Laws in the Letter to the Hebrews
ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.–Hebrews 2:1
The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.–Hebrews 4:12
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.–Hebrews 4:16
Every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God.–Hebrews 5:1‑4
Ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.–Hebrews 5:12‑14
After he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.–Hebrews 6:15
Christ, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.–Hebrews 7:24
There are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.–Hebrews 8:4‑5
Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.–Hebrews 9:28
On Vicarious Atonement: It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.–Hebrews 10:4
The Atonement: Lo, I come to do thy will, O God.–Hebrews 10:9
Christ, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.–Hebrews 10:12‑13
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.–Hebrews 10:31
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.–Hebrews 10:35‑36
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.–Hebrews 11:1
Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.–Hebrews 11:6
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.–Hebrews 12:11
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.–Hebrews 12:14
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.–Hebrews 13:2
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.–Hebrews 13:8
