A House Divided
Linda Mihalic, June 22, 1999, Cleveland, Ohio
“A house divided against itself cannot stand” (Abraham Lincoln, speech, June 16, 1858). Lincoln’s quote illustrates a conflicted consciousness.
No unity is possible when rebellious self divides itself from soul. Subconscious mind separates itself from rational, thinking consciousness, and superconscious inspiration and illumination. No understanding is possible, for only confusion can result.
Rebellion against the authority of law results in unpleasant side effects. The inner conflict between self-will and Divine Will shows as outer conflict, arguing, and confrontation. Self is the “thief of peace” in a family or group that should operate under the law of unity of purpose, to serve the Light.
When you apply logic, reason, discernment, discrimination, and discretion, you see that acting as the “thief of peace” in any situation leads you to become an agent of conflict, ending in war, physical conflict.
Every agent of conflict stands in danger of being the unwitting tool, the helpless pawn of darkness. This is no path for a child of Light to walk.
As you dedicate yourself to being an agent of Light, you become the agent of peace, love, compassion, wisdom, understanding and other divine virtues of the soul. Your choice is always Light or dark, good or evil, peace or war. You may choose which will be your master, self or soul, but you must serve.
