Edna Lister’s Lectures 1950

Comprehension
Edna Lister outline, February 17, 1950, Tacoma, WA, Matthew 6:22, Matthew 6:33, John 21:22, Matthew 5:25

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”–Matthew 6:22
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”–Matthew 6:33.
“Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.”–John 21:22
“Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.”–Matthew 5:25.
Comprehension is a knowing expression of wisdom and love. To know is pleasant and wonderful. Yet to act on your comprehension, you must become law and ascend in consciousness.
What you do with your comprehension depends on your practice of joy. Declare, “I rejoice in the fulfillment of this miracle, for all those on earth who may partake. Thank You, Father, that it is so.”
You gain and hold this high point of comprehension, to use it by your singleness of devotion. “If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”–Matthew 6:22.
To ascend, you must hold to an aspiration, to illumination, and devotion to something you consider greater than the self. In purity of heart, mind and purpose “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”–Matthew 6:33. Practice “What is that to thee? Follow thou me.”–John 21:22, and “Agree with thine adversary quickly.”–Matthew 5:25.
Love is the key to all this, the conquering of the petty little self. At the emotional level, love of self creates fear. Love of God creates faith. Passive and weak mental love, lacking a soul dimension, loses itself in contemplation, whereas when active and strong spiritually, love acts and does. Love is pervasive and aggressive, and can slip up on your blind side. As Spirit, love gives you the strength to be, and never stops working to change you into itself.

Revolution versus Evolution
Edna Lister outline, April 16, 1950, Tacoma, WA, Matthew 6:22, Matthew 6:33, John 21:22, Matthew 5:25

Revolution is “revolving around in a circle, turning upside down, a reversal of conditions, the overthrow of the old.” Science has revolutionized the world of things and power as energy. However, we are interested in the evolution of humankind into ever higher forms and consciousness, from creature to creator. Under evolution, humanity learns to use power wisely. Yet humanity has refused to become less selfish, and has not kept up with science. Therefore, the whole world is now virtually upside down in thinking and conscience.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”–Philippians 2:5. In this golden Christed Age, we must learn to use the mind that was in Christ Jesus. Yet we cannot use the same worldly mind to use the things science has produced, and do so in love, wisely. Science and technology have given us too much power, with no steering or brakes for control.
The former age opened in Egypt with Osiris and Isis, who formed a balance of love and wisdom. Their teaching was centered on the immortality of the soul and the unity of God as all things. The fiery star of Zoroaster in Persia, revealed Light as all things. In Greece, Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and love, and Athena, helmeted wisdom, carried further the woman’s age, which Isis had opened.
The Buddha brought the sign of the prayer wheel and rebirth in India. Moving from prince to pauper, he gave up material possessions. As an immaculate conception, the white elephant became his symbol of the hidden yet o’ershadowing Mother.
Jesus came to Judea, bringing the sign of the Christ, the cross of surrender symbolizing the crucifixion of self. Mohammed brought the sword with Islam. Originally, its hilt was to symbolize selflessness, and its blade, two-edged in love and wisdom, balanced. The sword was intended to be unsheathed only to destroy darkness, yet his followers turned it into a tool of force, a weapon of slaughter.
Yet, the universal Christ consciousness is awakening again in this age, and the signs of its fulfillment are displayed in the world’s rising evil and confusion caused by man’s repudiation of the Light. Women, who represent the love vibration, must lead the way to Christ consciousness.
“And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.”–Revelation 21:9-10. We know that prophecy is almost fulfilled because the seventh vial of wrath was poured out into the air as atomic radiation fallout.
“I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away.”–Revelation 21:1. Now the world shall see a new heaven and a new earth.

Promises Fulfilled
Edna Lister outline, May 7, 1950, Tacoma, WA

“Come unto me” the Master says, “all of you” with all of yourself. When you bring all your love, faith, devotion, and actions, they become rich seed planted for a rich harvest. Select the good seed. The choice is yours. You are always holding a choice in either hand. Yet, like an inexperienced child with a razor, your choice can cut deeply.
How wisely you choose depends on your individual integrity, and knowing the difference between force and free will—one is always pushing, the other pulling. Pushing from within is an independent self-will, and may fail you, as may pulling from the outside, which is dependence on another.

“Let Light pull you toward God, the Source of Light.”–Edna Lister

What substitute can you find for self’s push-pull? You must accept. Just as Spring’s increasing sunlight pulls the flower from a bulb, you must let Light pull you toward God, the Source of Light. Do not stop because another pulls on you, but push on toward the Light, letting it pull you toward your goal.
The soil is more than ready. Your abundance, your inheritance is waiting. As the lily bulb flowers, and the mustard seed grows into a mighty tree, you can gently and persistently push toward the Light.
When you are receptive to new truth, flexible to life itself, and balanced in prayer and action, the Holy Spirit descends. Life is your pathway of glory and, by walking it afire with zeal and zest, you ascend to the Holy Spirit. You harvest the triumph of health, strength, companionship, and love.
Declare, “I am now ready to receive my new position, my new salary, my new life and new love.” Outstanding persistence brings outstanding results now!

Edna Lister article, Golden Oracle Newsletter, September 1950, Phoenix, AZ

“Everything works together for good to them that love God” enough. Know ye not that I am the Lord God, almighty to deliver Mine own from all harm? Know ye not that it is My Love which surrounds thee unto thine own protection? Know ye not that My life is a life of Love which seeketh not for its own, but knoweth that its own shall find its source? Yea, so it is, for none may receive again unto himself that which he hath not already sent forth, and it shall also come back magnified and multiplied a thousandfold since it doth gather to itself many spirits of a likeness as it doth circle earth. Love only can change a vibration once it goeth forth from thy heart.
Therefore, search thy soul that thou mayest find thyself filled with only Love, My Love that doth change all into itself wheresoever it doth touch. Search ye and then see ye to it that no thing of the little self doth modify or dilute the Love that moves through thee. See ye to it that thou dost love with enough of My healing and mighty Love to give substance unto thine own creations.
Read 1 Corinthians 13 every day for thirty days, using the following statement after each reading: “Now does Love fill every cell of my body. Now does Love flow through me to fill full every creation of my desire. Love enough now possesses me to absorb all manners of darkness within and without, leaving me fulfilled as a Son/Daughter of God.”

Our Return to the Light
Edna Lister transcript, Ruth Johnson, scribe, November 14, 1950, Cleveland, OH

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”–Matthew 6:22-23. All darkness must return to Light. All must be enfolded into God’s Plan of Salvation. Jesus, the Only Begotten Son, is taking us back, taking evil and lifting it into Light. “If the Light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”
An inquiring consciousness that wants absolute truth. The difference between loving God and loving God the absolute, the God of all Creation—life, the world, the universe and everything in it—id the difference betwee trying to love a vague idea and The One who is ALL, including the minute parts of Him such as trees, flower and seeds. How many can say they love absolute God “just because”? When you hear a symphony or see beauty and ascend on it to love all of God, then you have it.
We have absolute principle, the foundation upon which we stand for all our healing. God is both principle and personality. God as personality had an Idea of form between the absolute and the relative or we could not have been created. That which came forth from the heart of the Light of God must return whence it came. Scientists analyze form and find the essence is Light.
Imagine a sphere within a sphere within a sphere as a diagram of our universe within Creation. The middle sphere represents the Holy Ghost as Spirit and Breath, the Son of all Light-as-Power, which filled the center-most sphere, our universe. The Holy Spirit, the Breath of Life enters our universe Number, creating the electromagnetic specrum, then as Color, and Tone. To have Form, the Father must speak the Word, which Names every form.

“A miracle is the difference between the absolute faith of God and the relative faith in God.”–Edna Lister

What is the Word? “Logos” is Greek for “Word.” John 1 reveals that the Word is a vibration: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”–John 1:1-3. So the spoken Word is a rate of vibration between the creative Idea and its manifestation in form by use of its Name. Every word is an explosion in the atmosphere and starts a whirling nucleus for form unless a doubt or fear tears it down. A baby star is born that way.
A miracle is the difference between the absolute faith of God and the relative faith in God. Since we start from Light we know that everything must be folded back into Light. Everything in you is determined by the amount and rate of vibration of the Light in you, which you must release to ascend. However, there is a price to pay if you don’t release that Light.
There is an abyss from Number to Name, which dictates Form—the vanishing nine (9). Nine is always a derivation of its multiples: 2 x 9 = 18 = 1 + 8 = 9. A 9 can reduce to nothing but a triple Trinity, such as Wisdom-Love-Selflessness, Father-Mother-Son, Mind- Substance-Power. Each one of the Trinity takes its position at the apex at different times, while the other two uphold it.
The faith that was in the grain of mustard seed holds the absolute pattern for a mustard tree; it contained a pattern, an image of the Idea of a mustard tree and it became that image. A novena 1 of fervent prayer fulfills a devotion that cannot be set aside. Any life or situation can be completely changed by seven days of prayer, 24-hours a day, when you hold only one idea, that God is all perfection, and let God into your life as your desire and will, and to take charge of your design for ascension.
The Breastplate of the High Priest holds mysteries regarding Number, Color, and Tone. The seven vital centers symbolized by the seven churches that represent seven Cities of Melchizedek, in which the Elect live when the light is withdrawn at the close of a Day of Manifestation.
The Seven Degrees (Neophyte, Disciple, Adept, Mystic, Master, Priest and Christos) represent the seven vital centers. The Mystic is one who communes directly with God. Mysticism deals with God the Father as personality. Jesus spoke of “the fathers” and for the Father. “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”–Hebrews 1:1-4. There are Fathers in every degree of the inner realms.
The Neophyte hears about truth, and thinks about it. The Disciple talks about it and tries it, hit or miss. The Adept becomes a do-er. All true healers are earning their Master’s degree as Adepts, at the least. They must live under self-control, that is, being in command of the self. Those three lower degrees rule on the Desire Plane and up to the 3rd Magnitude. Mediums draw information only from the Desire and Psychic Planes. You can pass the Gates of Light only by prayer and thus begin to integrate what you know of earth with what you are learning in heaven. You enter each new Ascension Order as a Neophyte. In the last three Zodiacal Houses—Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces—you enter the mediator class to pass through the Gates of Light to inner realms. The Master’s Degree is given only to the selfless servants of all Power.
As you pass the Seven Degrees, you also take 30 Via Christa Degrees on earth and three final Christos Degrees on the Sun. These correspond to the 33 bones and nerves in the spine. To pass through the 33 Degrees, you take 144 steps through twelve virtues in each of the twelve signs of the Zodiac. The four quarters are Capricorn, which is the Father’s Gate of Resurrection; Sagittarius, the Mother’s Gate of Ascension; Gemini, the Gate of the Father on Earth; Cancer, of the Gate of the Mother on earth.

1 A novena (from Latin: novem, "nine") is an ancient tradition of devotional praying in Christianity, consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days or weeks.
