Good Friday
The events of Good Friday began at around midnight Thursday with Jesus’ arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane and ended with his final sacrifice, the death of his body on the cross. So many events are crowded into that single day that to those who lived through it, it may well have felt as though it lasted a hundred years.
He deliberately and willingly gave his life as a sacrifice that changed our world forever. In doing so, he opened the Gates of Light that we may all return to our Father. His life is the template for ours. As the Elect it is our solemn obligation to hold the Gates open for all.
