In the Garden of Eden
Linda Mihalic, April 1982, Cleveland, Ohio
The Garden of Eden, its inhabitants and the events said to have occurred there, are described in the second and third chapters of Genesis, the Book of Beginning, Creation or Origin, called in Hebrew, Sepher Bereshyt. The Bible is our primary textbook on the Via Christa, and we consider it to be divinely inspired in origin, although mishandled at the hands of scribes and translators through the centuries. Our approach to studying the Bible is less dogmatic but more Kabbalistic in nature than you will find elsewhere. Our agenda is Christ-centered, the search for truth, not to defend or to push one set of beliefs in favor of another.
Kabbalah—variously transliterated as Kabalah, Cabala, and Qabala—is the study of Jewish mysticism, a tradition, a method of study that deals with the essence or true nature of God. The name itself, means receiving,
which implies the need for acceptance on the receiver’s part. Broadly speaking, you may receive the secrets contained within Qabala using one of three approaches—by personal investigative study of sacred texts, by oral instruction from a master of Kabbalah, or by direct mystical revelation to your soul.
A word of advice is offered here: Studying Kabbalah will not change you; you must change your self (not yourself
) to study Kabbalah. You may not rely on self in any form, not your body, emotions, your devotion, your mind, or your intellect, for self is of the world and will get in your way. Instead, as Edna Lister said you must obey God’s law and conquer self so completely that your soul holds the subconscious mind just like a mirror, with no personal thought, emotion, or consciousness. God then uses your mirror-like submind as a receptor of what the Light reveals to your consciousness, while you remain completely conscious.
From this perspective, you can see that the study of Kabbalah is quite different than studying the Bible as a history of man, of monotheism, of the principles of the Judeo-Christian ethic, or as the literal story of how God’s people progressed though the past 6,000-plus years. To those of us who walk the Via Christa, the Bible contains the full text of our contract for ascension, the complete Divine Covenant that God has provided to show us the exact nature of our relationship with Him: He is our Father, and we are His sons and daughters made in and of the perfection of His Light.
From here on, as I use the personal pronouns, you, we, ours, and yours, please understand that I am speaking to your soul. The collective we
indicates our relationship as actual or potential members of the Chosen or the Elect. When you choose God first, you are Chosen. When you elect to follow God’s laws, you are numbered among the Elect. The terms are syonymous.
The Sepher HaTorah, the Book of the Law: During the reign of King Josiah, who did well in the sight of the Lord,
the high priest Hilkiah, found a document called the Sepher HaTorah (Book of the Law) in the Temple in Jerusalem. Scholarly dispute cyclically waxes hot over who wrote what, and when. Scholars note that the first reference to any written Bible-related document is recorded in 2 Kings 22:8-10 and in 2 Chronicles 34:14-18:
Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the Lord given by Moses. And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it. And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen. Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
–2 Chronicles 34:14-18
Torah is the name given to the first five books of the Bible—Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy also called the Pentateuch (from the Greek, penta- + teuchos tool, vessel, book, from teuchein to make). Some scholars maintain that the document Hilkiah found could not have been the entire Torah because it was far too short: It was read to all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem in just one afternoon. Modern scholars believe this Book of Law was part of the current Deuteronomy, probably chapters 12-26, Moses farewell instructions, which contains a code of laws defining Israel’s relationship with God.
So Who Wrote the Bible? Although ascribed to Moses, Jewish rabbinical tradition insists that today’s Torah was written down by the prophet Ezra in about 444 B.C., following his return to Jerusalem when freed from the Babylonian Captivity, also called the Disapora (Dispersion or Exile when the priesthood, intellectuals, and moneyed classes were removed from Israel). He collected the Hebrew oral traditions and documented them as no other had undertaken. Ezra lived in a time concurrent with Nehemiah, Zachariah and Haggai. It is believed that either Ezra, Nehemiah or both were the authors of the current Torah, Joshua, Judges, the books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles.
The other books of the Old Testament are believed to have been written or recorded later than this generally-agreed-upon date of 444 B.C. The Torah and other books mentioned were canonized, declared authoritative in about 400 B.C. by a group of Jewish scholars called the Masoretes, the Traditionalists. At this time these books were made available in colloquial Hebrew, and no different translations were permitted after canonization. This Masoretic text is the only early text extant today, and is the same text used for all English language translations.
Why So Many Versions of the Same Thing? The King James Bible is the Authorized Version
because it was commissioned and approved by King James II of Scotland, an avid Bible scholar. Its Old Testament was translated directly from the Masoretic text; its New Testament was merely a reprinting of the older Tyndale translation of the Latin Vulgate, as was the Catholic (Douay-Rheims) version. Many 20th Century archeological discoveries of Old and New Testament documents shed light on these older translations.
Other translations, including the Revised Standard Version and New International Version, incorporated the more recent discoveries yet, in many instances, confused rather than clarified the text. The same holds true for other so-called modern
translations, which are similarly flawed, scholastically. Newer
is not necessarily better.
[An interesting newer translation, useful for comparative study, is The English Standard Version (ESV) is an essentially literal
translation of the Bible in contemporary English.]
Slavish unquestioning devotion to any school of thought is just as foolish as the hyper-intellectualism that breeds agnosticism tending toward atheism. People opt for one of these two extremes generally because our western educational systems close the question
on any topic or field of knowledge that they pronounce as settled.
History is full of examples of of the futility of this mind-closing approach.
Those who are new to Bible study often wonder about certain text characteristics. For example, words that appear in italics or parentheses in any Bible edition or translation are not special
words understood only by scholars. Such words are inserted in the existing text to create a more rational grammar; in fact, the italicized words do not appear in the Hebrew, which has a drastiically different tachbir or syntax.
Tradition maintains that the Torah was first written by Moses, who lived nearly 6,000 years ago, at the time of the events of Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy and Numbers. Whether Moses was really the author of the Torah has been continues to be debated by Bible scholars, and many scholars believe there were at least five different authors.
Having been raised in the royal house of Egypt, where record-keeping had been elevated to an art form, it is quite possible that Moses later did commission some documentation, as witnessed by the fragment found by Hilkiah. Excluding Genesis, the remaining four books of the Torah describe actual people, places and events, dating from about 3950 B.C.
Genesis: The Book of Beginning
Genesis predates recorded history. Genesis 1 is a relatively pure cosmology, which some authorities believe was adopted by the Hebrews from the Canaanites, Assyrians, Babylonians, or Akkadians. However, in some respects, Genesis 1 is much more sophisticated than any of these stories of creation. When read from the Kabbalistic point of view, Carlo Suarès said that Genesis 1 reads like a discourse on thermodynamics or an cosmologist’s explanation of the Big Bang. The remaining 49 chapters describe the origin and history of the Patriarchs and the twelve Tribes of Israel.
Genesis describes the Israelites’ Divine Mandate as the Chosen people of God, the transmission of some sacred ancient knowledge, and the preservation of that knowledge through what became the twelve Tribes. It outlines the evolution of the seed of life from animal to human form, the testing of this seed for viability under God’s Plan of Creation, and the awakening of divine potential in humankind. Genesis also describes the various states of evolving human consciousness and the potential in each for growth or entropy.
We search for truth in the Bible, truth about ourselves and about God, the God whom we worship. Many veils obscure the truth we seek—thousands of years of change and evolution; thousands of retranslations of oral history; the opinions, prejudices, blindness and non-comprehension of unknown numbers of scribes and translators. God’s Light moving through you will pierce these veils, and they shall be as nothing.
Kabbala provides an old-yet-new means of translating the Hebrew text. But what is Kabbala? The process and energy of life will overcome any container or resistance in order to achieve perfection and the cosmic freedom of soul to become any and all possible possibilities.
God said, I give that you may receive and eventually give to all others.
Kabbala is the cipher to a secret code, older than Moses, Abraham or Judaism. Tradition says that Kabbala was the body of accumulated wisdom recorded in code form as a document carried in Noah’s Ark from Atlantis. Einstein’s equation E = mc2 states that energy and matter are two sides of the same coin, that each may be converted into the other. What would happen if some global catastrophe (for example, the Flood) overcame humanity and we lost the meaning of E or m or c? How long would it take us to rediscover the key to such knowledge?
Kabbala is a key to liberating the finite mind and achieving the infinite freedom of soul. Kabbala is not a collection of knowledge, but the description of a process. Kabbala is a blessing of cosmic energy bestowed by God upon mind via the autiot, the 22 letter-numbers of the Hebrew alphabet.
The process of Kabbala insists that we always discern between finite mind and infinite soul in our thinking, perception, and creation. Discernment is difficult because we merely exist in finite time-space under self-imposed, imagined separation from the Mind and Presence of God. Yet discernment is possible because we are alive in our vehicle of infinite soul.
You must free your thinking from worldly constraints to live unbound moment to moment and not merely exist. You seek the timeless of eternity while existing within duration, and yearn for the infinite while being embodied in a finite vehicle and world. You desire the ultimate abstract absolute while perceiving the merely relative.
God is All That Is, both unqualified absolute and qualified relative. God is both personality and principle. God is both the infinite essence and God the finite expression. God is both Immanent and Transcendant. God has created time and space and is time and space. These statements, which Edna Lister made, are proven through Qabalistic study.
The Autiot: The Hebrew Alphabet
The term autiot means signs
; its singular form is sign = aut. The autiot are the 22 letter-numbers of the Hebrew alphabet. We speak of them as letter-numbers because each is the name of a letter, but is also a number. The autiot are energy transformers for the triune Godhead, the three Emanations of Mind, Substance, and Power, the River of Life flowing ceaselessly from and returning to the Throne of God. Each aut is a name designating a specific living energy and each is that energy!
The 22 autiot can be combined 2222 ways! The autiot work in us, through us, as us, manifesting themselves according to our perception of reality. Each aut has a different numerical value, called its gematria: 1-9, 10-90, and 100-900. Additionally, each expresses a qualitative value at different levels, which really should be viewed as a Möbius configuration (similar to a figure eight).
The autiot 1-9 express the basic prototypes of original Power emanated to be exercised as Energy. While these energies may be characterized as masculine or feminine, in the sense of positive or negative, associating them with gender will assuredly lead to confusion.
The autiot 10-90 express Energy in existence, kinetically active in time-space. These autiot may, in some instances, be related to gender.
Finally, the autiot 100-900 express matured, cosmically exalted Power returned to the Source as Equilibrium. These autiot may indicate ascended consciousness and/or sublimated substance.
Each aut may be examined in this way: For example, 2 represents any container or dwelling, 20 is any physical support, and 200 signifies the universe of time-space. From a virus to the universe, everything is contained within God.
ALEPH Subsuming YOD Becomes QUF/QOF. ALEPH = 1 is the prototype of Omniscience, the consciousness we must awaken to become alive, fruitful, to ascend, to become as our Father. YOD/YUD = 10 is existence, all we know or can think about, all that exists. QUF/QOF = 100 is Omniscience, cosmically exalted ALEPH, the conscious energy we will become. Life is a game is played between ALEPH and Yod within our consciousness, like the Zen concept of yin and yang and the Tao, the game of life, the dance of the soul, the interplay between the One and the many.
ALEPH is the inconceivable abstract principle of All That Is, both existent and transcendent. ALEPH is the origin of timeless, eternal maximum Energy, the Infinite in Motion. ALEPH is the consciousness in everything and is everywhere. Alive, ALEPH destroys mental structures to remain free and flexible. ALEPH lives, but exists only in YUD/YOD. ALEPH is Creative Immanence, a spontaneous, always fresh and imperishable pulsation of life-death-resurrection in an endless chain reaction.
To contain ALEPH is to kill it; things which have a most solid
appearance, rocks for example, are the deepest sleep
of ALEPH. ALEPH fully awake = 1000 is beyond finite comprehension; it is the Godhead. ALEPH lives everywhere, in everything, but acts in time-space only through its agent, SHIN/SIN = 300, the Breath of Life, the Cosmic Metabolism.
Yod means hand, and symbolically the Hand of God. By the action of the hand, with its opposable thumb, you as an embodied soul resist life and dominate nature. Yod is the universe of appearances; it exists but lives only in ALEPH; Yod is how ALEPH can appear in time-space. Temporal Yod is the finite which never rejoins infinite ALEPH; it can only be transformed into the infinite; it must ascend into the infinite. All structures are of Yod = duration, and inside them ALEPH is more or less alive, more or less asleep.
ALEPH is infinite or cosmic consciousness projected as Yod, finite relative consciousness, to become the universe of time-space. ALEPH is not just absorbed in the projected universe; it is reflected and returned to the Source so that universal life is a dual flow of energy. The One is twofold in its Emanation: Bereshyt bara Elohim et hashamayim ve’et ha’arets. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1 is an overview of the process of creation as seen from the outside. The remainder of Genesis describes creation from the internal viewpoint, as a process occurring within time-space; this is creation from our point of view as participants. Genesis describes the increasing complexity of the seed of life, the bestowal and subsequent development, growth and education of the human mind and living soul. Genesis maps the route of our return from Yod to ALEPH. We are Yod, seeking to awaken and become ALEPH.
Bereshyt Bara Elohim: In the beginning, God.
Let us understand this God, this Elohim. Eloh is the feminine noun singular, if God were one woman. Eloth is the feminine noun plural, if God were several women. El is the masculine noun singular, if God were one man. Elim is the masculine noun plural if God were several men. Elohim is a feminine noun with a masculine plural ending; the Elohim are a host of dual or androgynous beings. Edna Lister sometimes referred to God as the Fathers and hidden Mothers. Elohim means God the Fathers and Mothers, a revolutionary yet simplistic definition.
Kabbala translates Elohim (spelled 1-30-5-10-600) as the process through which ALEPH = 1) begets physiological motion = 30), enters existence = 10), acquires the appearance of evolution and resists = 40) life = 5 = HR) to create living beings. Kabbala further defines Elohim as is the process through which ALEPH becomes Yod and resurrects from that material transmutation. Life, in its oneness, descends from infinite to finite and ascends again from duration to timelessness. Elohim is the total process through which timeless ALEPH becomes temporal Yod, and this process generates organic living beings.
YHWH Elohim: Genesis 2 and 3 describe the Garden of Eden, its inhabitants and the events which take place there. In these two chapters, God is called YHWH Elohim, translated as the Lord God. Any change in or amplification of a name is vitally important in the Bible, for instance, man and woman, male and female, Adam and Eve. To the process of Elohim, we must now add the element YHWH, the sacred and unpronounceable name of God to the Hebrews, often replaced verbally with Adonai = Lord).
Kabbala says that YHWH is 10-5-6-5 = 26: existence-life-fertilization-life, an equation that expresses two lives in existence, which enrich each other. These two lives are the container = body) and the germ contained = soul), alive and existent. This impregnation may occur only in humanity; when it does not occur, YHWH is immanent but unborn. YHWH is the vital process of ALEPH within time-space, an incarnation which sets in motion human destiny. This incarnation is a germ which does not halt at any point in evolution. YHWH symbolizes the inner Light of humanity, humanity’s collective Oversoul; YHWH is what you become as you live in obedience to Law and function through Oversoul.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
–Genesis 1:26
Before going further, we must consider that man is created twice in Genesis, in chapters 1 and 2. Genesis 1:26 (26 is the number of YHWH) reads: And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness.
The autiot of this verse clearly state that man is created here as a living shadow of Elohim. Elohim is ALEPH becoming Yod = existence) and resurrecting to life.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
–Genesis 1:27
Genesis 1:27 reiterates this point and adds: And Elohim created the man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; he created them male and female.
The male and female aspects of humanity will be discussed later.
In Genesis 2, man is mentioned in the fifth verse; five is He, the number of life. Man is recreated by YHWH Elohim = Lord God) in Genesis 2:7. It is important to understand the verbs that are used to describe the creation of man: Assa (to make), Bara (to create) and Itsar (to form). These three verbs correspond to three Worlds of the Tree of Life: Briah, the World of Creation; Assiah, the World of Action or Making, and Yetsirah, the World of Formation. Let us begin a midrash (an explanatory note on scripture) of Genesis 2 and 3, excepting certain passages, which are not as essential to our understanding of the whole.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
–Genesis 2:1-4
Genesis 2:1-4: All bodies, all dwelling places, all containers of consciousness are given organic life and movement on the seventh day; the third Emanation is complete. Every jot
(yod) of the universe is permeated with the divine spark of ALEPH. ALEPH is buried in the earth = erets = 1-200-900, which symbolizes the universe as supreme structure, the Splendor of the Emanations. In the heavens = Shemaim = 300-40-10-600, ALEPH, the divine reality, is acting through its agent, SHIN/SIN = 300, the Cosmic Metabolism, the Breath of Life, to animate and energize all life seeking to ascend it from mere animal existence to achieve cosmic fertility.
Creation is dual in manifestation: Two lives come into being, inner and outer, personal and universal, the world of appearances and ultimate reality. Heavens and earth are two modes of structuring energy.
Earth maintains static continuity where set patterns are endlessly, uncreatively repeated. The heavens leads to annihilation of all forms that bind, a continuous cycle of death and rebirth that eventually leads us to achieve cosmic fertility. We are static Yod, seeking to become dynamic ALEPH. Buried in static continuity, we seek death to be reborn in ALEPH: I die daily…day by day, I die.
–1 Corinthians 15:31
Genesis 2 marks the beginning of the seventh day of Creation, the Sabbath; all subsequent events of the Bible take place on this Sabbath. ZAYIN = 7 = weapon is uncertainty pregnant with possibilities; 7 is mutability, potential openness to any alteration of an established pattern.
In existence, 7 becomes AYIN = 70, which means eye, source or fount; it is the root and source of ZAYIN = 7, and represents change or renewal. AYIN is the demolition of all structures, the vision of change, the activation of all possibilities, the Source of All Life. AYIN, spelled 1-10-700, is a general equation of the universe, the whole. AYIN appears seven times within these four verses, in each instance conveying a sanctification or blessing of freedom of choice. The autiot of Sabbath convey an unparalleled sense of freedom and joy. We are bound by nothing and should bind nothing that interferes with the blessing and sanctification of freedom: The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
–Mark 2:27
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
–Genesis 2:5-7
YHWH Elohim did not cause it to rain because the substance of earth has the capacity for transforming itself. Structure is purposeless until it is animated by life, and life requires opposition or resistance to become viable. These three verses illustrate that resistance is the key to transmutation of substance or transformation of consciousness. Like the analogy of chick and egg, the right degree of resistance in the shell is essential for the chick to hatch. Too little or too much resistance and the embryo dies. Resistance is dalet = 4, which means door.
The autiot for man, mist and ground are three keys to understanding essential resistance. Man is Adam, spelled 1-4-40/600, meaning the life of ALEPH is in the blood = dam = 4-40/600 of man. Life-death, resistance-existence equals cosmic fertility. Adam is ALEPH in the blood, which may simply absorb life and exist, or it may ascend to radiate cosmic energy: This is man’s true vocation, to radiate Light, cosmic energy, by transmuting his substance, transforming his consciousness.
Mist is ad spelled 1-4, ALEPH meeting resistance, enabling it to make a quantum leap in consciousness. This is the self-transforming nature of erets = 1-200-900 = earth, which generates a mist that arises to water the substance of the Garden of Eden. Ground is adamah = 1-4-40-5, the feminine form of Adam, Adam with the 5 = HE of life added. This is the substance of erets and the Garden of Eden.
The ad arises to water,
to fructify adamah, an astounding process: 5-300-100-5! The ad generates sufficient friction/resistance to open substance to the Breath of Life = SHIN/SIN = 300, exalting that substance to QUF/QOF = 100 = cosmic ALEPH in response, bestowing the gift of life = HE = 5. This is the permeating of life sparks, which prepares the way for bestowal of consciousness.
YHWH Elohim perfectly structures the universe from A-Z, from beginning to end, through man, the only being made, formed, and created—capable of being structured, creating structure, destroying structure, and of transcending structure. Man is formed of aafar = dust = 70-80-200, the source of universal transmutable substance. The AYIN = 70 of all possible possibilities is allied with the PE/FE = 80 of undifferentiated substance to open Adam to infinite possibilities unavailable to animals.
The number 8 = CHET, at whatever level it appears, indicates a reservoir of unstructured substance. This substance is added to Adam six mines in this one verse in the words dust, blew, nostrils, life and living soul. This Breath of Life is the Three Emanations as One, the River of Life. Here Adam exists, but is not wholly alive, nor capable of free-will response to the vibration of YHWH Elohim.
And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
–Genesis 2:8
YHWH Elohim plants a garden eastward in Eden and places there the name of the Adam he was creating. This planting
indicates a cellular structure free to become anything. The Garden of Eden is man’s brain, revealed as the most perilous place imaginable. Anything placed in this Garden is subject to an unending series of creations and annihilations, destructions, and new beginnings. This Garden symbolizes the fullness of your future, your destiny, and holds the greatest instability imaginable to prevent your seed of consciousness from ever crystallizing or becoming static.
Garden is gan spelled 3-700; it shows that the organic movement of life is subject to the destruction of obsolete structures or consciousness. This is the goal of of life, the final freedom. Of
is BET/VET = 2, your body, mind, memory or consciousness. Eden, spelled 70-4-700, is the source of cosmic liberation which lies in your conquering of the sensory world of YOD/YUD (illusion) and achieving the goal of life-death-freedom. Your consciousness is both players, ALEPH and YOD/YUD the ever-new and the static.
Eastward is meqadam, spelled 40-100-4-600; it reveals that two resistances—MEM = 40 and DALET = 4, conquering illusion and proving reality—generate the cosmic ALEPH, which is QUF/QOF = 100, and lead to cosmic fruitfulness. This combines physical and spiritual evolution, opening the glands and the higher creative centers in the brain. Edna Lister taught that the brain is in the Garden of Eden, and these verses prove that teaching of how the physical glands and creative lotus centers must be activated by ascension of consciousness to move from creature to creator.
And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
–Genesis 2:9
Genesis 2:9 describes what is planted in this Garden of divine destiny. Every tree pleasant to the sight and good for food
conveys the process of sensory stimulus and awakening. So far, Adam possess only masculine characteristics, while adamah, the substance from which Adam is created, contains all the feminine traits. This substance is capable of producing the sensory stimulation to awaken the sleeping germ of life, but the masculine and feminine must be combined within consciousness.
Two trees are planted in the middle of the Garden: The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, which represent the spinal cord and its connection with the brain. The Tree of Life = ets chaim = 70-900 8-10-10-600, is the River of Life open to all potential of the Sources and alive. Its unstructured substance = 8 = CHET, and potential for cosmic fertility = 600, are placed within time-space existence = 10-10. This is the etheric soul fire descending the spine.
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (ets daath tov vey raa, spelled 70-900 4-70-400 | 9-6-2 | 6 | 200-70, means the Splendor of the Emanations, the River of Life, is contained within the magnetic currents of earth and may ascend the spine through ascension of faculties of Daath, a Sephirah hidden between the spheres of Emanation and Creation on the Tree of Life.
Good = tov = 9-6-2 represents the static materializing action of the primitive female driven to sustain all structure, endless repetition of uncreative static patterns, mechanistic building with no new impetus. Evil = raa = 200-70 is the destruction of any and all static structures or conditioning; all structured energy = Shin/Sin = 200 is led to indetermination and freedom in AYIN = 70. The real nature of these terms, good and evil, is in exact opposition to their appearance in the world of Yod.
The Tree of Life is in the midst of the Garden (2 400-6-500 | 3-700), and is our destiny, indicating that some portion of our brain is capable of being the Tabernacle of the exalted cosmic ALEPH, TAV/TAF = 400, resulting in the freedom of Eternal Life = 500 =KHAF; this state is full co-creatorship with God.
A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
–Genesis 2:10-14
This passage describes the river divided into four heads, which issues from Eden. This represents the functioning, development of capacities and potential of the human brain.
And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
–Genesis 2:15
In Genesis 2:15, cosmic Aleph is bestowed upon unstructured substance from A to Z, and Adam himself, not just the name, is placed in the Garden. Adam is to till and keep
the Garden; in other words, humanity’s physical body must be refined to prepare it for inbreathing the divine fire, mastery and oneness with the universe. Humanity has entered nursery school.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
–Genesis 2:16-17
Adam is instructed not to eat from the ets daath tov vey raa because the seed of life is still too immature to survive the process of tov vey raa. Adam needs a higher grade of substance to survive and thrive. Since Adam is still just a potential here, initiating the process of tov vey raa would bring him maut ha’maut, a Genesis 2:18 foretells the creation of woman as YHWH Elohim decides to make a help-meet = ayzar = 70-7-200 for the Adam. Some ingredients for full development of the human seed are still missing. ALEPH, acting through the Breath of Life = SHIN/SIN = 300, generates potential and a physically fertile state, a receptive nature.
YHWH Elohim created all other creatures then put Adam to the the first test for viability of the human seed of life. Adam named all the creatures, but did not find anything like himself. This is the first test: The human seed must recognize that it is not creature-like in nature.
The Adam immediately recognizes his mate. More accurately, this should read: In this verse, man is created In its present translation, this verse has served as the basis for vast social and legal stupidities. The real message is that masculine fire is finally free to play the game of life because it now has a partner: From A to Z, masculine fire is now free in Adam’s consciousness and his physicality.
They were both naked. The adjective We must compare the gematria of These autiot stand for the creative fire. In humans, bound by time-space this fire is short-circuited or limited in its functioning. The serpent’s fire has no such restriction or limitation; it merely waits for a conscious triggering to bring it forth, to move it up the spine into the Garden of Eden to mingle with the heavenly fire.
TET = 9, which embodies female energy. This verse clearly states that YHWH Elohim planted every tree pleasant to the sight and good for food. YHWH Elohim commanded only Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge; the tree of life was not mentioned.
YHWH Elohim walking up and down in the garden at the breeze of the day describes anthropomorphic deity at its best—a god made in our own image and likeness. This passage is significant because it introduces the KAF final = 500 of cosmic Eternal Life. This Eternal life is what YHWH Elohim brings Adam-Esha in the garden.
These verses describe a question-and-answer period wherein YHWH Elohim determines whether Adam-Esha have fully merged their opposing natures into one divinely blessed spirit. Each is questioned and gives the right and true answer.
Genesis 3:14-15 records YHWH Elohim’s speech to the serpent as being Genesis 3:16 bestows the supreme blessing on the feminine nature and, again, there is a blessing rather than a curse. YHWH Elohim speaks to Adam, who is informed that the adamah grade of substance—the ground, which is supposedly cursed—is no longer sufficient to nurture the new gift of life and potential so freely given. The masculine nature, coupled with the newly emergent feminine nature, is now capable of great new freedom to structure new substance creatively.
This verse is number 20, which equals KAF, 20, physical support, and reveals that Adam named his wife Hheva, literally the As the 21st verse, this symbolizes the physical support of aleph, and describes YHWH Elohim making coats of skin as clothing for the man and his wife. These coats of skin are actual physical body vehicles, viable and capable of functioning this new energy and of becoming cosmically immortal.
YHWH Elohim’s announcement: Genesis 3:23 describes YHWH Elohim’s precautions against premature soul ascension or an aborted process: If the man stretches forth his hand too soon and attempts, inexperienced, to eat from the tree of unstructured substance moving through the inner and outer existence, cosmic fertility is crippled.
Genesis 3:24 deals with the three = GIMEL = 3 of functional energy or Power. Man must develop his functional energy (Power) to attain the universe (speed of light) and become the Breath of Life = SHIN/SIN = 300. To assure this, ALEPH fertilizes the female through the Breath of Life to become the principle of Freedom and Indetermination = NUN = 700. Only by so doing may the androgynous nature of mankind be revealed.
dead death
with no hope of resurrection.
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
–Genesis 2:18
Help-meet (ayzar) is the feminine element needed to balance the masculine, endowing Adam with vision to see the source, inner and outer vision, pineal body and pituitary gland. This help-meet corresponds to Adam, meaning the duality (earthly and divine) will assist the seed of life to mature physically and spiritually, finally overcoming linear gravity and responding wholly to paradise gravity.
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
–Genesis 2:19-20
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
–Genesis 2:21-22
deep sleep
described here is tardamah = 400-200-4-40-5, wherein Adam is blessed with the 4 of resistance at all levels, enabling him to reach the maximum intensity available to life. Damah spelled 4-40-5 is feminine blood: Adam’s blood is thus mated with the supreme Aleph, maximum cosmic energy.
Adam’s consciousness is freed; he is ready to learn and comprehend. He is elevated in potential above the instinctive intelligence reaction to conscious intelligence in action. As Adam sleeps, the Breath of Life enters time-space and opens the soul’s way to cosmic indetermination.
Rib = tsalaa = 90-30-70 communicates that Aleph at every level = 1-10-100 penetrates unstructured substance and consciousness, generates divine tension and equilibrium, both physically and spiritually, give it organic life and freedom to interplay in time-space to achieve self-fertilization.
YHWH Elohim forms a body-in-existence = 10-2-700 that is the potential winner of the cosmic game, a perfect feminine structure, able to find its Source, and from A to Z she is called woman: esha = 1-300-5. Esha is feminine cosmic fire = esh = 1-300; ALEPH acts in time-space only through its agent, SHIN/SIN = 300. Esh appears only at an archetypal ad cosmically exalted level; esh is alive, but does not exist. Adam’s name indicates that he exists but lacks the 5 of life = HE.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
–Genesis 2:23
I see, from A to Z, that my unstructured substance is alive and capable of becoming cosmically fertile.
Bone from my bone
means, In freedom, I may now perfectly structure my environment and create my reality.
The phrase flesh of my flesh
means I understand that my body at every level, is capable of becoming one with the All That Is and alive in the Breath of Life.
Adam names his mate Esha, feminine heavenly fire, which must now be mated with his earthly substance, adamah, to awaken the senses and the creative fire. Adam realizes that he, too, has another name, Iysh, masculine heavenly fire = 1-10-300, frequently the designation of an angel as a man of God,
or fire in existence within humanity. Adam and Iysh are indiscriminately translated as
man
in the Bible.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
–Genesis 1:26
male
and female.
Male is zakar, spelled 7-20-200, which indicates that man is potentially open to change and possesses free-will the nature of his evolution; however, the autiot that he is bound by time and space. This activity pattern is revealed throughout history; humanity constantly upsets and is upset by outer events = 7 = ZAYIN, while the inner 7 drives us to physical = 20 = KAF achievements and to conquer the universe = 200 = RESH. Zakar symbolizes the masculine ideal of the Universal Dynamic.
Female is neqivah, spelled 50-100-2-5, which indicates that the Cosmic ALEPH = QUF/QOF = 100 is active and existent within time-space as the impetus to cosmic consciousness. The autiot reveal that the female forever shapes and reshapes life = 5 = HE and consciousness = 100 to safeguard home = 2 = BET/VETand family existence = 50 = NUN. This is the feminine ideal of the Universal Dynamic.
These terms for man and woman, male and female, convey the idea that we are Androgynous Beings, as is Elohim (see Edna Lister’s Design for Ascension). Humanity’s nature is dual: feminine-masculine, static-dynamic, passive-aggressive, receptive-projective and centripetal-centrifugal. Difficulty in accepting this concept arises from the cultural bias that encourages role definition based on physical gender. To achieve cosmic fruitfulness as Adam = 1-4-600, we must unify this duality within ourselves and create a unity of being to becomes as Elohim.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
–Genesis 2:24
Masculine fire comprehends that feminine fire is the key to cosmic aleph, and that only by blending these two flames can their vehicles function in the universe as the Breath of Life. Life and existence are combined in a whirlwind of energy and mankind enters physical incarnation armed with life-death, substance and the key of resistance/growth.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
–Genesis 2:25
naked
means more than being merely nude; it means being vulnerable, without protection, uncovered.
Now the serpent was more subtil [cunning] than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
–Genesis 3:1naked
with that for cunning
—
Esha is endowed with the heavenly fire, the cosmic etheric currents from above, while Adam is endowed with the earthly fire, the magnetic currents from earth. These currents do not function independently; they must be combined within the creative fire, and then only in a limited degree. The system in which this occurs must function under controlled negative feedback; otherwise the physical vehicle would be destroyed.
The serpent’s—Nachash spelled 50-8-300—mission is to instruct the woman and, through her, the man in how this awakening must take place. The serpent is thus revealed as being the substance of the Breath of Life literally. Genesis 3 is an absurd story when told in the conventional manner. A talking snake appears to the woman and asks her whether Elohim (note: not YHWH Elohim) told her not to eat from any of the trees in the garden.
And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
–Genesis 2:9
The woman, apparently undismayed by meeting with a talking snake, answers that they shouldn’t eat of the tree planted in the midst of the garden (remember, two trees are there). The injunction against eating of the tree was never placed on the woman (she was not yet made), only on the man because the seed of life within him was not capable, at that point, of sustaining itself in the Tov-Raa process.
The masculine and feminine fires had to be merged in order to eat from the tree of knowledge. Only Adam would have died maut h’maut (a dead death), not woman; thus, she became Adam’s protection against such annihilation.
The serpent tells the woman that by eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge she will be able to ignite the creative fire so that the magnetic and etheric currents may merge, the vital centers begin to whirl, and true consciousness will be born in the human seed. This is a literal translation of Genesis 3:7. No apple or fig tree is mentioned, nor are any leaves.
What is said is that man-woman is learning how to incorporate the principles of resistance, life and freedom to unify consciousness. They acknowledge that they had lost their cosmic fire in their original mating and needed the fruit of the tree to rekindle it and restore them to full partnership with YHWH Elohim.
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
–Genesis 3:8-9
God does not ask, Where are you?
Rather, the question is, Is ALEPH alive and existent in your body vehicle as YOD?
Adam replies, From A to Z, from beginning to end, the Cosmic ALEPH moves me toward Eternal Life. Your Breath of life makes me comprehend my environment and how to live here. I know this gift gives me the greatest freedom possible to create within the universe and that by being faithful to You in this sphere of existence I will one day become fully at One with You in all Your Splendor and Cosmic Power.
And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
–Genesis 3:11-13
Esha’s answer, the serpent deceived me and I ate,
is totally mistranslated. She really says, I know that resistance to Your Revelation is the key to becoming one with You. If I remain on YHWH-yod’s side, I merely exist. If I choose only Elohim-Aleph’s side, I live, yet my existence comes to nothing. I understand that I must balance these two vibrations and be the Breath of Life embodied to live both in this world and universally. I can transmute the substance You’ve given me. Your agent (the serpent) has returned my heavenly fire, which I lost in blending my substance with Adamah, and I am now mature enough to blend the etheric and magnetic currents into creative fire.
This passage demonstrates that in Adam-Esha the masculine solar fire and feminine lunar fire elements combine to set the creative fire free to ascend and descend the spinal column.
And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
–Genesis 3:14-15
cursed…more than all beasts,
though the autiot reveal this curse to be a blessing. As life-death (ALEPH = 1) in the universe, you fertilize the universe, and from A to Z, you are alive.
This demonstrates that the procreative capacity of the creative fire is held between two poles (sacral plexus and crown centers) and between which it ascends and descends to maintain life.
On your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life,
means: Your ability to raise the creative fire is your key to finding your Source, freedom of action, and the energy necessary to structure your substance. When you have matured sufficiently to resist the world of illusion, I will say to you that you have won the prize of Eternal Life.
The enmity
referred to is ALEPH projected as yod in the human body, which generates life. Only by constant realization of this principle will the feminine nature achieve the freedom of ZAYIN = 7 at every level, and spring from being alive in an earthly sense (time-space), to the kaf = 500 of cosmic Eternal Life.
He will bruise you to the head
means that the creative fire moving up continues to blend ALEPH with life to maintain existence. It keeps the Breath of Life moving through all new unstructured substance according to a Divine Pattern; and Eternal Life consists of raising the rate of vibration to become the speed of light, to become ALEPH itself, to operate as the Breath of Life.
You shall bruise him to the heel
means that the feminine nature must resist illusion and the world of Yod (appearances) to remain factually alive, to structure new substance into Divine Reality and to achieve cosmic freedom while on earth by becoming quf (cosmic ALEPH) in the body.
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
–Genesis 3:16
Greatly will I increase your ability to structure substance in perfection so that you may achieve the fruition of My gift of Eternal Life. I hold you in the hollow of My hand that you may rule the universe as Me. I confer upon you the creative ability to sustain life at every level of manifestation and by becoming life-death itself, will you attain deathlessness as My Eternal Agent.
To do all these things, you must maintain perfect equilibrium between the duality of your nature, never letting either the Cosmic Dynamic or the Cosmic Static preponderate, but holding all in perfect tension.
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
–Genesis 3:17-19
Adam must sharpen the faculties of logic, reason, discernment, discrimination, and discretion to differentiate between illusion and reality, to bring forth the cosmic Aleph is QUF/QOF = 100 to become TSADI = 900, the Splendor of the Emanations as Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Adam is equipped with every tool necessary to transmute his substance and consciousness into the Breath of Life Eternal; that as ignorance he was born, and as perfect experience he shall return to the Source.
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
–Genesis 3:20
mother of all living.
She brings him the substance and the ability to form the structure of the human seed.
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
–Genesis 3:21
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.
–Genesis 3:22
Behold! The Adam has become as one of us to know good and evil
informs us that life is now cosmically free to become any and all things! The inborn resistance of the seed of life will carry it to freedom; there will be life and existence.
Aleph moves through this unstructured substance, and the resistance of life meets Aleph, converts it and brings all things viable to life. All the tools necessary are present to enable this seed of life to resist static repetition and the whirlwind of change in Tov-Raa. This is the bestowal of the gift of ability to create and to destroy structure in the consciousness.
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
–Genesis 3:23
Man must fully experience all phases of structuring reality and consciousness before he may resist ALEPH and achieve cosmic MEM. Adam must function the speed of light and become aur (light) itself, otherwise the seed of life will die in adamah. Adamah must be tilled from A to Z, meaning that the soul must integrate and transcend it. Only then may ALEPH, the living consciousness that is reborn moment to moment, animate the universe as the Breath of Life in man.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
–Genesis 3:24
All parts must be integrated into the whole, from A to Z, from beginning to end. The autiot for Cherubim, spelled 20-200-2-10-600 indicate that the soul must comprehend, integrate, and absorb YOD-ALEPH at every level. The soul must contain (as 2 at every level = 2-20-200) ALEPH-YOD in order to achieve cosmic MEM = 600. Only then will the soul radiate the degree of Light for which God fashioned us.
From beginning to end, from the single cell alive to all unstructured substance within the universal container, life is alive and capable of resisting aleph to the utmost, until it becomes the Cosmic Tabernacle = 400 of the living God in disguise. Then, and only then, is the final enfolding of the soul’s ultimate ascension possible.
