Spiritual Termite Extermination
Linda Mihalic, March 21, 1989, Cleveland, Ohio
Obedience to law leads to soul integration. Integration, a facet of ascension, means to consolidate parts to form a whole; its opposite is disintegration, or breaking a whole into parts. As an ascending soul, you integrate your fragmented parts, and consolidate them to build your soul's ladder to heaven.
Spiritual termites are seven deadly little "sins" of self that disintegrate your ladder of ascension: 1. idle words, 2. idle curiosity, 3. minding other people's business, 4. criticism, 5. unrighteous judgments, 6. condemnation, and 7. gossip.
Termites illustrate the idea of disintegration. If you act as your own spiritual termites, you eat the ladder as you go, then wonder why the rungs rot and break. To build a strong ladder, you must become a pest exterminator,
and work to build a self-resistant ladder.
Gratitude as Termite Spray. Some people live life being angry: I don't know why they do this to me!
Others are mad at God: I can't understand why God let this happen to me,
as though God is making them the world's prime victims. God doesn't make victims, but people do. Some souls are always busy, digging their own little pit into which they invariably manage to fall.
You will experience at least one crucifying crisis in life, which may leave you feeling like a victim. The grace of gratitude is the perfect curative for healing yourself of victim-consciousness. If you were totally loyal to your Source, no obstacle could ever appear on your path; nothing could get in your way. If you are in the Light, filled with the Light, nothing can oppose you.
Yet God cannot draw you to Him fully unless you have first declared independence from darkness and declared loyalty to your Source. He is not ignoring you, but you may be ignoring Him during your moments of relative unconsciousness.
If God ever stopped loving us, the world would cease to be. Love is the glue that holds the universes intact, upholds you and your life lines. You don't want to risk using any solvent on that glue. Nor do you want termites on your ladder of ascension, or solvents weakening your adhesion to the Source. You want to stick like glue to God, to keep that bond tight; you want Super Glue of the soul.
Each living soul comes equipped with a star out in space, literally, a furnace of joy that burns hot. Light fills your star with the divine substance that you draw upon for all life and creation. As you draw upon this divine substance, it expands you. You grow as you integrate your soul phases, the appetitive soul with the rational soul, and that combination with the Oversoul; then more of your Oversoul invests itself within you and you expand.
You stop dragging the past with you because you discover how much it retards your growth and hampers expansion of your soul. People drag a dead issue along because they don't really believe it's dead. Always you face the temptation to resurrect it for a farewell tour
and thus invite another termite infestation.
