A Healer’s Notebook
Soul and mind are one in the same. All illness arises from some worldly idea that soul accepts, which then taints the mental life of mind, later affecting the emotional life, and finally the physical. All healing requires a metaphysical purification of the soul. Thus, healing is “restoration to wholeness” or “returning to health.”
My introduction to the healing arts began under Mimosa shade trees bordering the huge kitchen gardens of my maternal Grandmother and paternal Great Aunt, women born in the post-Civil War South, who had large families. They taught me food preservation, how to use kitchen hand tools (mortar and pestle, hand mill, grinder) and how to make elixirs, oils of peppermint and wintergreen, extracts, infusions, syrups, teas, tinctures, tisanes, and tonics. I loved making Grandmother’s Horehound drops best.
This background in home remedies amply prepared me for Edna Lister’s “kitchen wisdom,” which I later gathered from women who followed her, as if prospecting for placer gold. What I found opened my mind to our Father, God the Divine Healer, and His Son, to whom He imparted every mystery and secret of healing, chiefest of which are knowing the Truth, and the power of the spoken Word. The topic of healing so permeates Edna Lister’s work that we’ve collected these specific excerpts from her papers, correspondence, and students’ notes.–Linda Mihalic

Search the Scriptures, especially Psalms and Proverbs, for good, inspiring statements and declarations you can make your own. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”–Psalm 139:14. “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”–Genesis 1:31. “I am the LORD that healeth thee.”–Exodus 15:26. “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?”–Psalm 139:8-9.
“My body is now the temple of the living God and God dwells in His Holy Temple. God is in the midst of me, healing me. Every cell in my body is now filled with the life of God, is now alive, alight and alert with the life of God. Every cell that my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be surrounded by a wall of love, shall be melted, dissolved, absorbed, and made into pure spiritual substance.–Edna Lister, June 17, 1932
Always take your mind off the world of appearances before offering prayer or any healing treatments. Make God the center of your thinking. Release love constantly; tell the world how much the Father loves His children. Know that no matter the appearance of the situation, you are living in God’s inner kingdom of love right here and now. When you have released enough love, which is Light as divine substance, you shall have everything for which you have prayed. Praise condenses heavenly substance and brings it into visibility. Your words of praise are the perfect way to set the stage for God to accomplish miracles through you!–Edna Lister, August 5, 1932
The 1933 entries are all Clarissa A. Watkins’ typed verbatim transcripts of her shorthand notes. Since Edna Lister did not permit recordings to be made of her lectures or sermons, these are the best examples of how she spoke publicly.
Your mind, from infancy, is already completely intelligent and potentially spiritual. When you attain even a small measure of spiritual illumination, you perceive that God is your consciousness and your consciousness is the substance of all form. God is your consciousness, which appears outwardly as form. You cannot transfer your consciousness to another, nor can he transfer his consciousness to you. Once you perceive this truth, it forever lifts you above competition. Never again, whether you are in business, the arts, science, the healing or the spiritual ministry at any level, will competition disturb you. You will be free because you don’t have customers, clients, patients, or students. You have your consciousness, which externalizes itself as whatever form is necessary to you.
Once you understand that there is no God and, you know that there is no consciousness and. Therefore, you do not have your consciousness and your business. Your business is your consciousness in a specific personalized form. Your customers, clients or students, whom you have gathered through your integrity, represent your consciousness in form. No one can ever take them from you unless you lose your integrity; then, of course, they would find their rightful home elsewhere. The bread you cast upon the waters is yours; it cannot return to another. The bread you cast forth must return to you because no separation exists between your consciousness, the bread, or the waters. All is consciousness, appearing as form, and so it is!
Nonresistance is the principle of healing because you never use Light-as-power to heal anyone of anything. You learn in this work that you cannot use spiritual power. You can use physical power, you can use mental power, but you cannot use spiritual power. When you enter the realm of Spirit, power uses you. You cannot use Light-as-power because Light-as-power is omnipotent, and you are its servant. Therefore, when you work according to the principle of nonresistance, you do not try to use power to cure disease, to provide supply for anyone, or to overcome sin. You just know the truth that every appearance of evil is simply a form of mental malpractice. It is nothing more than the subconscious, which has no law, no cause, no life, no substance and no activity other than what you give it.
Healing is not something you do, not just something that happens to you. Light-as-power does the healing work by using your consciousness as its servant.–Edna Lister, January 1933
We open the doors to the chambers of our hearts, hold up all our ills, and those souls we want to help, into the sunlight with us. We place them on a cloud continent in the sunlight. We lift them to a cloud continent of Light to become joy, peace, happiness, love and good health. Oh, Father of all Light, please release Light through us as the power of love. We open our minds to receive understanding. We are one with all things, with each other. We agree with Thee, and we know that the answer to our problems, the solutions to our difficulties, the healing of our minds, bodies and affairs are about to be given to us. We are ready, and according to the completeness of our faith, according to our ability to look unto Thee, putting all our faith in the Supreme, so shall it be poured out upon us. So shall it be given to us. Amen.–Edna Lister, January 11, 1933
It is always God’s perfect time to let us have whatever we need. Your statements of truth must be of two types, specific and general. Specific statements could be as follows: “I am (Name), I am ready for my teacher. I am ready for my life’s partner. I am ready for companionship. I am ready for for perfection. I am ready for my very own. I am ready for my work to begin. I am ready for perfect health. I am ready to give perfect service.”
“Nothing can touch me that does not belong to me. Only my own can come to me. I am (Name), coming into my very own. I am accepting my new position. I am accepting my promotion. I am accepting a marvelous increase in salary.”
“I am filled with the Life of God. I am filled with peace. I am filled with poise, ready, and accepting. I am now receiving! I am now building my new eyes. I am now praising and loving God. I am now praising the world for its beauty and perfection. I am now praising and loving my family. I am now praising God and loving my new position at work.”
To yourself, say, “Name, you are now building your new body. Name, your body consists of pure spiritual substance. Name, you are building a new and perfect heart. Your heart consists of spiritual substance. Name, your eyes and perfect, and you see with the sight of God.” etc. “Name, This is God’s perfect business. I am now filled with life and Light, with completeness. I express poise and assurance. I am now drawing to me all that I need,” etc. “I am releasing the power of love and it goes forth to melt, dissolve and absorb all darkness, and to establish perfection.” Should you feel compelled, speak aloud, and even shout to release Light-as-power more dynamically. Use definite tones of command, intense conviction, and use the name of the person being treated.
General statements are also necessary. “My body is now the temple of the living God and God is in His holy temple. God is in the midst of me, healing me. Every cell in my body is now filled with the life of God, is now alive, alight and alert with the life of God. Every cell that my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be surrounded by a wall of love, shall be melted, dissolved, absorbed, and made into spiritual substance. If I go to the uttermost parts of the earth, Thou art there, even to the utmost depths. There is no place I can touch where thou art not.”
You can make general statements, using this I AM rhythm: “I AM that radiant life, I AM.” I AM that Light, I AM that love, I AM. I AM that strength, I AM. I AM that power, I AM. I AM that health, I AM. I AM that joy, I AM,” etc. Some teachers use and teach their students to use the rhythm of nine declaration, but I use groups of three, such as: I AM that peace, I AM. I AM that peace, I AM. I AM that peace, I AM. I AM that love, I AM. I AM that love, I AM. I AM that love I AM. Use these statements always. If you can use them ten thousand times a day, so much the better.
For relief from a condition, to emancipate yourself from some condition, or to attain a new position, say: “Thy kingdom is come in my life. Thy will is now done in me and in all my affairs.” Say, “Thank You, Father, that I am now receiving my increase in salary, I am now accepting my new position, I am now a radiant light.”
When a thought of fear, lack, or doubt crosses your mind, make your statements with more power, put more emphasis into them. To rid the mind of fear, say, “I, (Name) am now filled with the confidence of God, I am now overflowing with the trust of God, I am now expressing perfect wisdom, confidence, assurance, and perfect faith.” Fear is a lack of wisdom; the beginning of wisdom is the end of fear. Your body has trillions of cells and each carries memory impressions. The subconscious mind is the repository of this ancestral stream, which forms the background of physical heredity. The first two parent cells, the sperm and ovum, expand their substance and extend their burgeoning consciousness to four, the four to eight, and so on until the memory capacity for consciousness is completely formed and ready to be interpenetrated by the subconscious mind. Through this living network of mind, you are subject to impressions, repressions, complexes, illusions, hallucinations, and obsessions impinging from the outside. If any of these affect you, sit in silence, eliminate emotion, and reason it out by the clear light of day.
An infant in the cradle is open to every vibration from family to the whole neighborhood. You are no different. You’ve brought with you all the impressions and ideas planted in your mind before and since birth. Every repression will eventually break out, crying to be healed. Complexes are built of unconscious impressions and experiences. You eventually will have to work out every idea implanted in your mind. How do you heal this? Surround every infant you see with divine love. Imagine that it is cocooned in Light, surrounded with a wall of fire, which nothing inimical can penetrate, and declare it so. Declare that a sphere of love surrounds the body of every unborn child, and no expression or repression from its mother’s mind can make it less than perfect. This circle of fiery Light protects the soul.
As you enter the Golden Silence, gather and bring together all your lines of light and responsibility to your near and dear ones, and hold them up in arms of Light. Hold them until you have the sense that you are touching their physical weakness, the stomach, head, or whatever place is weak. After lifting, speak the Word and the Light-as-power does the work. With closed eyes and relaxed mind, know that you are one with The One, the All That Is. Know that you are a radiant being of Light, that you can do now release the power of love. This power goes forth to every place, fills your body and mind with inspiration, illumination and understanding. With hands up before you enter the silence, send forth the power of love to fill your whole body with Light. Enter the silence carrying Light to every cell of your body, melting, dissolving, absorbing, and transforming every imperfection into God’s infinite perfection.
When you retire, relax and extend your consciousness to the sun, then say, “Let every revelation I receive in the night register on my conscious brain cells. Dear Heavenly Father, please increase my capacity to love, to release the power of love, and increase my loyalty to principle.”
Love always builds a bridge from the seen to the unseen, from the visible to the invisible, from the manifest to the unmanifest. Work to have everything you should know, given to you tonight. Ask to become selfless love and loyalty. Then repeat, “As oil mingles with oil, as water mingles with water, as air mingles with air, so does my life expand and mingle with the life of God.”
A prayer for the Silence: “I am standing in the Light, a radiant center of Light. In this very moment I am the center of a great radiant Being of Light. I am wide open to receive this inner revelation and this inner power, which I can express. I am a seeker after truth, a seeker after the hidden wisdom religion of the universe. In this very moment it is being revealed and I am open to receive it, and it shall be poured out in great measure, pressed down and overflowing. I am ready. Let my eyes be opened to see, my ears to hear, and my brain cells to register. Amen.”
Those who need your help are sent to you in accord with the natural laws of affinity for healing. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”-John 10:27.–Edna Lister, January 16, 1933
To heal you must lift the one to be healed to a cloud continent of Light, and see them permeated by Light. The solar plexus radiates into the auric envelope, which takes on the form of the thoughts you think and the emotions you entertain. The Light-as-substance of your aura mingles and passes through the auras and bodies of others, affecting them, transforming everything it touches, into itself and vice versa. This is why you must always surround yourself with Christed Light-as-substance. If you radiate Light-as-love, you lift everything you touch. If you are angry, that wave of anger permeates your aura, and changes it to orange and red, the vibration range for anger. You then drag down not only yourself but all those whom you contact, and open yourself to infection by the exchange of life sparks. If you remain armored in Light-as-love, you are protected and cannot take on anything inimical. You still tune in on others’ vibrations but nothing can touch you nor will you shed a negative vibration to harm anyone else. Declare every cross-vibration is lifted so that it cannot leave the walls of the room. When you have asked for protection the great universal laws protect you against the reaction, and no reaction can take you out of the body. Love does fulfill the law!–Edna Lister, January 17, 1933
Before entering the Silence for healing, especially for the laying on of hands, you must have a formula, a definite scientific statement of intention. The Silence is not mere concentration. If you enter the Silence with a statement, say for example, “As oil mingles with oil, as water mingles with water, as air mingles with air, so does my life expand and mingle with the Life of God,” it makes you far more God-conscious.
For the laying on of hands, holding your right hand above the place in need of healing is best. The subconscious mind follows the motion of your hands and frees the conscious mind to receive instruction from the super-conscious Christ mind. Activity intrigues and lifts it to become one with the super-conscious. You cannot enter the Silence if you have any resentment in your mind. Always analyze or classify the ideas presented to you according to the five categories—psychology, metaphysics, science, philosophy, and mysticism—which are five phases of truth, and consider them in their relation to each other.–Edna Lister, January 20, 1933
“Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”-Isaiah 65:24. When you surrender to God’s Light-as-power, you release your soul from bondage to self, and in so doing may release many other souls from their bondage to the world of material things. Declare, “Let love go forth through every situation of conflict and need. Let love fill every room in every home in this city.” The sacrificial fires you light this way are limitless in their power to heal and make whole because enough Light added restores the soul’s integrity. When you surrender self to the power of God’s love, your sacrifice of self frees many other souls and their desires—all those who are close to you in degree and kind.–Edna Lister, January 23, 1933
You may have been working on a problem earnestly, faithfully and untiringly—perhaps you have seen the good fruits of your labor in the perfect healing of a dear one. Then you may hear someone else claim that he or she was the channel through whom the work was done. This is a test, nothing more than a trial. Thank God that He has accomplished the healing. Do not claim any part in it yourself or ask for recognition. If you silently relinquish the credit, then whatever your part in the healing may have been, you shall receive 100 percent of Light-as-power added.–Edna Lister, January 25, 1933
We will now bring into this room all of our friends and our families. These are magic walls and stretch out to enfold all we want to bring in. We lift them up and know that the right ideas will be poured out upon them, that they will be sent into the right places, will see the answers to their prayers, will see their wide-open doors. There are doors on both sides of the path, but we shall look neither to the left nor to the right. We shall go straight to the door at the end of the lane, which is ours. It is wide open and the Light is shining through. Hold to your determination to win through!
Prayer: In this very moment we are agreed as touching all of these truths and we are lifting up, oh Father-Mother God, all those who are close and near and dear to us, seeing them whole, perfect and complete, and those who seem to be incomplete, we are holding them up for greater perfection, and to pour forth perfection upon them. Their bodies are filled with the Light of health. Let it radiate into their affairs. We are holding up situations and businesses in this hour, which is God’s hour of fulfillment, the answer to prayer, the solutions to the problems. The doors shall swing wide. The influence which has pushed us forward, the stepping stone, those who have despitefully used us, or wounded us. We hold them up, we are surrounding them with the Light, making them our footstools. We are lifting them higher, and they shall lift us higher and ever higher. We are open of mind and heart in this very moment and ready to receive. That which is ours shall be poured out upon us in great measure, pressed down and running over with twelve baskets left over to share. We declare that we have already received, and it shall be so! Amen.
The Beatitudes in the Sermon on the Mount are meant to be the basis of our daily living. As we master life we move beyond the limits of immediate family to include the whole of mankind as parents, children, brothers and sisters. We become more open-minded. We are all creators born and destined for success, but our internal resistance to change bars us from creating perfectly every time. One key to fulfilling the Beatitudes is to work for the good in the Silence within, not talking about what’s wrong, but remaining silent under fire, never flinching. As we work in Silence we become more perfect instruments to send forth the God’s Light-as-power. When we finally do hunger and thirst for righteousness, after the right use of power, we shall be filled. Vicissitudes come to make us hunger and thirst after righteousness. Declare: “I care not what comes from the outside, this one thing I do: I press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”-Philippians 3:14. The very name of Christ invokes greater Light-as-power.
The old adage says, “Your chickens come home to roost.” Every piece of bread I cast forth upon the waters is returning to me slathered with butter and jam! Not a thing I’ve sent forth is lost, but it shall pay me increased dividends. What you do will return to you accoring to the golden rule. It is only our own hardened crystallized thought that keeps our bread from returning to us. When the furure looks barren and bleak, our good is at hand! So declare, “This is my sign that all I am asking for is here now. My greatest good is still on its way to me, and I steadfastly declare it is so!” Love brings peace, and peace is a keynote of the universe. Live in peace with serenity as your main attitude toward life.
You are always releasing Light-as-power, and what it does in the outer world is determined by how you use it, what your thoughts and emotions are, and what you picture in imagination. If someone persecutes you and you pour out love upon them, it gives you an opportunity to pour out still more love, and your own form for your own good is filled faster and “your own” is added unto you sooner. If you are thus motivated to give of love and peace, yet find yourself in the midst of a great deal of strife, it is a sign that your headlights are showing! The Light in you stirs other souls to their foundations, bringing all their darkness, conflict and strife to the fore. As you lift them up, you receive your reward. This one thing I do to reach my own hour of fulfillment for the good.
Individual treatments Miss Lister gave to members of the audience: “Here and now, oh Father-Mother God, we lift up this loved one, knowing that in this instant, she is surrounded by this radiant Light, that her body is the temple of the living God, we declare her touched by the power of love made free, whole, pure and complete. We declare it, and it shall come to pass! Amen.”
“Oh Master of Light, whose we are and whom we serve, touch now this thy handmaiden with the power of thy love, and let every nerve in her body be made a flaming channel of love, that she may be filled with rest, calmness and Light. Dissolve, etc. We declare her freedom, and it shall so manifest. Amen.”
“We hold up to Thee in this moment this loved one. His body is the temple of the living God, filled with divine ideas of confidence and assurance. The cells of his body are alive, alert and alight with the Light-as-power of God; he is filled with the life and strength to go forth and achieve. And it shall be so. Amen.”
“Here and now we hold up to Thee this group. Their minds are one with the mind of God, their hearts are filled with understanding and illumination. The power of love fills and surrounds them, lifts them and sends them forth to achieve and conquer. Amen.”
“Fill now the body of thy handmaiden with the power of Thy love that in this very moment these nerves shall be a flaming channel of the power of love, that this bloodstream shall be made perfect and complete, that she shall be filled with assurance and confidence, that every unlikeness to God shall in this very moment be melted, dissolved and lifted up into perfection. It is so and it shall come to pass. Amen.”
“Here and now we lift up to Thee this loved one, knowing that every cavity in his head is now vibrating with the Love and the Light of God, is now transformed into absolute God likeness, and in this very moment, we declare that he is touched into life and health and all good by the power of love, and our words are the Spirit of life and they shall manifest. Amen.”
For a wife who had just lost her husband: “In this very moment we hold up to Thee all the lives that dwell with her upon her ship, knowing that she has assumed the responsibility for lifting them, etc. We declare that they are filled with and surrounded by, the light. You are steadfast to hold them up. And it shall be so. Amen.”
“Fill now the body of thy handmaiden with the Light of God, that in this very moment every cell shall be alive, every organ shall function divinely and perfectly, that she shall be lifted up, that her mind shall be freed of all the ideas of the past and she shall go forth glorifying the Master for her healing,” etc.
“Your body is the temple of the living God, every cell in it is alive with the Life of God. These optic nerves are now fulfilling their purpose; they are now complete; they are now radiant with the life of God and there is nothing can withstand the power of God’s love. You are touched by the “Finger of God” and your eyes are open and you shall see speedily. We declare it and it shall come to pass. Amen.”–Edna Lister, January 29, 1933
Let us bring in all our lines of Light and responsibility, hold them up and know the truth, that we are holding up every person and every one of God’s agents, all situations, circumstances and conditions of our lives and the lives of our dear ones, and those who have broad interests and broader responsibility: we are holding up the world, and we become a group for service.
We have opened ourselves to release more selfless love. We are willing to be lifted. We are willing to lift. We are willing to serve. We are willing to go wheresoever we are sent. We are willing to accept our position of service for God, to have health poured into us and out upon the world, to allow our families freedom of thought, to never speak a word, but to pour out love, to be guided, sustained and protected, to have abundance poured out upon us, to have our minds filled with inspiration and illumination, and to receive in this instant, and in this attitude of acceptance, this eager expectancy, we are ready to receive, and our own shall be added to us. It is so, and it shall manifest. Amen.
A question answered: Cure hatred this way: Say, “You are so fine and generous, so great and tender. I love you because your love is so sweet,” etc. Praise him for every good you have ever seen in him and name his good points. You hold him in the hollow of your hand when you pour love out upon him. In this inner kingdom you cannot lose your own good, not in any way. The obstacles you meet are just opportunities to unfold and grow. You are your judge and own officer. You determine which way you will go.
You have been given charge of the family where you are, at home, at work, or wherever. You stand at the head and have the lives of your family in our hand, all on your ship. Your privilege is to lift them and to love these laws. You can fill them so full of love that they can’t live by any law but love. You can love anyone you want up into the Light and see them change into it. You can lift yourself, your burdens, family, groups, the world. The higher you lift them, the higher you will be lifted. Are you pouring out enough love? Let’s pour out enough love this afternoon to make it possible to do these things.
Treatments: “The power of love holds you up steadfast, you cannot be disturbed or touched. You are filled with strength and confidence, the ability to achieve. You are inspired to lift your family.”
“We hold up now to Thee this child, knowing that the flaming power of love is now going forth and touching his knee with the Light-as-power that heals. All pain is transformed into ease and comfort and in this very moment he is well and complete and it shall so manifest. And to you, the desire to go on, the ability to lift, to send forth the power of love so that all that is given to you shall be perfect and complete, shall manifest according to your spoken Word and desire. We declare it so and it shall be so.”–Edna Lister, January 31, 1933
Applying laws mentally is a really a waste of time in the lomg term. Instead consider laws as the metaphysical framework, the backbone of Spirit. To apply the law as love will do it, for love makes the law perfect. Just so long as you are unable to pour out enough love to neutralize the situation, your efforts will fail. If you fill people with love, their animosity can never move past the verbal criticism stage. Increase your capacity to love, your devotion to service, and lose the power to behold evil. You will then be able to look at the other fellow and know that you are responsible for him, and to pour out more love upon him to help him become more perfect. Open the doors farther back into the past and pour love back over that line to make it perfect. Hold up those in the flesh and those who have passed to the other side.
Prayer: “God is the Light-as-power, and the power is working. It is not I, but the Father who doeth the work through me. As we lend ourselves willingly to His Light-as-power, it flows through us and goes forth into manifestation. We are one with Thee, with Thy Light-as-powerPower, and with each other. We are opening our minds and hearts to greater understanding. We are willing to stand steadfast, knowing that God is almighty, all-perfection, all-wise, all-loving, all-just, all-good, and these things shall manifest to us, through us, and as us. We are lending ourselves, we are eagerly expectant of perfection, and we are now receiving that which is our own. We are ready. Amen.”
Unless you are teaching another one-on-one, maintaining silence about what you are doing is best. If you tell people what you are doing, you immediately involve yourself in their worldly vibration, inviting questions. Fear makes people antagonistic and they may create cross-vibrations. Mind produces psychosomatic symptoms, so do not discuss what you are doing, or how you are treating. Instead pour forth love as you surround them with Light and work in the Silence, unseen and unheard. You can pray for them anywhere, at any time, mentally. At night or when alone, you can speak the word of release for them, and you’ll get better results than by talking about it. You may send Light-as-power to a crystallized situation in someone’s physical, mental, or emotional affairs with a simple “This is good! Let there be Light!”
You can release Light-as-power simply by seeing the person in your mind’s eye and saying, “Let there be Light!” The more often you send forth from the Silence, and the less your speak about it, the better. Speaking of it limits you and scatters your focus. Maintain your focus on God’s work and stand silent under fire as you would while basking in sunshine. Stand joyously silent for if you engage in talk, you create more to overcome. People may credit you, but your true reward comes from God. Go straight to the Heart of God’s Light and close out everything on the outside. You can release more Light-as-power more quickly if you always go to the same place for your Silence.
I begin my Silence with this prayer: “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed is Thy name. Thy kingdom is come and Thy will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Thou hast given us each day our daily bread, and Thou has forgiven our debts as we have forgiven others. Thou leadeth us not into darkness but deliverth us from all evil. For Thine is the kingdom and thine is the power and thine is the glory forever and ever, Amen.” Live today and don’t fret about tomorrow. Smile more! Be joyous. Look your best. We must look the part of a radiant instrument. God is our banker. He has our treasure and we are so rich that we should pour love forth upon everyone in the world. We should shine forth! Our religion should make our faces radiant and our lives beautiful.
Anyone whose hand I have touched cannot get away from love, ever. We may not see the results of the love we are pouring out, but it works silently and forever. There is no great or small in the kingdom. We are all great. The time it takr for healing and miracles is determined by the amount of love we pour forth. Take others by the hand and never let go of them, keep pouring out love upon them. Throw out negative thoughts, emotions and pictures. What is necessary is recognition that love is your destiny, acceptance of that love and surrender to it.
You judge yourself, and you are your own judge. You place ourselves in the cosmic scheme of things by the way you talk, by the thoughts you send out, clothed in words, you judge yourself. Do not dare to take time to judge the other fellow. You must lift and not push him down. Deckare that he is perfect, whole and complete, that he is standing beside you in glory, freed of limitations. We must all reach the point of being unable to react to the another’s mean word or deed. When we judge and criticize, we are condemning ourselves. “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” If I lift all men, I shall be lifted up! If I am busy lifting everyone, every condition and circumstance, that is what I should do! You should lift everything you see. Open the doors and windows of your mind! Don’t recognize and surrender to criticism, but recognize it as a stepping stone and an opportunity to go higher.
No one can do anything to you that you cannot declare good! No one can stand between you and what is your own. The world cannot limit you; it cannot keep you from expressing. If you live this way, with this attitude, you can easily smile your way through. The value of a smile is that it begets other smiles and joous laughter. Your smile must be expectant and joyous. Form the joyous smiling habit. Mentally ask God, “What have I done to call this forth? This is mine, Father, so please let me lift it.” Pour forth love, breathe deeply, then enter the Heart of Silence. You must have serenity of spirit, and put on a smile to represent this joyous serenity within. People react to your smile, then you react again, with a bigger smile. Breathe deeply and no one can do anything to you. Ask for greater illumination, greater capacity to smile, and breathe deeply.

The fifth degree of breath is the first of the three spiritual degrees of breath, which you breathe simultaneously with the physical breaths, not through your nose, mouth or lungs, but through the crown of your head. The fifth degree of breath is the first breath you inhale that reaches down to the solar plexus, which increases self-centered “will.” When modified to purity, the fifth degree of breath increases the sixth and seventh degrees of breath until they become like ozone—so fiery that it would char the lungs if inhaled undiluted without sufficient training and preparation. Most people cannot and do not reach the fifth breath on their own, but they may do so during a revival, for example, where many people unconsciously begin breathing at the same rate—their excitement raises the overall vibration much higher. Another way they may experience the fifth breath is by entering a trance state, usually (but not always) involuntary, as they near puberty, a time when they “daydream” their souls partially out-of-body. Parents who recognize this “floating” state do their children a favor by speaking their name to recall them to full consciousness by saying, “John, get back into your body!”
The sixth degree of breath enables you, as the soul you really are, to think abstractly, while you apply logic, reason, discernment, discrimination, and discretion. When your will and desire become one with God’s will and desire for you, your breath powers your spoken Word to create miracles instantly. However, you may not take a single unlikeness to God into the sixth or seventh degrees of breath, for such taints unleash a deadly physical resistance at the heart. To purify your motivation and volition as you breathe deeply, on the exhale, say, “As oil mingles with oil, as water mingles with water, as air mingles with air, as light mingles with Light, so does my life mingle with the Life of God.” Thus, you can lift every selfish, willful desire to be purified, to become one with God’s desire for you. When your desire and breath become one, your spoken Word goes forth and stands as you have declared it.
The seventh degree of breath is the great degree of the All. When walking the Via Christa—breathing deeply and declaring yourself to be a radiant Spirit of Light—the Light flows through your life sparks, atoms, molecules and cells and lifts you even higher in perception, discernment, and consciousness. The absolute balance of the three higher degrees of the seven breaths are the healing degrees: Unless you obey the laws that govern your physical, mental and spiritual phases of life, you cannot bring healing to pass, or go forward and upward in ascension of consciousness. For example, Jesus raised the vibration of his body until he was no longer simply a man, but was an incarnation of the Logos, the descent of the Holy Spirit as the Holy Breath in man. Holding your inhaled breath is an easy and effective way of improving your lung capacity. Begin by sitting straight in a comfortable upright chair, holding your breath as you count as high as you can comfortably. To be cured of any disease, the patient must be relieved of the idea behind the manifestation. Once you cure a person of the idea of the disease, it works out as perfect in outer form. You must be cured of the idea. The instant the idea is cured, the body slips back into its native good health. The first time you speak the Word, the work is done, the healing has gone forth and health is established. It is finished on the inner.
Renounce the old ideas of the past. After you have lifted high enough for Light to consume, they enter in no more. Keep your eyes fixed on the perfect, by the most strenuous effort. You could add health, abundance, love, social life, success in business, all things else into every treatment. The good comes in proportion to the effort you put into making room for it and declaring that it has come forth, but yyou must obey the fundamental laws of doing until the good becomes your being.
Love is the conqueror. Love is irresistible, invincible, complete, and you must send your love out on the wings of joy, twenty-four hours a day. Your heart must be a garden of praise, a paean of thanksgiving, just “because” you love God so. Joyous praise is the shortcut to all manifestation. If you need it in a hurry, pour forth enough praise and it will come to you in a hurry. Love determines the amount, praise determines the time elapsed, and you must use both to be complete. Praise that you have cut down the time until things happen right now!
Desire is a creative flame. You must desire to express more of God, and keep your flame must burning brightly all the time, to fill the form and increase it. The imagination determines the form the manifestation will take. It will not perfect, if your pictures in imagination are not perfect, square and complete.
A surprise approach in psychoanalysis can uncover true facts the patent has hidden from himself. Jesus told the woman at the well in Sychar about her private affairs. Jesus was an all ‘round teacher, who used many methods. The self-righteous scribes and Pharisees wanted him to condemn the woman caught in adultery, but he wrote in the sand instead. What did he write? From the private life of each, the truth they did not want uncovered. Jesus wrote “Cheat” and one saw the widows and children he had defrauded of their inheritances. He wrote “Murderer” and another saw the friend he had slain for money. “Adulterer” and another saw the women and young girls he had seduced. Each saw his own crimes and silently slunk away until none were left to accuse the one whom they were anxious to stone, and none threw the stone he held. Jesus was reading minds, and hearts in psychoanalysis.
When you ask in faith from Jesus Christ, you have it in your hand. Then praise God that He has already given you what you asked for, adding, “Let it come to pass. Let it become visible. Let it come into complete visibility. Let this heart beat in harmony with the heart of God. Let this business send forth such service that it draws its own unto itself.” Obey these instructions in seeking the Kingdom of Heaven, and you don’t need to worry. You are then in the Kingdom. Give, give, give: or lift, lift, lift, and—love, love, love.
We cannot pour out enough love on any day or on any given occasion or situation. The more we pour out, the more our capacity increases, and then the more we will find to pour out more love upon, progressing always upward. Love is the great and definite law, the fulfilling of the law. Stretch yourself until you are able to expand and surrender to the power of love itself, completely. The message of the mustard seed is surrender to the power of love. The law of the lily is to grow today, to use everything in your life today as if it were to be the last day of your life. Live each hour this way and your days will be more perfect. Praise God, praise each other, praise everything always.
“He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.”-John 14:12. Do you believe this? Your acceptance of this truth will determine what your life will be this next year. Why? Because today the Light-as-power released is greater. Just as our ancestors used hard tallow candles and rush lights, now we have electric light—so, too, we can release greater power through our brain equipment, if each and all would use the power they have. We have 22,000 trillion cells in our body.
You can releasase sufficient Light-as-power through your upraised hands free a physical body from the “ice stage” of a paralyzing illness. Only greater Light can cure a false or mistaken idea. Declare, “This is good! Let there be Light! My faith, which I surrender completely to the power, makes the truth of God’s healing power manifest now!” At night, review your day to see if you’ve poured out enough love every second of it on everyone and everything, every situation and condition, then pour more love through the past, on your neighbors, and enough love to create what you need to manifest in the visible tomorrow. Then praise God more!
And your desires today?—Have they all been constructive? And imagination?—What pictures have you built today? Strive to make them all perfect. Pour out love and praise as you imagine perfection. Flash pictures against a movie screen in your mind. What about your spoken Word? Have you sent forth the word in love today? How about irritation? Have you seen everyone perfectly, as being perfect today? When you rid yourself—your mind, your consciousness—of limitations, you’ll discover why you don’t manifest miracles of healing. If anything in your life has grieved you, pour love upon it, for love is the fire that consumes. The fire of love consumes every old emotion, negative thought and picture that you have already let build a form in the subconscious. This is how to open the closed doors to the past, to cleanse the memories. You can’t close the door and thereby repress or ignore memories to be rid of them. If you still see someone doing something to you, find the closed door you must open. You have an affinity for anything that annoys you, so you must erase the memory of it.
This is how to be God-consciousness. Hold onto this awareness, and lose yourself in joyous recognition of truth: “The kingdom of heaven is everywhere I look or step. I am in the kingdom now, for it is within me. My presence in the world extends to include all whom I meet. You can only raise or lower the rate of vibration of the substance involved in healing. Divine Power is potential until God exercises it by releasing it through His Creation where it emerges as energy. We measure this detectable power as energy, by its rate of vibration—the frequency and wavelength of its electromagnetic energy. However, limiting God’s “allness” by assuming that we know all about universal Light-as-power is an error in perception. The materialistic reasoning that dictates reality as being limited to what we can measure is deeply flawed.
No healing is possible unless you set aside the negative effects of prior experience. For example, having a “broken heart” affects the heart itself. You must learn to assume the responsibility to gain new experience in other nondestructive ways. Do not work at healing one moment then let go of your plan the next. Do not begin to heal one problem area then immediately start something else in another area. In short, you must learn how to direct and control your own emotions and reactions before God can trust you with direction or command over His Light-as-power. The planet Saturn can play a major role in your health and well-being according to how you apply and obey certain universal laws requiring maturity, discipline, responsibility, and right conduct. Saturn’s return to its original position in a birth chart includes three periods of contact—a direct transit during which you lose what you have not rightfully earned, including ill-gotten gains. Depending on your reaction to the loss, the retrograde (backward) transit will either strip you further or restore a fraction of what it took. God answered and told her she could do so with just a little more love, and a little more praise. So she poured out her love of God in prayer and praised Him until she fell asleep. God’s ways are so mysterious and yet His wonders are performed. His miracles are brought to pass day after day. At a lecture over four weeks ago, a man came in before the meeting holding his right hand within the left, looking ill and in pain. The hand was bandaged. I was waiting in the back where he walked up and down, so I went to him and asked what was wrong. He told me the day before his blowtorch had broken and in order not to burn the woman’s curtains or start a fire, he’d had to carry it out the front door, with the full flame on his right hand. A third-degree burn down to the cords, muscles and bone—all flesh gone from front and back across thumb and up wrist. The doctors told him he’d never use the hand again—it would shrink even if they didn’t have to amputate!
Meanwhile, I was giving him a treatment, taking all anger out of it by using our own Healing Methods. When he was finished, I told him what I was doing—using the example of a cut, when nature fills in the cell tissues and heals leaving only a scar! Told him how easy this was when left to the Father while praising. Before I finished most of the pain was gone. By the end of the meeting it was practically gone. Afterward I spoke to him about how easy it is to trust God.
I saw him on last Saturday night. He came 40 miles to show me his hand! Well! A horrible red scar, huge, all over hand and wrist. He shook hands, fingers all loose and working, muscles and cords free! Healed. Perfectly. He was so happy! So was I. The most perfect healing the Father has ever done through me, I think. Saturn rules the body’s bones and joints, so swelling and stiffness in the joints often accompanies ascension of the body as it breaks up old crystallization. This is a normal part of the ascension process, especially when there has been chronic ill health. The joints and bones are the last parts of the body to refine in ascension of the cellular and molecular bonds into light. They often seem to swell painfully even under ordinary conditions. The Legions of the Christ are in charge of sacking the remnants of souls that have created and participated in great acts of evil. Prayer groups of the Elect the world over participate in aiding the Legions by speaking the Word to drive the evil ones into containment “corrals” where they are bound in a great sack of invisible Light, taken to the Sun’s corona and transferred to the “eternal fire” (Matthew 18:8). As you speak the names of those who have done great evil they are then used to attract all similar floating entities to be sacked. These brutal ones are not men but demons in human form. Those who cling to them are their victims or willing followers; at the time of sacking they can be parted from the evil and salvaged whenever possible. Now is the time to heal those who cling to the demonic ones. Lift only the victims, not the evil ones.

You must rechemicalize the body in order to heal any organ or system within it. To treat the intestinal tract, you can use Slippery Elm bark powder with Red Clover tea. Take a heaping tsp. of Slippery Elm bark in water or 2-3 400 mg. capsules every night before bed—blessing it with prayer first. Slippery Elm bark adds bulk and is slick, so it relieves stomach trouble, digestion, constipation, and hemorrhoids. It thoroughly lubricates the whole intestinal tract so it aids in shedding bacteria, other microbes, parasites and their eggs. Slippery Elm protectively coats ulcers and irritation hot spots and speeds healing.
Drink 2 cups of cleansing Red Clover tea every day. Red Clover is poison to false growths, scar tissue, adhesions–they just curl up their toes and let go. Both Slippery Elm bark and Red Clover tea absorb foreign substances, then melts, dissolves and flushes them. They literally “pass away.”
You have to help yourself while and as you pray. Keep your imagination stayed on perfection for what you want, and thank the Father for it in advance. Do not dwell on the need or pain. Keep your mind stayed on the good, the things that are pure and just. A prayer is your highest thought about anything at that moment. Three-quarters of the world runs on a plan of too little physical strength to do the job. This is really the escape complex of the slacker who seeks to avoid discipline, work, effort or responsibility. The necessary mind, substance and power you need to do anything is always right at hand.
For healing, the left hand summons the cosmic etheric currents and the right hand pumps them toward the area of need. The right hand summons and adds the magnetic currents of earth. In healing, move your hands in a figure eight pattern: rotate the right hand clockwise under the left hand, and nearest the body. Rotate the left hand counterclockwise above the right hand three times. Then pull out the congested energy and direct it off and down into a vat of fire—see this in your mind’s eye until it is as routine as putting on your socks and shoes.
Before a lecture once, I (Edna Miriam) met a man whose hand was very badly burned. As I lectured, I was aware of a line of light between them because he was open to being healed. I prayed and Light was released through the line to his hand, which his doctor had said would be shriveled and useless. Three weeks later he returned to tell me that he was back at work as a welder. He held out his hand and it was healed!
When some need strikes your awareness, you must train yourself to know that you will have a miracle! God’s winds always blow for you and with you. When you lift every need to God, His hands hold it all. Your obedience to this law must be more than simple submission. It must be a burning desire to become the law of vigilant awareness. By your own choice and effort, you have come this far, but you can always go farther, higher. You can set any soul debt aside by lifting it to a cloud continent of Light and working on it in prayer and self-discipline. Otherwise, you must work it out with the people and events in your life. The soul lives on the vitality it gains through breath. Your soul builds muscle and bone on physical food from earth. When the impulsive appetitive soul is cleansed, no room remains for self, or thoughts of excusing self! When you’ve finally cleansed enough self, you will offer no “buts” or ask, “Am I right?” Only the little self poses such a query to prolong its dominance. You will remember nothing except to do ever greater works. Do you wish to continue feeding your present ideas of weakness? Give them up! You can do anything you want if you want it hard enough to give up your weakness of thinking, desires, motions, fears and doubts about it!
You must vitalize, quicken and transform every cell of your body to a higher grade of substance before you can slough it and lift it to the Divine Refiners’ fires. In purifying the old, you may entertain no disgust for the formerly distasteful, nor excuse self.
As you lift and conquer soul taints, old cells are transformed at the molecular desire body level, and the soul burns away the silver cord, freeing the soul to ascend. Many try to force this sublimation, which only wastes the incarnation! It leaves them with a ruined body, a bad heart, practically a suicide. You may not force into being anything you have not earned.
It takes 20 years of hard continuous effort to accomplish complete sublimation, but you can compress it into a few months, according to your eagerness of desire, and the heat and greatness of your sacrifices of self. Healing is based on understanding of humanity. The candidate for the healing arts must give up all materialism. Those who are trained will be initiated at each step, and must pass tests on personal responsibility, and become love and wisdom in balance. Only this can do it. Healing work always takes place in two dimensions: the invisible inner and the visible outer. The angelic Guards (guardian angels) in charge of both the healer and the patient, work together to control and direct the magnetic currents running through the healer’s physical body to the patient. They stand on either side of the patient, siphon this energy from the healer, directing it through the patient’s feet to the body part that needs healing. The healer need not be present to do this; he can stand, sweep his arms up, outward, down and up again to just below his heart level, and the currents will flow to the patient. Do not stand on an insulator, such as a rubber or animal fur mat, which will dissipate the magnetic power. The patient’s Guards combine the healer’s incoming earthly magnetic currents with the cosmic etheric currents pouring through the patient’s crown, and direct this mingled energy to the affected area where they create a tiny explosion of healing Light.–Edna Lister, June 20, 1949
To worry about a case in need uses and wastes the healer’s own soul substance, and nothing good results. You must work to heal you before you treat anyone else. Stand in the Light, love God and you will come to your own destiny. Dig out every old idea and image, every past negative action, and leave them out. To remember them recreates them! Forget the past! Cleanse your past by getting more Light for it! To “forget” means to “get Light for.” Lift past ideas, images in memories to a cloudland altar and cover them with Light inside a pillar of fire to consume them. This is how to indraw and lift all misused soul substance from the memories, which purifies and makes them into Light to be returned to you as a cleansed mind.
In healing another, aligning the molecular desire body with the cellular physical is the first step. You do this by moving your hands in a figure eight pattern: rotating the right hand clockwise under the left hand, and nearest the body. Rotate the left hand counterclockwise above the right hand three times. You will sense a “rightness” when the two bodies align, or you may “see” it happen. Next you repeat the whirling motions of your hands as described above to align the physical and desire vehicles with the atomic mental body. Repeat these steps again to align the seven fiery sun centers with the lesser vehicles. The higher bodies of the one in need will wax strong, and their whirling activity will fan every life spark into life and Light to treat their physical body.
Needs Work: Cleanse your mind and heart of any “enemy” ideas. Assume blame for anything that has happened to you in the past. Nonresistance and forgiveness. Forgive me for arousing the other fellow to anger. The law of forgiveness is the greatest. Assume responsibility to lift everything that has ever happened in connection with anyone else. Put them on a cloud. Assume responsibility by prayer, no blame. Turn face up, and love God enough, pray. “Take care of them, Father.” Love to God for God to cover transgressions of everybody. The Law will work. When you pray, lift face, chin up, eyes up, hands up. Give love to God, devotion of your heart. Put your project, your desires, what you want from the Father on paper. Sleep on it nine nights. Have a rite, ceremony. You are opening a new vibration. Pray, declare every obstacle from the outside is consumed. Repent. “The Light of my Star is pouring through into everything I do and think the straight way. The up way is the straight way. I am God’s daughter. I am before the Throne. I am perfect.”
We are the best God has to express His Glory for things that have not happened yet. I am alive, alight, glowing, alert with the Life of God. Every brain cell is alive and alert with the life of God. First Desire mating with Love. The I AM begins to see you have to give up self. Second, if desire and will are in conflict, you can’t agree and adjust. This is God’s. Third, give up conflict. Alcoholic healing: Substance is divided into seven types. One-seventh was used for each Day of Creation: Cells, molecules, atoms, and subatomic particles. We form pictures, good or bad, to create molds from atomic substance. We may not use a brush, but imagination paints the form in atomic substance just as definitely as if it were paint applied to canvas. So we, with our creative faculties, paint pictures according to our desires.
Standing before the alcoholic you wish to heal, paint a picture of the Master as he appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration. Add the invisible atomic substance until it is complete. When the addicted person is tempted to drink or to otherwise feed his addiction, the Master himself sends a ray of Light that vitalizes the mold and says, “No, Son” (or Daughter), and places his hand over the drink or the person’s mouth. Declare that the lifted desires of the one in need will seek God instead. Using invisible substance build gloves of Light that reach to his elbows, declaring that these gloves cannot pick up any harmful thing. Place shoes of Light upon his feet (“I walk in the paths of righteousness and peace”). God’s will for you is 100 percent perfection. Ascend to where the Light-as-power can use you and you will not be knocked down by hangover debts. The law is perfect. The wanters, wishers and hopers wait for a good time to do it. You have to do your own gingering up. Anyone who believes the body has its own metabolism can rebuild their body because the Light of the living God can reform or recreate substance. The breathing of almighty Light is the basis for healing.
Rest for five minutes before meals, and drink tomato juice, mint tea or grape juice when resting before meals. They all help to offset fatigue. Make a five-pointed star of your body. Those who have suffered inflicted sadism have lost part of their soul substance. Ask the Father to use Light to lift and return their soul substance to be purified and restored to them. Speak the Name if you know it. Use your hands to scoop out, down, and lift it up to shoulder level. Everyone is ascending, at least part of the time. Sometimes we recognize our soul debts and help another. At other times, we fail to see and may withhold aid. Helping the other fellow to lift, no matter what, is part of the Christos work, and when you work from this standpoint, you become a Christos Adept. As a Neophyte, you hear about ascension of the body. The Disciple talks about it and tries to improve, hit or miss. All demonstration of ability or expertise is under the Adept Degree. Realizing this, the Father often says, “This person must be healed,” and you take on a bit of pain as a “point of force” for immediate healing. The minute you surrender to the Father’s almighty Light, you become a Mystic.
You take Light-as-power in through the left hand and give out through the right, yet you must always protect yourself, even when you heal. If you cannot treat them in any other way, say, “Come here,” and give the contact up to the Father. To treat a fever, rotate your hands (right hand above the left) clockwise above the patient. Touch lightly with the left hand and throw the heat out with the right hand. For cleansing, hold your hands in the invisible Eternal Flame, and finish by holding them under cold running water.
From the time you begin to lift, you breathe inspiration, the pure spiritual Breath of God. It descends through the crown of the head, down the spine to the solar plexus where it draws from the magnetic currents to create an explosion in the pneumogastric plexus behind the stomach, the site of the appetitive soul brain, the abdominal brain.
As the etheric currents descend, the magnetic currents of earth ascend through the feet and the lower vital centers at the sacrum and the spleen. The two currents meet at the solar plexus, explode and form the atomic nuclei of energy called the “seeds of life.”
One seed ascends directly to the pituitary gland to ripen on the 28th day. It remains another 28 days until another explosion releases a new seed that expels the ripened seed to enter the pineal body to water the brain. This vitalizes the personal soul records encoded on the neurons of the midbrain. {This process describes why some women can bear children after the menopause, why some men and women are barren, and why contraceptives sometimes do not work.} To avert pregnancy, declare that the seeds of life arise to open the soul records, water the brain cells and go out to “feed the nations.” This makes you a greater channel for Light and lifting.–Edna Lister, October 2, 1950
You must accept a healing spiritually and mentally before you can be completely healed. When every cell in your mind and body accepts the healing that the Master has given you, you will be healed. For someone who has passed over, declare: “Let the high healing lights of heaven flow over Name and through his or her body, vitalizing and quickening and restoring his or her soul substance that he/she may be consciously healed.” Declare that every container used for alcohol is filled with a love potion of healing from God, turning all desire upward into devotion for Him.
In cases of wrong-doing, declare, “The Light of the Living God is moving in through all dark places. The Light of Almighty God is now bringing all the chicanery and darkness to the surface to have it lifted. On this problem, I arise, and I lift.” You can let in only as much Light as the self you move out of the way. Healing is a state of grace in the physical cells; grace is the first daughter of the Mother of Love, which is pure harmony at the Source. Any physical state that needs healing is a lack of harmony, which is being out of tune, each organ doing as it pleases. Love provides the proper timing; the rhythm of the whole universe is set to love. A lack of timing in the body is a lack of love, which sets every cell in tune or in time with the others. A continuous state of grace sets the timing for a miracle of healing. Any negative thinking, especially fear, doubt or turning back to a thought of delay puts sand in the gears and carburetor. The 5th degree of breath is pure prana, the pure Breath of God, which you intake the 5th degree of breath through the atoms of your hands and your whole body. The atoms of your body are so constructed that it only becomes energy. If you let the new atomic substance move into your atoms and declare that poisons are consumed, this is the secret of healing. This is what happens when you give a healing treatment under divine Law and say, “Let it consume darkness.” It will consume whatever you declare because it is the consuming fire that consumes darkness, all negative things. Say, “You are under divine Law to consume only that which is darkness.” Where do you place your faith? In the power of the original substance to consume poisons, which do not dare to remain in the body but are lifted. Take care of your body but for healing, go to the atomic substance of which it is made. You can use everything on the outside to the glory of God but first cure yourself of the idea that anything has any power over the pure Light of God. Faith is atomic. You cannot see faith. Do not mention anything of the body to anyone or to self by word, thought, picture, emotion or action. No asking for sympathy, no self-pity. No rebellion that “I have to do this when I’d rather be doing what I want.” God is in all, in the water, the substance of all I touch, and this heals my hands. This is good.
I said I was confused, and Edna Miriam said, “Confused? The only confusion is in your subconscious opinions and prejudices vying with your rational soul to ascend, and the impulsive appetitive soul pulling the other way. Every time you have a pain, breathe deeply, hold it, let Light move through the painful place, and exhale. If you are going to become love, you can never stop loving. If you have a headache, love it. Edna Lister writes of a luncheon meeting she’d had with a woman who represented a large religious organization: We talked about the religious organization; she had been there last year for 2 months, and such a disillusioned Teacher! After all her fine former work for them, not one entertained her. She told me that something was wrong with all Leaders there. They are so hard. They talk of themselves, “I think this. I think that.”
Because I’d talked so frankly to her in ‘33 and ‘34 of the mistake they were making about their old Leaders, so she confided in me very fully. Then I saw ‘The Master’ walking toward us across the surrounding Water Lily Pond. Smiling. And found myself telling her about ‘sacrificial selflessness.’ How unless they make a sacrifice of self the ‘Christ Spirit’ cannot move in to possess them. And how I’d found out about permanent healing. To have each one ‘Sacrifice on the Altar of the Christ’ the one greatest resentment or ‘problem of personality.’ To declare their ‘enemy’ perfect and hold to it. I talked of what we ‘believe’ and ‘become,’ if only for an hour! Then she blessed me beyond measure while the Master said, “This is your Mission, all accomplished and complete.”
She said, “How very beautiful. This has changed my whole outlook. I see that the ‘Secret of Healing’ is Sacrifice of Self. First by the Teacher, then by the ‘patient.’ I am so very, very grateful to you for giving me this very great gift!” You know how deeply grateful I was and am, and how I saw in a flash that I was not to appear before the public there—she will teach the ‘full Way of Sacrifice’ to them now—and from a deep-seated Inner Conviction. We cannot blast evil from earth until evil opens fire against the Light! It may not be opened by Light. Light must be beneficent and ever left to change all into itself as healing. Only when evil seeks to conquer Light in ruthless ways, declaring itself to annihilation rather than be healed, can Light move forth and absorb evil and send it forth into the Abyss for its long, long pilgrimage of purification.
We are ready for this process, or as ready as Light can ever be called ready, to blast and reign for a space under destruction even of evil forms. From Edna Miriam’s letter to a student: Please think less of the pain. The largest thought behind your healing ideas is that you have pain. You have only perfection of bone, muscles, nerves and bloodstream. If you continue to praise pain, you’ll have more pain. “I am pure spirit now.” Continue with your therapy, not for pain but for health. Your mind is creating the pain. You are too close to God for this. You are living right. Come on up!
Have nothing to do with pain. Let it sing while you stand and declare that earth cannot touch spirit. It is already perfect and so shall manifest now. Your pain idea is part of the old illness idea. When you have forgotten how to use the word pain, light shall suffuse your body wholly and your conscious mind will be absolutely clear. However, while you continue carrying out pain ideas, some darkness remains under the surface. Cut out all the pain thoughts, even if you had them so badly the doctor had to give you medication. Declare freedom and heavenly perfection. This healing must come from and through your mental life. We are holding all the lines Light and responsibility we have established. Every promise made to the Elect upon earth is about to be fulfilled! Those using the Faith of God and the Love of God only, without selfish interpretations, have sent forth enough invisible Light and Power of God to create into outer visibility that which must appear. Those who have elected to stand and demonstrate their puny power of self-will over physical needs are having difficulties. They have not released enough Light to make the demonstration 100 percent! And their prayers give only 20 percent of a demonstration. Then they must have recourse to doctors and physicians. To the one who asks his brothers to add their prayers to his, to him there can be a miraculous healing. A thousand or a hundred thousand together is better to pray for one than for any to pray alone to demonstrate. It is selfish to be unwilling to share with another. It is putting one’s self on a material level with the publicans, who have no reward for their demonstrations. They want all the outer credits, but have no healing.
The Communists who try to frighten the common people only force them closer to God and greater faith, as they expose themselves. We establish lines of Light to all places of subversive manifestation and wrong uses, and focus it where it is needed. It returns redoubled as all “added things” and miracles. Do not say, “I accomplished this,” but “The Father has used me.” This is a greater expression because it instantly returns the equivalent of the Light you’ve sent forth, all your past prayer power, in one great Light. Declare it “good,” and it comes rolling back as compound interest accrued to you. Law is inevitable in its action, and is under the control of one who says, “Not I, but the Father, His Light goes forth to do the work. In that Light is His greatness performed through me. Your Light, which I call through me is thoroughly inevitable and irresistible in its power to increase the good.” And so it is!
To be an ensample of the Living God, hold fast what you have gained. Let nothing negative cling to or defeat you. Declare the Light. You can create in the invisible anything you can imagine to protect yourself, your house, your loved ones and the world. And when you declare that the Living God is impregnating the houses of evil, you are declaring good upon earth, and good shall prevail. The Elect can be healed, but only if they hold to their high state from the time of the healing. The process of ascension for the Elect is to hold the high point; if they lose it, it returns. To become a Creator, you must hold healing. Arthritic hands: Pain is the idea behind the surface of suffering. With the ability to get what you need, you have no reason to go on with crippled hands. Hands are made to use. No doctor can make a liar out of God by saying you cannot be healed! Speak the word to be healed. Why seek outside help? Put the arthritic hands on the altar. Fear to do so comes from your negative use of power. Let go and let God! Declare this is the healing. When it is a flaming desire, it is God! Let the Spirit move through your hands. Consecrate them and give them to the Father. You will have it when you really believe in God. The subconscious has to be cleansed or you step off the Golden Pathway. Give with love and great credits are advanced.
Some point of difficulty always hangs on until the last bit of the subconscious is cleaned. It is a doubt of God’s Light, and is anchored in a guilt complex. Put it on the altar instead of covering it up with wax. In the old days, we put on hair shirts to initiate the body and humble the soul, to punish self for our sins. Wax is the modern symbol for the hair shirt. Declare that your hands are exercising. If the Light of God goes through, why do you need wax? The hand is pure spirit substance. When your faith in the living God is great enough, you will not have to coat your hands with wax. Someday you will begin to see the difference between thinking you want and really wanting; you’ll get to the point that you know. This is a perfect ensample of the subtleness of the subconsciousness, a perfect sample of believing and accepting and it is done.
What are you planning to have? If it’s wax, you are planning for arthritis. Get to the point of giving it to God, to know and accept the fact that God can heal it. Who is going? I AM or little me? Don’t kid yourself. Don’t give the wax the power. In using wax, acknowledge that it is a crutch. Ask the Light to go through your hands to keep the wax warm. To substance has been given the power to become, but mind must condition it. To the egoic soul has been given the power of conscious direction and control over substance. To condition substance, the rational soul must speak the Word. Substance cannot condition the Word. The Word conditions substance. You have to grow up to being able to go directly to God for healing, without putting the Light into some mechanical thing to heal you. When you go on in spite of the pain, the Light is doing the healing.
The artritis in your hands is chronic, and as with all chronic conditions it is of long standing. You brought this with you into this life, but God has opened the way for clear seeing so you may see to its healing. And it must be done one step at a time, for this is the way the finite mind works. It has the ability to work all at once. It is a matter of choice between which of you is in charge, little me or big I AM. Your Guards have led you slowly into the Light, conditioning you to higher matters every step of the way. However, you are now in the Light. There is no limit to what your spoken Word can and will bring to pass. The limitless Light uses you and it must use you to its own advantage. Using all your capacities as you travel upward shall give you amazing and speedy results. Gird your loins for the next upward climb.
God cannot force His glory upon you. He may only wait until you choose it, and then it will be given to you in great measure and you shall be a living ensample of the healing power, as God first, from the inside out, not from the outside in.–Edna Lister, December 17, 1952
Anything you lift to be healed is a sight draft on Light. The woman with an issue of blood felt Jesus’ Light, knew it would heal her, and touched his robe. He felt the shock as the Light moved through and said, “I feel the virtue has left me.” Jesus destroyed the fig tree because it was barren, not because it was fertile. He said “Get thee behind me, Satan,” not to be rid of darkness, but because he knew you can let it push you into the Light. Only Light lifts, heals and closes out darkness. The first conscious memory is just a beginning step in a self-analysis. If you’re really honest, you’ll dig out the cause. It takes but one to stand against what comes from the mouths of men. They can fuss, stew and stir, yet nothing happens. What if Jesus had stood before Lazarus and said, “You stink.” No matter what it is, declare it good right now. It is perfect! The Law is coming through them as absolute perfection. Every individual has an aura according to his degree and kind. If the White Light of the Christ surrounds you and you declare for another, Light works through his aura and his Guards cone him. The Masters do the healing, but you put him in a pillar of fire, which can penetrate any cover. You can walk in a sphere of Light and surround yourself in a pillar of fire. Put others into a pillar of fire first for purging, then into a sphere of Light for healing.
If you lose your contact and turn this great intake outward, or when someone of highest responsibility fails to keep his vows, he cools off. The first sign is letting outer situations and personalities take over your life. When someone cannot hold to the pure white Light of the Christ, he “stinks.” He may think he prays, but drops back to adeptship.–Edna Lister, May 28, 1953
If you love God enough, you don’t have to tell Him about your eyes, finances or health. “Father, I love you and I use your Holy Vision. Father, your strength and health uses me now.” In prayer there is no negative thought or no statement of your need. You cannot love God and at the same time be conscious of your needs. You must love God enough and at the boiling point. You have to unload your emotional blocks. Initiation consists in becoming selfless in service where it is needed, under guidance from the great Councils through the Great Guard. When an embodied soul depends upon a healer or a doctor, but not on God, then the Father must heal the healer or doctor to a high point to provide the release of Light-as-power to equal what this soul could get directly, which takes more time. When the individual depends on a doctor, the doctor must be lifted high enough for the high Light to use him. This is true, whether the individual depends upon a human agency, such as a doctor, a healer, massage, colonic treatments, an x-ray machine or drugs. Always declare that the drugs and other treatments are vitalized. The miracle that could have come directly through is diluted to go through all of these other agents. This is true only for the Elect, who can go directly to the Source. The Light that is already going through the healers, including doctors, is great enough to heal the lesser children of earth.–Edna Lister, October 13, 1953
When you need healing, review everything of the past. Stop using weakness as an excuse to hide from the facts. If you get tired, go to bed and rest up in the Light! When you say, “I feel weak,” your words have no vitality or life. Stand up and say, “I’m healed! I’m strong!” Stop being half and half! Work for perfection! Don’t be left at the starting post. Think of the women who must scrub floor because they have no greater skills. If you have an income, you’re well cared for. Grow up! Stop comparing yourself with how you were yesterday, which gives the subconscious a reason to malinger and dawdle. Compare yourself with what you must still become. Many who have cancer have opened their sun centers, backslid and lost place. Knowing they had lost something, they tried to force it without sacrifice of self, then force moves out as rebellion, hurt, grief and returns to the body to feed cancer. All cancer patients have had some such history.
When you make a stand in truth, you become responsible for lifting all your ancestors. You can lift hereditary traits. Ask that the idea of hereditary disease be eradicated. When you speak a name, it sends forth the conscious spoken vibration of the individual. So, in healing you speak the name. Treatment: We, too, may appropriate substance from the River of Life, using imagination, thinking and desire as mind, power and substance to create an image of the Master; see him. Put this created image before the needy or ill person. Jesus can speak the Word to them. This is how you create a broadcasting station. The Master broadcasts to all who call on him. He sends a bit of himself into the created image and lifts its hands to heal. No personal will is involved in this, but the one in need must choose to call on the Master. When he does, a shaft of Light lifts his desire to mate with his will. Treatment for paralysis and all hardening [sclerotic] illnesses result from the desire body frozen within the physical. When you are ready to treat such a case, they send four Guards to aid that person. You stand and speak the Word, which is a sight draft on Light from those Guards’ Council, or realm of origin. Declare, “Let the Light of the Living Christ start a whirling sun center of light!” Lift your hands with a scooping motion, then rotate them clockwise. The Guards lift the desire body and hold it above the physical. Light from above pours down, heals the desire body first, then the physical.
Tonight they encase us in a cloud of Light that is protection from the world while they are building up the Light. They place lights over your chair to search your heart center and see how strong it is, how much Light they can release through you. They cone or cap each one’s weak points. A weak heart or thyroid can prevent you from seeing. We must balance the vibration of heart and thyroid. A nervous breakdown is an escape complex, a deliberate turning from the Light. Every cell is a light bulb. You turn off the master switch of God’s powerhouse and shut off the power current from the nerve cells. Having “nerves” is an advanced form of egotism that forms a block in the medulla oblongata and results in pain. Mental illness causes disharmony in the physical cells. Healing results when Light moves in through the soothing circular movement of the hands.
The subconscious mind has twelve emotional psychological and mental phases, and you know fear, illness, etc., until they are cleansed. The subconscious emotional mind is in the solar plexus. The photographic subconscious memory cells are in the head. A healed, lifted subconscious is a good servant. You lift the good subconscious memories first and they become part of soul. Good thoughts are ascended and added to soul experience. Write a list of the times you’ve been hurt or grieved, analyze your reactions, then burn it to clean out the subconscious lines. The subconscious will work out your fears until you do. Most of our difficulties stem from pride, opinions, prejudices. Opinions are born of mental willfulness. Prejudices are born of emotional rebellion. We get just what we have left after our deductions from complete love, such as resentments and criticisms.–Edna Lister, June 18, 1956
The subconscious mind handles automatic body functioning and mental and emotional imagination. Buried emotional blocks can color how your body functions. You can sit in church and still hate someone. This is emotional dry ice, like false pride and all negatives, which coat the life sparks. If you do not clean out this dry ice, you will create a blowout.
Sagittarians are always the seers of the unseen. They are always found out. They can be gamblers, both the high and low poles of Sagittarius. We can contact that invisible life right now. You deal with the invisible when you deal with mind. Ideas come from above or from dry ice on the low pole of crystallization that manifests as paralysis, arthritis, etc., up through the stages of spirit that make fluid. You have water. Heat water and you have vapor, invisible in the kettle. In your gradual raising and expanding of substance you go from freezing solids to invisibility. You cannot see invisible steam, but it can burn you; you can feel it. It is the same with seeing beyond seeing that which is invisible to the physical eye.
Crystallizing diseases come when you have heavy emotional debts to pay that can rid you of self and fear, such as past life material brought up to date from the soul records. Jesus’ parable about the rocky ground. Barren envision it. Stony ground emotional substance condensed into rocks from vapor. Healing is raising the vibration of the mental imagination. Raise your arms, breathing in atomic substance, but you must look up to do it and expand. The seven breaths move down the spine into the subconscious emotional life. Declare the Light of God is moving through the top of your head into the pineal and pituitary, medulla oblongata, thyroid, parathyroids and maxillary, all nine glands that take care of the digestive tract.–Edna Lister, July 17, 1956

When you desire to escape, you don’t do this. If you want to be a martyr, you want to enjoy dilly-dallying. When you’re hot with the zeal of God’s Love you can say, “I AM God’s greatest miracle. START HERE:Philosophy, which is the love of wisdom, gave birth to the field of metaphysics in its attempt to discover the Source, the origins of things. Philosophy and metaphysics both deal with law and principles, but metaphysics explores the realm of the invisible, the unseen in its study of The One, which is the Good.
Mysticism deals with the personality of God, and it encompasses the field of psychology on earth, dealing with the issues of God as mankind. We must learn the psychological values from the laws of action and reaction. Metaphysics deals with the laws of God as adapted to and as mankind. Science is supposed to bridge the abyss between the seen and the unseen. We base all our statements of healing on scientific facts metaphysical laws and statements of truth.
A typical scientific statement of truth is that ice, slush, water, steam and vapor are one in the same substance in varying degrees of physical expression. The body of man and of all physical things is made of invisible substance, all of which came from the magnetic currents of earth, and though the etheric currents of outer space.
If you sink to your knees in the face of difficulties, symbolically surrendering to the world, arthritis will set in as crystallization, metaphysically representing the so-called ice state. Heat melts ice. Light absorbs darkness until it is no more. This includes darkness of the mind. You need spiritual illumination to overcome mental darkness.
When you move up in consciousness, seeking first the kingdom of God, you become a boiler full of condensed steam, which love pipes to fill the other person’s need.–Edna Lister, April 4, 1957

When another throws you lines of hatred, they surround him, too. As you lift and declare them all love, the lines drop from him to form a footstool, which is the first step in healing. Declare that his lines now form a footstool. Watch suggestions that are idle words. When you blame another, he goes free and you, the criticizer, pay the debt. Stop blaming, and ask the Father to cover his debts and heal him.
You can have anything you ask of God, if you ask and steadfastly desire it so. You can ask for another’s healing, but you may not make it your business to be sure another learns his lesson—this would make you liable for paying his debts, which is not good for him or you. Everyone on earth who prays is lifting darkness, but doing it consciously with treatments is our work. Treat to lift the associated force first. Lift all the dirt coming to the surface, then lift again for Light to dissolve the force. Reach out with arms of Light, draw it in and up into your shaft of fire to dissolve it. If someone has said something offensive and you are shocked, be still, lift it up. Avoid the touchy person! Raise your mental hands, go up, put the offender on a cloud, but don’t wish he’d stayed home! Say, “Father, send Your Light to cleanse Name now,” and the very Light the Father sends will cause the other to spew his venom. Wait and say, “Father, let all this force be put in your shaft of fire and dissolved now!”
This ritual of surrounding others should be like putting on shoes and socks. Your reaction should be instantaneous. When the phone or door bell rings, surround the caller with a sphere of Light. If a neighbor bedevils you, put a sun center of Light over his home to encase him and his family, and renew it daily. Your house isn’t free until you place a sun center over every home on the block. When you feel low, check to be sure you’re not taking on your neighbor’s darkness. Encircle and surround, place a little sun center in every room and a great one over the whole house. Do this in your place of business also, especially over the telephone.
We aim our treatments at lifting all darkness. When you say, “Let them be healed,” their entities will fasten on every weak spot, including yours. Entities are of two varieties, mindless clouds of your own substance, or disincarnate floating soul fragments. They sap the life force from the body upon which they fasten, at the shoulders, knees, etc. The dweller on the threshold is a mindless cloud of past soul debt, substance that one scatters in fear, anger, resentment, etc. That scattered substance collects and returns all substance of a similar nature to you. This goes on around you constantly. Every thought takes on a shapeless form. Lift all force. Let Light go forth to absorb the darkness into a cloud of glory. Love in a supreme condensed state must be ready to fill the molds of earth. Otherwise, we invoke the substance and keep praising to condense it to have it ready to move in. When you think it, you are already directing it to heal, you release the spiritual substance you already have condensed to pour as Light on the need. When you need a miraculous healing, you can say “Let” and the Light moves as substance and power from the Holy Sphere and the healing takes place.–Edna Lister, December 16, 1957
Be like leaves and reach up and out when you face a test such as illness, and never go down. Give up all grief and earthly taints. Never judge others. At night, go out and lie on a cloud. Tell the Father that you want Him to release the Light through you to “melt and dissolve all the force I have put forth and send Light along every line I have touched and everyone I’ve contacted. Please dissolve all my idle words! Let Thy Light use me.” Illness is the return of your criticsm, misused and idle words. You take them back into the body as illness instead of saying, “Here it is, Father,” and lifting it. All ideas come from above.
Move up in consciousness, and do this as an Oracle. Be an Oracle! By the words of their mouth shall ye know them! By their works shall ye know them! Your “works” and your “words” include your reactions! You rebuild your body with the soul substance you redeem this way! Build walls of fire about your body to protect you from all your own self-created entities on the outer. Take the responsibility to release the Light to be used, and to have all idle words cast into the fire. You don’t have to pay them through your body. Put them in the fires to be burned! Fear before the world holds you back from seeing and hearing spiritually. Get rid of the fears.
Only the descended Elect are used by the Light to speak the Word and to have it stand! Those who do the most good in the world are of the descended Elect. The rest just “talk about it” and follow a stronger leader. Our work is to build the descended Elect into being their potential. The minister with the biggest congregation in the city says, “I can’t leave these 2,000 here!” He doesn’t go on because of this! There is no free will, only free choice. The Gates of Light open on credits for him, but a time comes when you must choose God’s way. You give all to Him, and then you have ALL! Spiritual adultery is caused by escapism and fear.
Do what you can on the outside but the real healing is the invisible Light coming through inside. Science has raised the vibration of a cell to higher spiritual substance, to Light with the atom bomb. To heal you must siphon off the “heaviness” of life by lifting ice to the steam and vapor state. Declare everything good right where it is, remembering that where it will be is God’s business! “She’s good where she is! Darling, I love you right where you are.” Love him where he is. If he could do better, he would! “You are good where you are, but come on! You can do better!” Ask God, “What can I do to help Name, to get him to step to a higher grade?” Name-calling is “an abomination unto the Lord,” so don’t expect a gallon to fit in a cup! Pray for the other fellow to step into a higher grade. Build up his morale! Just ask God what to do for him.
Fears are born of subconscious loneliness and regrets about life. Those with whom you live, act out what you have in your subconscious mind. Discover your potential, then begin serving there. Recreate your body by Light and living rightly. Your potential of health is a perfect body. Act as if you already have it. Your body registers sensations, so step higher. A well-balanced life provides four hours a day of diversion, and you have to spend it or work to pay the debt for not using it! You can serve God on the inner while you play on the outer. Face any subconscious fears by loving God enough. When you feel guilty, go up, kneel before Him and say, “Here I am Father. Cleanse all this guilt and regret, and make me Your strong one to release the Light for Your great work!”
I’ve had 15 years of Dr. Boyd’s academic work, and 35 years experience as a psychiatrist. Censor every word before it passes your lips, pin it on the wall, and analyze it. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ speaks as us, through us, and we declare everyone and everything is good in its own degree and after its kind. You can do this with “Darling, you’re wonderful! I love you!” You have the right under Divine Justice to use a just appraisal to discover what you need to know, and set your mind like a clock for the Father to give you the “grade” of work for the soul who needs it. We all live in a welter of vibrations, but you can merely touch a person’s sleeve and know him. You can “read” any vibration you choose to. Go up immediately to the altar and say, “Here am I, Father. Make me Your perfect instrument.” Live at the height of your five-pointed Oversoul star and God’s Light does the work.
Get rid of your frustration, regret and the guilt complex, which is nothing more than being afraid of showing love for God! Sacrifice of self means to give up opinions and prejudices, guilt and fear. “Blind though I may be, please use me!” We are here as vehicles to be used! We need not know “how,” “why,” or “which”! You’ve been “eating your words” all along, but in reality you may permit no “self” in your analysis of others. You can’t afford to enjoy their discomfort. Working out your salvation is using the “savvy” and intelligence God gave you as wisdom in your hour of need.
A woman from San Francisco called me in Cleveland, and had a miracle that afternoon as the result. Stop signing your checks on God’s Bank with “if” and “but,” or they’ll return to butt you down! When facing a life-threatening need, act accordingly! Declare, “This tumor is melted, dissolved and absorbed.” Then the Light of the living God and the devouring ray of the Mother moves through and consumes it. If I want God’s Light to use me, I must be perfect. Give up self’s opinions and prejudices, and live life as though you were living under God’s thumb. Pay your debts as you go! Pray for others. Do not pass judgment, but declare, “Darling you are wonderful! You’ve learned your lesson and you are going on from here. Go on!”
“I’m trying” is just a cover-up for laziness. It’s telling the subconscious mind “Just don’t pay attention. Don’t listen to her.” If you don’t train your subconscious constantly, how can it tell you and catch you up on a negative? When someone else errs, just get to your Altar fast and say, “Father, here it is! Send forth Light-as-power to melt, dissolve and free it.” Lift as you go. Move up and don’t pay your soul debts through the body! Be above all bodily needs. Give up and live up! Do not hand yourself sophistries.
Words of gossip affect the liver, the organ of sincerity. Pay others’ debts. “Father, let me reach out and draw in all soul debts of Name, and let it be purified and dissolved.” Do not make denials, just positive statements. Agree with your adversaries and live right. God loves you and says, “Yes, I hold you in My arms but I cannot set aside law for you!” Be rigid in disciplining yourself! To dissolve a tumor, declare, “The devouring ray of the Mother melts, dissolves and completely absorbs it” (the tumor). After a healing, say, “I accept this healing now, and thank You, Father.”
The old way in metaphysical healing was to believe that law was made for you to use. Instead, God made you for His use as the agent of His will and law. Your “I-me-my-mine” is imperfect. There is no excuse for moving down into the body. Descending in consciousness permits the impulsive appetitive soul to control the body. Raise your own vibration before entering into an already set vibration. This calls for attention. Do not tear down another’s construction. Whether you enter a business, home, office, etc., raise your own vibration, your consciousness to its level. The level might be below yours, but you can raise your consciousness to understanding that. This is agreeing with man and adjusting to God. Do not be critical of this but recognize it for what it is. Understand it. Do not tear down another’s construction. He can learn from your example unless you leave him nothing but criticism. This is still his construction, not yours.
The mental body lotus centers overlie the desire body’s seven vital centers. They spread out and become the 44 lotus centers around the brain cells, the head, neck and shoulders. When you are upset, they fold up and crumple. When you are joyful in consciousness, they appear smooth-petaled as a great lotus. Use the whirling treatment over the head to straighten them. Hand motions for healing go from left to right to lift, and release a tremendous amount of Light. Shaking the hands to the left when you are through releases you from that vibration. Cancer results from habitual irritation, criticism, hatred and condemnation, traits arried from the distant past into the present. life. The Sun sign under which you were born reveals your weak spot. If you are to have cancer, the Sun sign, or aspects to the sun, will show where it will appear inthe body. Do not let your imagination run wild on this. Arrogance and past pride of intellect cause any swelling. Such traits enter the present as hold-over memories coded onto the blood platelets as they cycle through the medulla oblongata. The source of tumors is egotism, pride and arrogance, especially if one has hidden such soul taints from himself. The emotion of pride causes the swelling and growth.
For example, faith functions as a soul faculty in the head. So do logic, reason, discernment, discrimination, discretion, other mental faculties, and the baser propensities of emotion and instinct. Propensities rise from the back brain, near the base of the skull. Higher mental faculties originate in the frontal lobes near the forehead and the crown of the head. If an embodied soul has been proud of his faith, logic, ability to reason. or entertained other forms of intellectual arrogance in the past, the tumor appears in the organ or body system associated with the nature of his pride. If you are proud that you know the truth, the swelling is in the top of the head. How do you heal this? How do you cleanse this before it begins? Cleanse your records as you climb. Surrender to the Father and give Him the credit for all you have cleansed. Obedience to law, surrender of self, and soul conquering cleanse these taints, no matter whether the individual is aware of them.–Edna Lister, June 16, 1959

Name, your strength is the strength of God. Your love is the love of God. The life spirit of joy and rejoicing possesses you now. The absorbing power of the Almighty is cleansing Name’s (organ) and is healing him/her. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”–Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”–John 1:1. Many different schools of thought have given a “word,” which they have claimed is “the Word.” Yet one word cannot express all principle. “In the beginning” all of God was the Word; therefore, all principles were contained in the Word as God. When we really accept and fully understand these statements of truth, we will need no healing because they are statements of complete perfection that only ignorance and disobedience to principle can set aside. Only ignorance and disobedience need healing.
So the Word was a vast emanation or a composite vibration of all principles and laws, the same laws we have been rediscovering for ourselves as metaphysicians. The Word as God is the Source principle upon which we draw for all healing power. You cannot set aside love, wisdom, faith or joy and say, “This is the Word.” Each is a principle, and part of the universal principle. All principle is the immutable, undeviating, changeless foundation upon which healing power is based, as well as the foundation upon which all universes are established.
Metaphysics and science move along, side by side under changeless, workable laws. Lincoln Barnett, in The Universe and Dr. Einstein, explains exactly and scientifically what happens when you have had healing. Scientists at first thought that “mass” was one kind of substance and “energy” was another. Under Einstein’s laws of relativity, they have found that mass, energy and light are the same substance in different rates of vibration. Mass is slow, energy is faster, and the Light above that is a high rate of vibration.
Metaphysicians have always known that God is everywhere evenly present and available in all His parts, attributes and qualities. We know that all disease is a stagnation of life in the body cells. Healing under the principle of faith raises the actual cellular vibrations, mass is changed into energy, and you have a miracle. Einstein’s mass-energy theory has explained the resurrection of the body of Jesus. On the Mount of Transfiguration, he showed Peter, James and John that he could raise his physical mass body through energy into Light. Every healing is a resurrection from mass, the heavy body substance, into energy. Perfect unconquerable faith can do this for you now as the “greater works.” Do you believe this? No one is apt to move from mass through energy and float off as Light for a while yet. You don’t need to worry that you’ll get “too good” too soon!
The world of science challenges metaphysicians today. Science is doing the “greater works,” more so than metaphysics. What will we do to equal that? “In the beginning was the Word” of all Power. Today it is still the Word of all Power. Science calls this atomic power, and metaphysicians name it the Christed Energy of Light, and it is pure, unchangeable principle that cannot fail. Are you afraid of it? Are you like the timid little boy who, when asked what he wanted to be, said, “I want to be a scarecrow so I won’t be afraid”? If you hide behind the scarecrow idea, you find that when you should be standing firmly upon principle, you are stuffed with straw instead of fortitude. You need not be afraid of doing the “greater works” by speaking the Word of the Power of the “beginning.”
The principle of faith, of the principle of all truth is not an emotional “bubble bath,” where you get excited occasionally when you hear a sermon, a lecture or read a book. Nor is it a mental amendment to your past life, where you take it out, think about it or make a trite statement about it once or twice a day. Truth is no substitute for anything, but a principle to live by as an entirely new way of life. It is a reconditioning, a reconversion into a new Christed Age image and likeness of God as in the beginning.
Truth is a surrender of self-centered desires and self-centered will, both moving into the House of the Lord to become the I AM Christed consciousness. Desire then becomes intuition, moving beside the still waters of Spirit, while will becomes pure illumination of wisdom, and turns itself into the green pastures of growth and cosmic expansion. Principle already has your passport waiting for you in the House of the Lord. I AM accepts it, and the door opens to all health, success and glory. Do you believe that this is your “new beginning?”
The now is an escalator moving you up into the House of the Lord where principle can recreate what it created in the beginning, where you stand in the ultimate glory, with a youthful, singing heart. In 1918, a funny little woman with a two-year-old boy started homesteading in Idaho. She began studying a healing by principle correspondence course, but the only miracle she ever witnessed was that her own eyes were healed. That little woman was me. I just knew that God did the work, “if” one loved God. Since that time, study, study, study, practice, practice, practice. I’ve learned one thing, practice.
From Rome to modern China, governments have gone from feudalism to federations, and have always collapsed when the balance of power shifts through revolution. What is revolution? To revolve around a new idea, to stir up the old crystallization, to break down the old. St. Paul started a real revolution with “Stir up the gift that is in you.” We must keep it stirred up or turn into a pillar of salt, a hardening of ideas as well as arteries.
We have moved into a new Christed order. We are finishing what Paul started under Jesus’ direction. We face the finale of the greatest upward spiritual movement of all civilizations. We are in the middle of a boiling melting pot called revolution. We are our brothers’ keepers. The love, wisdom, and faith of God declare it so. “I AM” has now reached beyond revolving and stirring up. “I AM” now harmonizes everything into a perfect whole, working together, holding-as-one.
We have the secret weapon of all ages, a weapon that is changing the balance of power for all time to come. We have the ability to declare a thing healed and good, and it is so. We can resurrect all good from the past and ascend now. I discovered that I’ve been working for a Federation of Nations for more than twenty years. The League of Nations was emotional, the United Nations is mental, but the Federation is a spiritual brotherhood.
What has this to do with miracles? How can we have miracles? “I am” is the most common name in the world, and is among the most powerful words God ever gave to humanity. Nothing can change us. We are “I AM” forever and ever. “I AM believes to see and causes all powers of the universe to move into action now. I AM love. I AM love for you now. I AM declares you healed. I AM declares you a miracle.” I AM declares this a miracle year for us. I AM builds our tomorrow for us. Tomorrow is ours in beauty because I AM builds it now, today. Treatment for alcoholism: Let this Light flow through Name. Let the Light and Love encircle the inflamed liver, melting and dissolving this agitation. Let it absorb the darkness and let it be healed. Coat the arteries inside and out, strengthening them with Light. Put gloves of Light on Name, and build a vision of the Master before him, blessing him into healing.
Treatment for an abusive person: Let Name’s arms be divinely restrained so that he cannot raise them to do harm. Put him on a platform of Light so that he does not slip. Declare that as he reaches and holds a new high point the Light can lift him from one grade to another! The one who says that another has “slipped to the bottom” pushed him down! Be positive. See him as being held in the arms of the Almighty. Now they can go on from there!
Whenever you see evil, instantly reach up, arms up and send Light forth; declare it good, no matter how it looks. do so and something marvelous happens. Instantly they send a bomb of Light that explodes over it in that moment. If you immediately look up and do not dwell on the evil, miracles happen! You cannot burn or cut Spirit. At the very first moment, look up and say, “Let!” This is seeking first the kingdom.
“I AM loves you” statements must have an object out here to finish them! You can use these I AM statements without any resultant force. It becomes kinetic energy at the first I AM. When dozing, declare, “Move in and possess me. Waken these brain cells and keep them awake!” “I AM loves you! I AM loves you to go to sleep. The harmony of Spirit is filling you.” Use this three times with the circular motion from head to feet and three times from feet to solar plexus, which is filled with magnetic currents of earth and the etheric currents of God. Then the circular motion from head to solar plexus, and keep the energy moving within the body.
Give yourself this treatment: “Let this sun center be filled and brilliant with Thy Light. I AM praising this vehicle that God has given me. I AM blessing this vehicle in which God dwells now as me. I AM blessing this vehicle for His perfect use. I AM loves you. God loves you. The world loves you. The Light moves through and inflates the aura and fills you. I AM loves this world. I AM is being filled with Love. I AM the Love of God going forth. I AM the Love of God.”
Force moves out, hits some barrier, bounces back and strikes earth as accidents, cyclones, etc. Some day we will build stations to receive this force and use it in industry and the sciences. Your own force goes out, hits a black cloud of floating darkness and returns to strike you. The treatment for lifting force: “This is my own misused power, which I sent forth with idle words or forceful actions. Let this force be lifted now and be united with its corresponding substance, mind and power.”
You want to be strong with instant strength. If you feel weary and low, you’ve dropped from your head down to the chest, into the field of force. Move back up into the field of Light that gives you energy. From here you can use I AM statements without force because the field of glory transforms the field of force into kinetic energy you may use. “I AM moves up into this field of Light and energy, into love, light and miracles.” This declaration moves I AM up from the field of force into the field of love, it draws force up and draws the potential power down to become the kinetic energy of life. You become inexhaustible in your ability to express the potential power of God, but force depletes and exhausts you. For rebellious ones (mental, distraught, etc.), do the treatments easily and from a distance.
Caution: you cannot use the treatment for force when close to one who is disturbed. You must surround yourself with a wall of fire to be protected from evil. For treating another, lift, pray and ask the Father to release them of their soul debts, leaving just enough for them to learn their lesson. When someone is out of his body with illness or from an accident, use the rotary treatment from head to toes three times, pausing at the solar plexus with each pass up or down.
When you live in the love of God daily, it provides the protection of your aura, the Light in which you dwell. Whatever comes, you can meet life head-on. For darkness, say, “This is good. I love you, because you belong to the Father, so come to me to be lifted. I love you for the Father.”

We found the following description of Edna Lister among the personal papers of Lotus Landis (1905-2002); we include it because the writer (unknown to us) describes Edna Lister in what was apparently their first and only meeting:
I asked her about my dreams. She said, “You have been given the gift of helping others, on other levels.” I said, “But I don’t think I do help them. I seem to be just sort of an observer. They are not necessarily doing wrong, but just confused. I would say that this is just me, or that I should be with such people, much as I hate them. Maybe I am, or was, one of their type.”
“Who are you to judge? You are placing yourself in God’s place. Know that you are helping them. As to its tiring you, when you go to sleep, say that you will do what God’s gift has for you, but that you are surrounded by the light of Christ and thus all will be done through you. But no “I” in it—that’s what fatigues you.“
She seemed to see into me instantly. My feeling that I don’t deserve God’s goodness she said was actually egotism, lack of humility—that I was holding off. (To me this is a little strong. It is true we are all God’s children but it is impossible not to feel inadequate. As Marge says if Grace went by deserving none of us would qualify—but still, to me, there are gradations and I know I am not as good as I should or could be.)
She said, “Don’t say, ‘I will,’ or ‘I won’t’. That just attracts debt (that’s what Job did—the attitude of ‘let it happen, I can take it.’ This suddenly brings on a huge hunk of debt that otherwise might have been spaced over six months rather than a week or a day. It is just asking for trouble.) This is true of me—but it’s so hard to ‘let go and let God,’ when I feel responsible for my actions and feel so inferior.
Say, “I shall, I can. So it shall be.”
About my illness over the patients at Mt. A. Hospital she said, “There again is the ‘I.’ See them with God’s healing Light going through them, but you are not doing anything for them. It’s through your love.” She said that she could go down in the slums and work like a Trojan and not accomplish anything. But that with a prayer could help any number. It seemed that it need not be a form of contemplation, nor praying at length about a particular person or child. But a quick kind of calling them to the attention of Christ.”
She spoke of her “lines” (as one would say ropes) to Christ, and that she could feel people pulling on the lines between her and them when they needed prayer. Then when she had given them this instant prayer treatment she “released their lines to Christ.” (Would like to know more about this).
We were caught by many traffic lights and sat full in the sun. I had beads of perspiration—she none. I asked her, she said “I cloak myself in light.” It is that wonderful ability to be, not oblivious, but over and above?
Hope I see her again.
I mentioned my despair over ‘time’—washing windows, blankets, sewing—never catching up. How to make it seem longer. She said that if I washed four windows it was like washing twelve because all the time I was emotionally thinking of all the other things to be done. I was to love (savor) each window washing moment (that I thought I loved it but really not).
She kept telling me to lift up, to appreciate what my gift in sleep was. (I think she said awake too—that I had a gift for people here too). She kept mentioning the word ‘joy’ all the time – and she surely exemplifies it.
I spoke of serenity. She said she disliked that word—too many people moldered away under it, and never got started. She likes “poise and power.” The ready for action, yet poised on the pinnacle of the strength of God (I am not using her words—can’t remember them all, but I hope the gist is here.) I don’t agree with her on serenity—I think of it as full of the Spirit and so calm and quiet.
She said I would live for years and years, and should decide now whether I wanted to live as I am now, or joyfully as I could and was meant to. (I am happy now—she is wrong. But it is true, I expend too much of myself in not feeling well—and is this my fault or unavoidable? I don’t mind feeling sick if it is not going to spoil my later life and I must keep going until my husband is ready to die—couldn’t bear to leave him alone and I feel it would be my fault if I do for not finding a way to be well now.)
Give myself to God. Let Him do it all. There is nothing we have to do ourselves; He does it all. Imagine yourself on a pink cloud, safe, and happy, all decisions to be made by Him. (I don’t go along with that, but maybe it’s because I don’t understand—sounds like a self-alibi etc. I surely do try too hard, that is true, but where is the line of demarcation?
She says compassion is strong and helpful, but sympathy is emotional and no good. She told me to hand all “the lines” (people one is helping) back to God. So much more was said in the perhaps 45 minutes I was with Edna Lister. Perhaps she is a little hard, but is that what completeness on this plane gives us? I want to know more about her.–April 22, 1960
Healing is a direct result of being able to move from a lesser vibration or a state of consciousness to a higher vibration with a correspondingly higher state of consciousness. Therefore physical healing is more Light, more power and more substance moving into the body to inflate the atoms with Joy. Two things can be done to substance in all universes: the vibration can be lowered or raised, but cannot be changed. You are as great as your fervent love of God. When you declare healing, you set up powers from the Source. There is no time limit on it, for they must be healed. A Great Breath of God takes 1,000 years, but a 24-hour delay seems long!

Slippery elm is an intestinal lubricant. Put 1 tsp in ¾ tumbler of water at night. It helps eliminate toxins that would otherwise accumulate in the eliminative tract.
Barley is a help for all colonic disorders. Steam a cupful for 3 hours. Store in refrigerator and heat before eating. Use perhaps ½ tsp of salt to a cup of barley. Put it on cereal with brown sugar or a small amount of honey. Use with soups. You need about 2 cups of cooked barley per day with other vegetables, or fruit.

Grant each the right to be in his own class. It may be a low grade or displeasing to you but each pleases God according to his efforts. Let God do His work without your condemnation, opinion or prejudice, which put up a veil between you and God’s glory. You erect the blocks of interference. Give the healing miracle to God. You may work so hard on a miracle that you squeeze it to death. Do not work with limitations and negatives or you will be reprimanded. God can heal them, so heed and obey.
When the last consciousness of limitation is lifted up and out by of you by the love of God you shall orbit Him and all good things shall be drawn to you in your orbit of joy. Leave everyone else alone and let God do the work without having to clean up your messes of self. Do thou know what the Love of God is? Follow the laws of Jesus the Christ. Love. Praise. This is good! Let there be Light! This is good now and through all hereafter!
If the Law is perfect, if the will of God is perfect, then why don’t you say, “Let the will of God to do its perfect work”? You have created your life by your words, blessing or curses. Law creates hour by hour after the pattern your words set. It must build, then gestate your plans, and fulfill them. You, yourself, are to blame for your situation. There comes a point when you cannot just speak the word for healing from the outside, to declare the individual is healed. The cells, glands, nerves and organs outside the golden bowl can be healed by the spoken Word of the healer, and the Councils, under whose development the healed one came forth, can name and number the new life sparks to form new cellular tissue.
Yet the golden bowl is different, and can be restored only with the consent of the soul in need of such healing. In order to gain his consent, the healer must lift, pray, hold, and declare for the healing, for the open eyes, open ears, the surrender to God the Father.

You may exorcize the evil vibration of a person, or to rid him of possession, but you may not exorcize a person just to get him out of your hair. Exorcism is part of our healing work. When you have broken a law or feel fear, you may exorcize the dark clouds around yourself. To cut off a person’s vibration of darkness, exalt that person. In 1926, Dr. Boyd and I were in El Paso, Texas. A businessman asked for the laying on of hands. Dr. Boyd usually lay on hands for groups of fifty, followed by a general prayer. In this case he stepped down, laid hands on the man and said, “The Finger of God is laid on thee and toucheth thee.” Edna Miriam then knew that the right way to heal was individually.
Light is the great Principle that works as the lesser principles of number, color, tone, name (spoken word) and form. Your consciousness decides what to take into the Silence. Take only your devotion and love of God into the Light for healing, not the condition! Light comes from many lesser sources, so you must break through all ceilings to the highest Light. You need five tablespoons of ground red cabbage and two tablespoons of butter, topped with paprika a day to provide what the red blood corpuscles need daily. When the thyroid gland is “off,” the whole endocrine system is out of balance. You can’t use the pineal body and pituitary gland for seeing and hearing unless all glands are functioning. The tongue had several salivary glands, and these plus others in the mouth are the seats of digestion. The maxillary, submaxillary and lingual salivary glands alert the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
After an accident, you have two seconds in which to declare the truth for a healing. “Spirit cannot be burned or cut.” Put Light in the hole in the aura, and lift the darkness. Three seconds is a long mental reaction. It takes ten seconds to transform it into a solar plexus blow.

Use the rotary clockwise treatment over the heads of those who speak untruth, slander, etc., and declare the truth of perfection. Put crosses of Light on their lips and declare the Light of the Lord Jesus the Christ cannot speak unjust, untrue words. If someone presents a claim of malpractice, surround him in a sphere of Light, walls of Light, etc. Declare all unjust papers in a lawsuit become invisible. Fill the surroundings, offices, houses, etc., with the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ constantly. Put walls of fire between those involved, and keep them in Shafts of Fire. Keep the culprits in Light so bright they can do nothing! Don’t let them be in the dark to work their darkness. Lift all and it turns into nothing.
To treat the subconscious, before sleep, say: “I AM loves you into oneness with soul. Thank you, Father, that you weave in this glorious subconscious mind of subsoul into this egoic mind and soul for greater service unto thee. I AM now strong and balanced, healed of past emotions, in mind, of memory, spirit and body, wedded in the Christ now expressing on Terra. I AM always in the heart of the flame while doing God’s work, disciplining self and working out my salvation here below.”
To treat your body, say, “I AM loves you (body) with the Love of God for God now and always! I AM loves you, chest, bronchioles, nasal passages, sinuses, midbrain, medulla, hands, etc., with the Love of God for God now and always!”
To treat your eyes, say: “My eyes are God’s good eyes. You are the eyes of love, able, willing, strong and the eyes of God, all-seeing now.” Talk to them in a friendly, loving way. New Treatment for Release of Great Tone and Light for Healing: 1. Take ten minutes at any time of day, but daily is a must, and sing appropriate hymns or songs. Sing softly while your mind and soul are up in prayer, and dedicated.
2. Follow this with ten minutes of hymn-singing by tune only, using your own words of praise and “thanks” that your body is healed and every atom alive with the life of God. Arms must be up-stretched as far as you can reach on this second part. Stand with up-stretched arms for two to four minutes, You may lean against the wall for the remainder of the ten minutes, if necessary. The longer you can spend with arms up-stretched and without support, the quicker the healing! The time must be only ten minutes, not a minute over the line! This great Source Light shall be released as timing from God, to fill the ten minute period. Discipline the self on this. A minute over and the healing is cut off, and you are charged with disobedience!

You can choose to be a martyr carrying a cross, or to rise up and be free. “Here I am, Father! Please move in and possess me. Activate, sublimate and comprehend through me by logic, reason, discernment, discrimination, and discretion that which you want me to do, to think, to say.” To “wait upon the Lord” means to stand still, to know that I AM is God, and wait for the answer. Pray that no one is hurt or harmed. Pray for changes today, for what is right.
For lifting, see the person in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Declare, “The flame of fire makes you clean and you are healed.” Lift instantly with “Here they are Father. Cover them with Light.” Never use “I,” but leave the first-person pronouns out of it. Thought transference done forcibly is a form of possession. They could be loving thoughts, but under the influence of dominance could send the other person down. “Father, let me walk on holy ground all day.” So you change your life with vivid imagination of the goal. “Father, pour out Your Light to help me endure each day.” Transfiguration comes when the body’s cells are permeated with the life of God, with joy, faith, and love. The world does not matter, nor should you let it! Your dreams can come true when you use imagination to build perfect pictures. Every desire will come true.
Think of mastery and be content with your creative tools! Be constant in directing your vision and in expressing your gratitude. It takes faith and joy as instantaneous acceptance under the Law of Growth. The faith of God brings it through and sets aside time and space. The rays of healing Light you release on the spoken Word can and do raise the vibration of a heavy mass. It is easier to transform the matter in a physical condition than to transform the mind of the person in that situation.
You must nourish and sustain the healing vibration and keep your thinking as vital as the Light. “Do thou, oh Lord, work this together for good, and send Thy Light through this, to make it good, though I may not like it.” Declare your creation good. “Let me learn this lesson fast! I love it. Work it together for good for all concerned. I know that nothing can touch me that I do not need or that is not good for me.”

The power to transfigure is a gift of the Father that the Master gave us. If you know this, you know your birthright is to partake of everything the Father has. You either know it or do not. Wherever you are imperfect, you have God “and.” When you say, “God as,” would you dare say, “Let my eyes be healed”? The eyes are not yours if God is your eyes. To whom do they belong? God. This is your inheritance. The Light of God has never changed. It is there always. Where is the Light? It IS. “Me” and “mine” are metaphysical curses that try to take God out of His realm of IS-ness and Be-ness, His wholeness! To ask, “How is your head, back, cold” or whatever it is, attaches the negative to you. This woman was recovering from surgery: The law does not aid and abet the self. Healing requires strong, vitalized declarations and standing on firm principle to come to pass. When the pain seems unbearable, stand and shout that you are healed! Every time you want to escape, you bind yourself more strongly to the pain. Say, “Hazel, move into your body; hold it and stay in it! Your work is to conquer, not give in to it!” You may not ask to have the pain taken from you. Ask instead that you may give it to God as a gift, and to let it be placed on the altar as a sacrifice. This is how the law works.–Edna Lister, February 7, 1963
If you still need healing, you need to surrender more self! The slightest hint of a taint of blame blocks healing, and this includes guilt and self-blame. You may not blame circumstances or a doctor. Who, under God’s laws, is responsible for your body temple? You! Who is responsible for your inner healing? You! Who can get inside your body to give it to you? You must grant the permission! You must desire the healing above all else! You must ask for it!
Don’t think to take credit for lifting you are not doing or have not done. If it comes to you, it’s yours to lift. Sometimes you may be called on to lift another’s force, especially for a family member, or lift the other fellow to the point where you might suffer yourself briefly, but this is not lasting. Don’t think that lifting another’s force can hurt your body; what you experience is but a psychosomatic desire body pain you must lift. To lift another, you must know what is wrong, and therein lies the danger of “knowing too much.” If you are hit physically it’s because you are “seeing” the wrong, holding onto the image, and even at a glance, this can create a debt, although your motive may be pure. Make this declaration: “No man can give me more to do than God can perform as me. I can last one day longer than anything that comes to me.”
A healer may say that you must do something to be healed, the Catholic Church says you must offer penance, but we say you must give up something inside. This is all law, because some block to healing must exist: Wrong seeing, thinking, emotions, wrong seeing of evil instead of Light. I hurts when one of my people reaches a blind spot. Jesus wept because of Mary and Martha. When the Father says, “Speak,” I must! Even if I am blamed for what I must say.
This woman witnessed an accident: When you must lift something violent or forceful right now, reach up with your left hand to the Beloved, as you raise a pitcher in your right hand to hold the force, and give the pitcher to the Beloved as quickly as possible. You must lift such force to redeem it to its natural state as power.
Nothing and no one is healed from the outside. All healing proceeds from Light entering the crown of the head down and from the inside, from the heart center out.–Edna Lister, February 27, 1963
The Blue ray treatment for CA: Right now the consuming blue ray of the Mother is flowing through my/your whole body, consuming every unlikeness to God. The Consuming Blue Ray also draws in the life sparks still involved in whatever substance of the old earth physical body remains. You shall walk earth in perfect health, drawing upon God’s Shekinah Glory for your strength to win through endurance.
The blue ray surrounds the “site” of the CA, so it can be healed. It flows through the bloodstream and the lymph system, cleansing, purifying them and every cell of your body of any taint of darkness, of unlikeness to God. You are free, whole, complete, perfect now! Read Psalm 27 repeatedly,–Edna Lister, March 1, 1963
What is healing? It is a matter of changing the body metabolism, an under-structure of cells, molecules, atoms, electrons, and life sparks. The outer sheath, desire body, mental body, fire body. We experience physical changes and spiritual changes. No healing without spiritual changes. It is a dual process of raising the vibration from the lowest outer vibration, and lowering the vibration from the highest inner.
The first step in healing is to gather all your own soul substance together so that your one mind, heart and body share of the universal substance. Devotion and praise start the sun centers whirling in your electronic fire body, which starts the lifting of all heavier vehicles. As you cast off the oily physical sheath, the desire body becomes visible.
The fire body sun centers draw in life sparks of soul substance upon which our name and number are impressed. In healing, new life sparks must be stamped with the original name and number, and old worn life sparks must be drawn into the Eternal Flame.
Never lift anyone’s soul debts, not even your own. Above all, never name a soul’s debts. Lift only the life sparks that the soul has invested unwisely or outright misused, any investiture that will hold them in soul bondage to the world or to some other soul. The goal here is to speak the Word for the Father to set them free from earthly attachments.
When you are lifting for another, literally reach out with your arms and scoop in with your hands, quickly lifting your hands, palms forward and upward to shoulder height, and give the burden to the Father, saying, “Father of all Light and Glory, I now reach out with my arms of Light to gather together all Name’s misused and unwisely invested life sparks of soul substance, and lift them unto Thee for cleaning and purification on Thy high altars of fire. Let them be returned to Name as pure soul substance for investment only in Thy perfect works!”
Remember, the Father does the work. To “look up” to God, do not raise your arms high or tilt your head back. Instead, look up with the inward mystic eye that sees only perfection. Your soul attitude must be one of giving, and knowing that the Father does all the work. Give it to Him! You may do nothing but give!–Edna Lister, June 11, 1963
People need to depend on God first, then on physicians. It takes a long time to rebuild the atoms of the mental body if you constantly waver in your dependency. For those who do waver, declare, “Name is healed!”–Edna Lister, January 9, 1964
The Light heals faster now than ever before. When you treat an animal, expand your treatment to all species of that animal—birds, cats, dogs and so on—everywhere. Picture all the swimming pools you’ve ever seen and declare they are filled with Light. Surround them with walls of Light for protection. Make prayers for yourself but always make them general for the whole world. Make every prayer and treatment pay dividends for the world, so that what returns to you will increase and add to its kind and degree.
Watch your idle words. Make certain you speak for all as a just appraisal, but also make it a treatment that goes forth to the world with no self in what you say, nothing to make someone do it your way. Declare they do it God’s way. We must create rapport and agreement among all mankind before the masses can begin to live under a just appraisal. When you see a holdout, declare he must come up and be healed. He is not ascending high enough if he disagrees and is negative. Speak aloud to shatter the evil in the words, but never where speaking will anger or offend others. Be sure it is selfless, not for gain for self, but only to do the will of the Father.

The treatment for persons, groups, nations or races in conflict: “The Light is going through all races alike to melt, dissolve and absorb all darkness until only love is left and they mingle with each other as oil mingles with oil, as water mingles with water, as air mingles with air. So let the races mingle in God’s love in the spirit of the Christ. The Hand of God is bringing all souls together in unity and oneness.”
Speak this treatment on the 5th degree of breath or on one long breath as far as possible. Each healer should use it as an exercise by to learn how to speak on the 5th breath easily and comfortably with no strain or consciousness of earthly physical breathing. You must give this treatment from the golden Light, first closing out all noise vibration, all outer sound waves, then thought waves. After closing out the world, use the names, placing each on a cloud continent of Light. Then ascend into the silence and stand in the golden Light. You may substitute any name or any disease, physical, mental or emotional. You may say the treatment once after you have put each whose name is to be used upon his special cloud.
Prayer for healing: “Let a pure shaft of Shekinah Glory from the Source of the Voice, whence it comes for each Elect Son or Daughter of God on earth be divinely combined and blended as number, color, and tone as it enters the Star of the Oversoul instantly to become a spiritualized chemical substance to enter every atom of Name’s body, inflating each atom with this new spiritual combination of physical chemicals instantly to melt, dissolve and absorb every unlikeness to God’s original image and likeness, causing a complete, miraculous physical healing for Name. Every disease has its own frequency or rate of vibration and floats in a film of substance that is amenable only to the spiritual Word spoken on its level. When you want eyes or ears healed, treat all eyes and ears and the 1000-petaled lotus simultaneously. When you ascend on intuition, one petal wiggles and says, “Help me,” and you will suddenly realize you must treat a particular disease.
You can’t treat the effects of illnesses such as multiple sclerosis or muscular dystrophy, but you treat for the portion of the brain that controls muscles and nerve centers. Those patients are usually hopeful and cheerful, attitudes that have resulted from incarnations of happily taking. Any life sparks damaged by illness can’t be indrawn, but hold fast and can cause limitation and darkness. Only pure Light can lift them at night; theinner healers use very opportunity to loosen them. You may see light spheres roll across your field of vision during the night. Invalidism: at some time of prenatal period, the egoic soul had cold feet and wanted to run away from earth and back to heaven. Therefore, throughout life the silver cord has not een tightly harnessed in heart.
One is healed, another isn’t. A mathematical example: 2 + 2 = 4, yet first you must know how to add! When the day is gray, is God wiped out? The measure of your strength is Tone, muscle tone. A measure of stillness of soul in quiet and confidence shall be your strength. You must reach up to a high point in consciousness. The heat of anger welds the soul records to the physical cells. To treat cases caused by strokes and hardened arteries is to loosen the soul records in the neurons from the outer physical where the embodied soul has welded them, and to draw the platelets in to the medulla oblongata. Treatment for strength and health: 1. Lay your hands upon your own bed and see the bed of the one for whom you pray. 2. Raise them high and lower them while invoking Light to penetrate every fiber. 3. Again raise your hands as a ritual for every room, ending with the one for whom you pray, lowering the hands to start the nucleus of a sun center moving. Stand for a second, once a day until you can envision the whirling. 4. While the Light is building through you as you stand in the center of the room, the heart of the new sun center, broadcast a million times, “Name, you are Light. Name, you are Glorious. Name, you sit with the Master at night.” Always use the name before each statement.
You cannot do this too often and you can broadcast to fill the room, going to and coming from places. Do this for the bedroom of those for whom you pray. We may give these two treatments together to one who is eligible, but not in writing until we give them by word of mouth. Then have the written rituals ready to hand to them.
Raise your arms high and mentally reach for the stars before a great question or need. It opens brain cells, glands and lotus centers to be enfolded with Mind, the Source of all answers. Light does not wear out the physical. The greater the Light, the greater the healing and physical ascension. It can only work for the good of all. If we ever need to defend the United States, this is the treatment for nuclear missiles: Declare that the Arms of the Living God reach down and gather up the radiation to be absorbed within the Sun. Treatment: “I stand Name, stripped naked of illness before the Altar of God. Name stands before the Light of justice and truth and is healed.” Say this for evil ones, for disease, for all negativity. Disintegration is a great factor in miracles. If the miracle is granted when the death ray is predominating, it could wear out by just vibrating through the object, the slow dissolving the cohesion between life sparks. Once the timing is disarranged, nothing stops disintegration. Whatever it is, it will fall apart, and this kind of disintegration is never to be repaired. It has happened in weddings where one of the parties was insistent upon marrying at once only to be taken out of their body a few days or a few weeks later. Selfishness always breeds despair and collects past debts to be paid at once. When a soul has no coin of the realm, the body pays. Treatment for arteries: Wall the arteries inside and out with Light. When you treat a part of the body the whole body must be brought into the new, high vibration. Finish by treating the whole body, declaring it healed and perfect.

Treatment for an ill person, one who is to go across, that melts and dissolves crystallized physical cells. Hold him up with raised hands and see divine Light heating him to white heat. For fever the Guards lift him out of body, then place him back in at the point of white heat. Do the treatment several times a day so he may go across healed. Too much Light-as-power, uncontrolled, can upset and harm the endocrine glands. Each organ and gland has a unique number of atoms and molecules, so each reacts differently to a Light-as-power release. Never give a healing treatment unless you have a definite order to do so from the inner, a real “green light.” Acting without orders, you could direct a shot of Light-as-power through the physical and that heals one part, but another part shows damage six months later. This is why some people fear spiritual healing.
Indulging hatred causes trouble in the part of the body shown as a weakness in the birth chart, usually in the Land of Egypt (abdomen) or the Promised Land (thorax). If you consistently criticize or curse someone, your attack will affect his weakness. Say here: “Father draw in Name’s life sparks.” His Guards will lift it and do the work, but you are responsible for setting up the vibration. Each one’s blessing and prayer lifts life sparks for one or of a group.
Jesus illustrated the barren fig tree to show that Light could destroy as well create. You go as high as your faith and desire. When you release Light, it first acts as a pump primer to the soul you lift and returns to you as joy and expansion; beware if it returns as a shot of Light that upsets you. You can create an evil entity within yourself with subconscious memory as base. Hugging greed, grief, self-pity, resentment to yourself fills the chest. Asthma can be a remnant of a self-created entity. If one is good, yet introspective, retrospective and crawls off to live alone, hugging one’s past, it can fill the whole body, but not like possession from outside; it is an abnormal retirement with mind blocked out, almost mindless [autism?]. The discarnate entities can move in and out through the naval chakra center. It must return to Oversoul.
A young woman has a self-made entity that rises up to her chest and throat as she curses. It can’t pulled out because it would disrupt her arteries and heart. It can only be thinned through prayer.
Two sisters shared a mutual hatred of each other. When her older sister died, the life sparks the younger sister had invested in cursing her went, too. All the mutually-invested soul substance went into the fire to be purified, and resulted in physical and mental weakness for the younger sister, the onset of early senility. When you speak for the healing of an agnostic or atheist, a shaft of the pure white Light of the Christ moves into their Oversoul and throughout their entire body as a vibration, and healing begins. It may take six or seven years for the faith you express in prayer to complete the healing. Constant repudiation cuts the power of the Word in the healing vibration, but when you know that God does heal, then healing is possible! Always stand when using this treatment: The magnetic currents move through your feet. Reach to the Source and declare: “Thank You, Father Supreme, that Your Source Light come through and moves into this sacrum plexus. This Source Light moves up through this body and opens all vital and lotus centers wide to whirling, the better to serve Thee. Thank You, Father Supreme, that my Oversoul descends into this body temple and takes over completely, from crown to toes.”
Then, while still in the Light, seeing only Light, declare: “This Light moves through every organ and body system, nervous system, circulatory system, lymph system, digestive system, skeleton, muscular system, eliminative system, reproductive system. Let the Light change every cell, molecule and atom into its perfect original state. Let this healing be complete. Thank You, Father, that this is so.”–Edna Lister, March 31, 1968
Treatment: Let the Light descend the spine to the sacrum plexus, then up through the vitsl centers to circulate the new Christ Light through the body. Then put up the arms three more times in an hour’s time, this time feeling the light moving out each spinal vertebra into the nervous system. Then back up through the atomic, mental, lotus centers.
Do this several times a day. Feel the Light moving through the skin, through the muscles, flesh, lymph system, organs, filling and surrounding them. Then declare water, all liquids as healing. Declare that your breath is healing, absorbing all darkness. You waste time and cut your lines of Light when you think of pain! Stay up! Ignore and praise the pain. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”–Hebrews 11:1. You become the evidence of your faith. You must put that miracle, which you do not yet see, on the altar. What is the evidence of things hoped for? Your dream desires are invisible in the world, yet when you lay them on the altar, they are visible. When you look there, you see that the impossible is possible. This is the evidence of things not seen.
I have the power to declare, “Let this be healed,” and when I do, I see a great shaft of Light, as Daniel did, and I leave it there for God to fulfill. Put the form of the completed miracle on the altar for Light to fill. Each time you go there, see the vision of the form building into visibility. Leave it on a cloud continent of Light and declare it is fulfilled. Do this especially if anyone says it’s impossible. Do not blame the other fellow for sweeping it away. If their “impossible” sweeps the vision off the cloud, replace it and add more and more substance to it.
Declare that the Father is using this to pay more of their debts. “This is possible with God.” Declare this strongly often enough and with great enough fervor, and eventually you have it stronger than ever. It takes one to stand on the principle of nonresistance. Nonresistance is the name of substance after God has sent forth the Emanations. He then inhales and forms a definite enclosed magnetic space. This walled area seems to be filled with clouds that descend slowly to form containers for all substance, in which they coalesce and condense. Science says that energy and mass come together and explode to form the planets. At night, we, by invoking the Light and speaking the Word, draw this substance together. The only words you need for healing are “Let there be Light.” The degree of healing is governed by your reaching for the stars and getting into your body right. Take seven deep breaths and then stretch. Lift all lines when you are getting ready for bed. Go out to cloud with your consciousness. Wait on the Lord. Lift your hands high. The Light that is going through you follows your hands. Group Souls are formed by those who are coming up through evolution from the creature stage to man.
“Here I am Father! I reach up with arms of Light and gather up all scattered soul substance of thought, word, deed, action, resentments, criticisms, idle words. In one sense, healing comes from the ones out there who desire the healing. They pull upon the Light through the healer’s body so it makes her vibrate like an undertone. Each one who kneels pulls, and they pull the Light through. All healing is permanent, yet your mental and emotional life usually can accept it only for the day. The healing begins the instant you ask, and you must clean up your own soul debts, the world’s blame debts, and the portion you vowed to lift, but then repudiated. Every thought of “Why hasn’t the full healing expressed” wipes out your work. The healing does express, and you know it does when the world looks at you and says, “You look marvelous!” as your body is aching with the pain you’re lifting from the very ones who tell you how wonderful you are. The beautiful part is that some of them are permanently healed without even knowing it because God keeps doing His work through you when you say, “Thank You, Father! You are wonderful!”
You never reach a point where you no longer need to discipline yourself. You make your plans and when you do your best God adds His Light to yours. You must choose to ascend in consciousness, and continue choosing day and night. It’s a matter of personal choice and God can’t change that law to suit anyone. We’re heading to a longer lifespan, 150 years at least. It’s your choice how you’ll live it. The difficulty is to know when you get a red light or green. You can release as much Light-as-power while lying down as you can when you are active. You release Light in spite of the fact that you live in a physical body. Healing is the main reason for our school, not just ascension of consciousness and soul illumination. Healing is taking all the misused power-as-force from idle words, darkness and evil that Revelation prophecies may be established. A healing treatment for yourself: Scoop your crystallized life sparks together, quickly lifting them high with a sweeping gesture.
Say, “Let all my old investments of soul substance be lifted.” Enumerate the memories of any you have not lifted before. End with, “Let all this be made into Light!”
Quickly bring your hands down to cross them over your breast so that the tips of your fingers lightly touch your opposite shoulder. Raise your hands and repeat this motion until you have done so three times. Declare, “Let this new shaft of Light descend into this body!”
