Soul Guidance versus Self-Will

Light moves through a situation only when you say, "This is good! Let there be Light!" Then time and space meet as the eternal now.

You can discriminate between Oversoul guidance and the use of force under the self-will only under Light. There is no self in soul. You cannot have it both ways; you can choose to have your credits on the inner or the outer, but never in both places at once. – Edna Lister, December 5, 1959.

Soul Guidance

Self-Will Aggression

Soul is restful and quiet.

Self-will is urgent and boisterous.

Soul is unhurried and waits for the right time to take action.

Self-will is insistent and forceful.

Soul unites people.

Self-will divides people.

Soul cleans up its own sins.

Self-will spotlights another's sins.

Soul always glorifies God and
gives Him the credit.

Self-will takes credit.

Soul is out for obedience.

Self-will is out for sex, success and security.

Soul accepts the Cross of Christ
in daily life.

Self-will creates crosses for self
and for others to bear.

Soul brings freedom.

Self-will creates frustration.

Soul leads to action.

Self-will makes you complacent and unreal.

Soul makes you live in the peace
of the presence of God.

Self-will makes you wallow
in self-righteousness.

Soul says, "I don't know,
but God does. He will tell me what He wants me to know."

Self-will says, "I know. You don't.
I'll tell you what you and I will do."

Soul requires rigid discipline of self – not cruelty or fasting until you've starved,
but balance under God.

Self-will gives the self unbridled freedom
to act the part of the soul using the conscious mind.
