from the descending etheric currents, and coloring comes from the magnetic currents you absorb from earth. Your auric substance mingles and passes through the bodies of other people and animals, affecting everyone it touches.

If you radiate the power of love, you lift everything you touch. If you are angry, a wave of anger permeates the aura, changes its color and vibration, and you then drag yourself down and those whom you contact; by the exchange of life sparks, you can open yourself to illness. If you remain armored in love, you are protected and cannot take on anything inimical; you do tune in on the vibrations of others, but no negative vibration can leave you to hurt anyone else or vice versa. – Edna Lister, January 16, 1933.

Heavenly Councils exactly measure your aura of lights, brain cells, the trillions of cells of your body, and immediately establish lines of Light to everything you need for your soul's unfoldment. – Edna Lister, A Design for Ascension, 1941.

When you look into someone's eyes and know, you are unconsciously seeing his aura. – Edna Lister, May 19, 1947.

Others can smell your aura as it precedes you; let it be scented as roses! – Edna Lister, June 3, 1947.

Your auric colors drag in the dust when you descend in consciousness. You lift them when you rise again, but they remain in tatters until you regain place and position. – Edna Lister, June 3, 1947.

Every breath you draw expands your aura with the potentialities of divine consciousness. When you speak the word and nothing happens, your aura is dragging. – Edna Lister, Secrets of the Hidden Mother, July 22, 1951.

The judges of Heavenly Councils question you and read the colors of your aura to determine whether you can ascend higher. Your colors will show the truth of your answers. – Edna Lister, The Flaming Sword, July 29, 1951.

When you ascend, a golden aura, shot with the white Christ Light, enmeshes you. – Edna Lister, August 2, 1951.

Every soul has an aura according to its degree and kind. – Edna Lister, May 28, 1953.

As you adjust your use of free will to remain inside your aura, others will seek your advice, and treat you well. Once you bring in those points of self-will, you will know the true freedom of the Wisdom Emanation, which agrees with the All. – Edna Lister, October 19, 1953.

Your aura is love as Light. Under deep breathing and prayer, the aura is a fire zone of protection, a wall of consuming fire. Whatever touches you must be changed to Light. – Edna Lister, I Accept, June 27, 1954.

Your aura is beautiful only when you love God enough. – Edna Lister, The Bible and Numbers, December 7, 1954.

Your aura is your bank of love substance, and the abundance of all good things. – Edna Lister, November 12, 1956.

The auric colors determine your initiatory place, and combined with the appearance of your robes, they designate rank, or soul condition. – Edna Lister, March 7, 1957.

You weave lines of Light wherever you go, and if you are "low" in consciousness, another's lines can create a fog of illness or evil, which can enter your aura. – Edna Lister, June 6, 1957.

Make a chalice of your hands as you invoke Light to fill your aura as a protective sheath. Others' thoughts may bedevil you unless you raise your hands for God's Power to fill your auric sphere. – Edna Lister, December 15, 1957.

Not even God can get inside your aura to lift you, for the seat of soul is inviolate. He can lift only from outside. – Edna Lister, November 9, 1958.

If you expand your aura in surrender, you can accept what others do or say without offense. – Edna Lister, March 22, 1960.

Power is the ability, vigor and energy to do or to act. You have power to change color. When you move up in consciousness from self-pity into praising God, the colors of your aura change. People say, "This taxes my power." If you use only your small will power, it is taxing.

Draw upon the infinite Power of God as action through you. Awaken power as a soul faculty. Invoke Power as a term of encouragement or salutation as in "more power to you," for it evokes the other fellow's full power faculty. – Edna Lister, Your Measure of Power, June 12, 1960.

An aura that appears as a condensed fog reveals a selfish person or a loner. – Edna Lister, December 4, 1962.

You are not always conscious of your aura, though it always surrounds you. – Edna Lister, April 9, 1964.

Hold others in your arms "out there" and love them without sentimentality. Hold them up on a cloud, not inside your aura, which is the difference between love and sentiment. – Edna Lister, July 31, 1965.

The mighty Power you invoke into your body absorbs the crust of negativity on your aura. – Edna Lister, Order and Diplomacy, June 4, 1966.

Each time you conquer self, more Light substance is added to your aura, to replace each part of self lifted. – Edna Lister, October 20, 1966.

Always let the living waters of the River of Life — the Emanations of Wisdom, Love and Energy — flow through to inflate your aura. – Edna Lister, June 16, 1967.

Invoke the Light to fill your aura as a protective sheath. Wherever you go, the Light of your aura permeates and lightens the dark auras of people you contact. – Edna Lister, The Religion of Jesus, October 22, 1967.

When you allow self to lower the vibration of brain neurons and cells, your aura deflates and you lose your awareness of God. – Edna Lister, May 21, 1968.

Unless you fill your aura with Light, cross vibrations from all over may pummel you. – Edna Lister, Wings of Glory, June 22, 1969.

Your thoughts attract every thought similar to your degree and kind, and it registers in your aura. – Edna Lister, February 4, 1971.

Wear the breastplate of righteousness, which was given to Moses and used by the prophets. According to the Bible, the twelve stones it contains are actually twelve lights in the colors of the Zodiacal signs and the Tribes of Israel. The breastplate is a shield of Light that releases all twelve colors needed for health, strength and Power. The twelve colors represent twelve "powers of being," which are soul virtues.

You don't say, "Let the yellow ray go to this organ or that" when you treat in prayer. You don't even mention the lights or colors, but reach up to the Light of God through your breastplate colors. You can treat and pray for people, saying, "Father, send Your Light to take care of this." Undefiled Light then descends through the correct jewel of your breastplate of faith and energizes as color to heal the corresponding organ, eyes, ears, heart, etc. If you wear the breastplate of righteousness and the shield of faith, glory and Light will pass through the jewel to touch whatever is needed. This law works. – Edna Lister, The Path of Destiny, June 13, 1971.

Keep your aura shining bright, and your halo glowing. – Edna Lister, December 17, 1967.

Quotes

The condition of true naming, on the poet's part, is his resigning himself to the divine aura which breathes through forms. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

God is doubtless intimately associated with this material universe. It is blent with all His plans. It is the organ in multitudinous methods of His thought. In many ways it is the means by which He manifests His will, so that, in a certain sense, we may regard it as a body of which He is the resident and president soul. Yet this universe is to wax old like a garment. It is to fade like our own bodies; but no one supposes that the old age of the universe will touch the immortal youth of its Maker. The extinguishment of one of the lamps that He has hung out in space brings no shadow upon His brow. The wreck of a sidereal system works no weakness in His arm. Wrapped in the aura of His own ineffable love, He lives; and because He lives, we shall live also; because He is immortally young shall we also be immortally young; because no organized material system, however intimately associated with Him, can affect, by its decay and wreck, the fountain of His life, the decay of our bodies, if we are like Him, and live in the same atmosphere of love, will not affect us, either in fact or feeling. – Timothy Titcomb
