Closed- versus Open-ended Questions

A closed-ended question provides a strict choice of response, such as yes or no, and requires a response with specific information. Closed-ended questions include loaded questions, which often ask for a specific answer and are therefore good for testing knowledge. Open-ended questions, which elicit more than a yes/no answer, lead to further discussion and enquiry.
