The Living Light
Linda Mihalic, June 11, 2000, Cleveland, Ohio, Genesis 1:1-4, John 8:12
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”–Genesis 1:1-4
“I am the light of the world: He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”–John 8:12
Light is life and life is Light. Light contains all three Emanations as One, Wisdom, Love and the Logos. Wisdom planned, Love formed the molds of life and the Word filled them with Light, which animated them.
God spoke and Light was! We worship God as the Light. The Light is all that is. Light is primary substance, which we call life sparks, and the Mind that fills the universe. Light is God in action.
Science thinks it knows a lot about life and light, but its definitions are strictly materialistic and physical. We may hold one of two views of life: Vital or Mechanistic. According to the mechanistic view, the wondrous phenomena of life are merely processes and transformations obeying elementary chemical and physical laws; life is ultimately reducible to its constituent atoms, molecules, and nothing more. Aristotle authored the vital view; he believed in the existence of some vital or animating force that separates living from nonliving matter.
Scientific disciplines accept no single definition of life. Each specialty defines life its own way: molecular interactions, chemical reactions, natural selection. Both the vital and mechanistic views contain truth, but both are also flawed, because neither definition recognizes that Light is life. This is problematic: The materialistic bias has written every scientific textbook we have ever studied. We have all been brainwashed. Life is more than the sum of its parts.
Light, the primary substance of life sparks, fills the universes, and all substance is alive, to varying degrees, even if we cannot relate to that life. Since Substance and Mind are One, all material forms are conscious in varying degrees, even if we cannot detect that consciousness. Since Substance, Mind and Power are One, all material forms are active and energetic in varying degrees, even if we cannot measure their energy. Science estimates that the information content of a simple cell is about 10 bits, comparable to 100 million pages of an encyclopedia. Yet science does not accept the sentience of life in matter, calling it a chemical reaction.
Physical light is made of particles, called photons, that move in waves. Only in the 20th Century did science decide that light has two fundamental properties: 1. Light is a form of energy that can move through space at high velocity, 186,000 miles per second. 2. Light can convey information from one place to another. Light is much more than a super-fast carrier wave: Light carries God’s message to us on every breath we draw.
“Light is God’s conscious identity.”
Light is God’s conscious identity. Light is alive, conscious, sentient and fills everything. Light is alive, intelligent, nurturing and powerful. The authors of Genesis and John knew this and much more thousands of years ago. When we hear or read their words, we know they are true, though we may not know how we know. The answer is simple: Light carries law on its wings, as the Spirit that hovered over the face of the waters in Genesis.
Light is the source of your soul before you took on a body. Light is what your soul becomes when it retuns home to God. Light is the “Spirit of the Lord, which goeth before to make clear and easy the way.” Light transfigures us and is transforming us into our original “image and likeness of God.” The Source of All Light and life forms a two-way circuit for each of us, filling us with Light as thoughts, emotions and energy. Each of us acts as a step-down transformer to release that living Light into the world.
Living Light is harmony as it leaves the Source, but causes chaos and disruption in those who are unprepared for its arrival. The world is asleep. When Light descends as more life, it demands that we ascend in consciousness to meet its new, higher rate of vibration. We must achieve equilibrium under each new influx of living Light as Wisdom, Love and the Word, as Mind, Substance and Power. This is difficult. Light excites. What worked before under the old standard often breaks down under increased Light. Old coping methods, attempts to control, fail.
God has never stopped communicating with us, but we stopped listening. For millennia, we have lived as parasites on earth. A parasite grows, feeds, and is sheltered on a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host. A freeloader habitually takes advantage of others’ generosity without repaying. The time for that is past.
We must become symbiotes with our universe in a close, prolonged association that benefits each member. We must now live in a relationship of mutual benefit or dependence. The only way is to open and to expand with the Light. We must let the Light remind us of the laws that God has already written on our heart.
The Light can and will do all things for us, make all dreams come true, end every sorrow—but only if we let it. The Light is calling us.
