Discord

Discord is defined as "absence of harmony or concord (between persons); disagreement of opinions and aims; variance, dissension, strife; diversity, difference."

Discord is disharmony, caused by self usurping soul's role in life. It is the psychological use or the reaction of force. Thus, discord is a sin of misusing Power.

Edna Lister on Discord

When you become aware of discord, when someone asks for help, that is the moment for prayer treatment, not five minutes later. You are never justified in saying, "I'll pray for you five minutes from now" or "I'll pray for you an hour from now" or "I'll pray for you tonight." Never are you justified in such an attitude toward healing work. Whenever an appearance of discord is presented, that is the moment you must treat.

If you understand the principles of healing, then you know the conflict being presented has its source in the subconscious, which is not a mind but a belief in two powers, God and self. This appearance, this discord has no law of God, no life of God, no substance of God. Therefore, the appearance has no real Power to sustain or maintain itself.

If you know the truth the instant the conflict is brought to your attention, there is no danger of first taking it into your consciousness and then later having to lift it out and up. You lift instantly by knowing the truth under the principle of nonresistance. – Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1934.
