Sermons on the Miracles of Jesus Christ
God wrought many miracles as recorded in the Bible; in the New Testament, He granted miracles through His Only Begotten Son, while he walked earth, and later through the Apostles. God grants miracles to those who had faith and believe God will heal them.
God brings miracles to pass in order to fulfill His will regarding the destiny of mankind, but only after the faithful souls cry out to Him in petition for mercy. While you may ask on behalf of another, having the one in need ask and to state his or her request, is always best.
Many believe that miracles ceased with deaths of the Disciples and Apostles, but this is not true. Miracles abound wherever the message of Jesus the Christ is preach and believed. John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part.
–Mark 9:38-40.
Miracles and healing power are among the greater works that Jesus said are the heritage of all those who believe on him. This is our Christed heritage: Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Etymology of miracle: mid-12th Century, "a wondrous work of God," from Old French miracle, from Latin miraculum "object of wonder," from mirari "to wonder at, marvel, be astonished," figuratively "to regard, esteem," from mirus "wonderful, astonishing, amazing." From mid-13th Century as "extraordinary or remarkable feat," without regard to deity.
